Anything outdoors..
Hunting fishing shooting hiking camping swimming floating are some of my favorite activities!
I've always enjoyed the outdoors and grew up in the era that you were expected to be outside! I have three brothers all one year apart.. which made life enjoyable ❤️
My brothers and I hunted fished camped played together.. we all spent numerous days afield with our father grandfather uncle's cousins and friends! Which has made us better parents!
Teaching our children and grandchildren to enjoy the outdoors.. and to appreciate all that it has to offer.
God bless America and those who are doing good everyday.. regardless of who's looking 🙏

Bushnell Prime 1x4x24 with a 1/2 moa illuminated dot
My latest Bushnell rifle scope
Bushnell Prime 1x4x24 with a half moa illuminated dot
I highly recommend it
Especially if you are hunting in the woods.. where your shots can be from zero to 75 yards. Dialing the scope up to four power covers anything past that distance.. out to 200 yards!
I believe a low power variable scope is the best option for those who hunt game inside of 200 yards!

January 18, 2025 I just put this new scope on my Savage Axis ii.. and headed to the range! It's a Bushnell Prime 1x4x24 with a 1/2 moa illuminated dot. I highly recommend Bushnell Prime scopes.. I have three of them and they're crystal clear.. track well.. and are built in Korea ( not China ).

Will this gun kill a moose
@@Lasersgoespewpew of course.. you'd have to be inside 100 yards though. It's very comparable to the 30-30 Winchester and the 35 Remington. I use the 180 grain loads from Winchester and Federal. That being said.. I would choose a different cartridge for moose 🫎 This cartridge was designed for whitetail deer and black bear inside 200 yards. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.. much appreciated brother 🙏
@blackie1of4 ur welcome brother one other ? What would u say be the best cartridge for a moose would be in ur opinion?
@@Lasersgoespewpew there's a lot of great cartridges to choose from.. 6.5 Creedmore up to the 338 Winchester! I believe a great all around cartridge would be perfect.. like the 30-06 Springfield or the 308 Winchester. Using 180 grain bullets!
@@blackie1of4 this gun will accept 6.5 creedmoor bullets i did not realize that
@@Lasersgoespewpew no.. it will not! This particular firearm is the 350 legend.. it's a 35 caliber bullet .355 to be exact. The 6.5 caliber is .264 ( inches ) The 350 Legend is a straight wall cartridge.. the 6.5 Creedmore is a bottle-necked cartridge. Bottle necked cartridges tend to shoot further and carry more energy.
Nice glass 👍👍
@@BOHEMIANHUNTINGCLUB thanks brother 🙏 I've been looking at this particular model for a year or so.. lately it was out of stock! However.. right after Christmas there was 8 in stock and I bought one immediately. I was thinking about buying another one.. but can't find them on the website. They must have found the 8 doing inventory and then sold out of them. Then discontinued them.. sadly 😞
Maybe I should get one of these for my new 350 legend!
@@MisterBrewer I believe that you can find the Bushnell Trophy 1x6x24 on their website. I've been looking for the 1x4x24 Prime for a year on the site.. always said out of stock! Well.. right after Christmas.. I looked and there were 8 in stock.. so I immediately ordered one! Now.. they're not listed on the site :( I was going to buy another one.. they must have found 8 doing inventory and sold them out.. sadly! That being said.. That is a beautiful rifle, brother! And a very nice scope too! Nice shooting!
@@MisterBrewer thanks brother! I love the Boyds stock.. had to do some work on it.. had to get it pillar bedded and sand a small section at the tip of the barrel channel. It worked out.. 😁

@@Ridgerunner6.5 me too! I was excited to see that it is being offered in an affordable rifle! I'm sure it will be hard to get ahold of one.. due to the limited amount being chambered in it.. my thoughts! Best advise would be to have your local gun shop order one for you.. pay in advance! Just ordered my first T3X hunter in 308. The T3 seems to be super sweet shooters in all calibers and configurations.

That’s great. I’ve been hearing people are interested in the 35 whelen
@@johnblackie314 the rifles are scarious.. unless you want to pay $1,500 or get a single shot! It will be interesting to see if any other manufacturers offer a 35 Whelen as well.
I came across the information yesterday.. and wanted to pass it on! Most people's only option has been a CVA Scout.. some forked out the money for the Winchester.. other's paid an arm and a leg for a used one 😮 Now.. there will be an option for those who couldn't part with $1,500 on a firearm 😊 I'm definitely going to try to get one ❤ Thanks for stopping by.. I got a savage I'm trying to figure out what ammo it likes. Bout the best Im getting is 3in groups at 100. Tried American Whitetail, Power Points and XPs. Got some lighter Precision one's coming. Hoping maybe that'll do it. I swapped out optics already too. It's a 16in barrel, starting to think its the barrel but in denial..... LOL!
@@BOHEMIANHUNTINGCLUB mines the Savage Axis ii.. with a 18 inch barrel! It used to prefer Federal 180 grain loads.. however.. once I put it in a Boyds stock.. it preferred the Winchester 180 grain loads. I also had sub moa with Browning ammunition. My thoughts about the 180's.. they're designed to make two holes! I used the Federal on a decent size buck in 2020.. he went forty yards and tipped over. Upon field dressing.. I noted that both lungs had a half dollar size hole in them respectfully. The round doesn't carry enough energy ( velocity ) to create hydrostatic shock! Therefore.. an exit wound is vital in some cases! Wasn't needed with my buck cause he tipped over in sight! The blood trail was amazing!
Very Nice!
@@johnblackie314 thanks Johnny.. I appreciate it 🙏
I highly recommend the Bushnell Prime rifle scopes! They remind me of the older 3200.. crystal clear.. track well.. built tough! I have three of the Bushnell Prime scopes.. 1) 3x9x40 with a illuminated 1/2 moa dot 2) 1x4x24 with a illuminated 1/2 moa dot 3) 1x4x32 low power variable.. that brings in light. Which is especially helpful during the first and last hour of daylight.

I have a Tikka T-3 with an E.R. Shaw barrel in 6.5x 284 Norma, it is the most accurate rifle I have ever owned! I'm 75 years old, I have owned a lot of rifles.
@@ralphgreenjr.2466 very nice set-up! The 6.5x284 Norma sounds like a great cartridge to take advantage of Tikka's action and the E.R. Shaw barrel! Hope you had a Merry Christmas.. and are blessed in the coming New Year! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.. much appreciated brother 🙏
I rebarreled a Mk X single shot to 35W. What a pain trying to get it to feed n function. Was a fun project but darn, for what I payed for the barrel, could have had a turnkey Scout.
@@js7127 sounds like a fun project.. and I'm sure that you enjoyed working on it for the most part! These rifles are relatively inexpensive and a little bit on the heavy side.. but for what they are.. I'd say they're certainly worth the investment! Of course.. mine took about thirty rounds down the barrel to sort itself out! I do love that they're able to be taken down.. there's a few that even come with a small bag to pack them up in for transport and storage. I'm thinking about that option in either the 243 Winchester or the 350 legend :) Thanks for stopping by and commenting.. much appreciated brother 🙏

I think the peep should be back by the he bolt
@@georgehayduke6717 I've had it back there.. it works a little better! My intention is to add quick release rings and bases and a low power variable.. so it's on the barrel! Also.. with it moved to the receiver.. I need a taller front sight than the one here. It is .2 inches too low! Now.. if I decide to not add the scope.. I'll move it back and get a taller front sight! Hopefully that makes sense :) Thanks for stopping by and commenting 🙂 Much appreciated brother
Nice setup and great cartridge choice. Especially if you handload! With the advancements in straight wall cartridges over the last few years creating a better ability to headspace on the neck of high pressure rounds, I am hoping we see the other whelen cartidges .375 and .400 . For a very long time the .35 was considered as big as could be done with reliable head spacing with the .30-06 case (and .308 win case) . 9.3 x62 mauser has just enough extra diameter (0.04") to step up from .358 to .366 caliber. But with the .450 bushmaster,.50 Beowulf, .350 and .400 legend , we have learned how to work with that sort of design with higher than pistol pressures. Revolver rounds like .460 amd .500 S&W headspace on their rims . So does the .360 buck hammer. So they don't count here. The .35 whelen deserves more popularity IMHO. It's a great choice for deer to big bear .

Land is constantly being taken.. we however are fortunate that the Pennsylvania Game Commission does invest into purchasing land to secure the future of our heritage ❤ God bless 🙏
Love the sights! Could the average Joe install those or is a gunsmith needed?
@@markfletcher4964 yes.. you could install them easily by yourself with a little time a level and JB WELD. I initially did it that way.. and once I figured exactly how I wanted them.. I had a gunsmith drill and tap four holes. Which most gunsmiths can do for $15 a hole! Works great and I'll eventually get quick release rings and bases for it.. along with a low power variable scope. Thanks for stopping by and commenting ☺️ Appreciate it brother
@@markfletcher4964 also.. that peep sight will attach to the receiver of most center fire rifles if you are not planning on using a scope. The dimensions of the holes are .860 Savage rifles.. Ruger American are two that I know work! Then you only need front sight holes drilled and tapped!
@@blackie1of4 Thank you for replying, I just saw your response. I really like the sights, especially for the dense woods I hunt here in Ohio. Thanks and God Bless and Merry Christmas
@@markfletcher4964 you're welcome brother and you have a merry Christmas too! Also.. that's the reason I put those on there.. if you're hunting close.. thick stuff.. still hunting.. open sights are the quickest to get on target! Almost without thinking! I still may move it back to the receiver.. but I'll also need a taller front sight.. cause the current one is low by .2 inches!
Did you see an accuracy improvment with the new stock?
Not at first.. I screwed up and didn't order the pillar bedding! My first group was a half inch at 100 yards.. then it would open up to one inch at 100 yards. I had issues removing the bolt.. issues with the magazine feeding.. and consistent groups.. sadly! So.. off to a gunsmith she went! He pillar bedded it as well as bedded the entire action. I went to the range.. and the magazine didn't feed properly!!! So.. I reached out to Savage Arms and told them about the magazine.. and they sent me an updated 350 Legend magazine. Now.. she shoots as good as the factory stock! Looks better than the factory stock! I'm happy it's finally done! With the exception of quick release rings and bases for it and a low power variable scope :) Anyways.. I tell everyone that inquires to get it pillar bedded from Boyds.. well worth it! Thanks for stopping by and commenting ☺️ I truly appreciate it!
