I've got a T3x compact in 708. It shoots that Hornady 139 gr American Whitetail ammo so well I bought 2 cases of it same lot number. Hoping for the best that it continues. Also bought 5 boxes of the Norma 150 gr Whitetail ammo which shot just as well but stayed more consistent right around the 0.4s to 05s so that's what I hunted with last year. Kills whitetails just fine at 300. I went ahead and bought a case of Federal power shok 150 grain at auction for about 22/box shipped but have not shot it yet. My 708 Dies arrived today along with 100 pieces of Alpha 708 brass. I'm taking one of my Tikka T3x Hunters, just like yours, but chambered in 30-06, to get rebarreled to 708 with a stainless cut-rifled barrel. My current 708 compact is right handed. I prefer left hand which is what my new 708 will be.
@@Accuracy1st the Tikka T3x rifles are by far the best rifles in the under $1000 Like you've stated.. I haven't found a load mine doesn't like! Great comment!!! I've yet to purchase dies.. but I'm going with the collet die for mine when I do :) Thanks for sharing your experience with your 7mm-08 Remington Tikka.. I believe it is the best cartridge that has come out in my lifetime!

@@Johnowens-dm1vb have you tried the Winchester Ballistic Silver Tips.. I shot .42 inches today at 100 yards.. I've shot .55 inches previously at 100 yards.. and a .82 inch group at 200 yards respectfully. They're really nice rifles.. Thanks for commenting and stopping by brother.. much appreciated!
I bought the exact same rifle in 7mm-08 , it did not group those 139 grain American Whitetail as well (1.75” at 💯) but it grouped the Hornady 150 grain ELDX at .75” . I’d don’t know 🤷♂️
@@NorthwoodsNomad they're all a little different.. nice shooting brother 😊 So far.. the best groups were with Winchester Ballistic Silver Tips half inch.. and I have shot Norma Whitetail.67 inches. Those were 100 yards.. I shot .82 inches at 200 yards with the Winchester Ballistic Silver Tips too! ( There's videos on here with those results ) Thanks for stopping by and commenting.. Very nice. 7mm-08 always handloader gun till lately. Kind like idea of 7mm-08 over the 308 carrys more energy on target in flatter. Though about pick up one i realy want another 7mm mag replace my old one. Wifes uncle nice m70 7mm-08 feather weight wish i got when passed but i passed it for his 30-06 pump in 35re.
@James I bought my first one in 2001 ... and loved it! It was a Remington 700 LSS ... a truly beautiful rifle that shot everything well! Regrettably.. I sold all my firearms back in 2008-09.. going through a tuff time. The thought was .. I'll eventually be able to replace them! You still made out on those firearms.. both of those are on my wish list! I'd take a Model 70 in 243 Winchester! Thanks again brother 😊
@blackie1of4 definitely feel u me my wife been through in . Close 10 yrs married. Sold my 17hmr to dad for money I borrowed for truck breaks. In my 7mm mag. Got 7mm mag back and sold bc barrel was mess up put one rd through wam barrel tossed from copper or brass in throat of chamber in rifling. Just went through another surgery 🙏 and bankrupt I been temp let my custom built 300blk go for other projects and money bc work talk lay off over Christmas
@@jamespugh your health is way more important than any firearm.. no sense stressing while you're on the mend! I'd tell you to do whatever you can.. to elevate added stress! I have a regular stainless T3x 7-08. It's fabulous. I have a Hunter in .270 wsm. It's a monster.

I have the same rifle also 8n 7mm-08. The hornady american whitetail was the most accurate ammo out of 4 different factory loadings tested.

This is the rifle I wanted but my local Canadian tire only had it in 308 so I got it for little under 1,300$
