+I watched about five seconds of it yeah, but the light sabers that extend. They look bad, but how else are you gonna hit that one guy that keeps touching your stuff and bothering you?
+Cosplay Chris Chris I love ur videos and ur customs are amazing and ur awesome ur videos make me laugh like hell and u try making the new civil war spiderman webshooters for a tutorial
+Turtle Neck I'm completely aware of that dude, this guy is awesome, and it was a recommendation and just that. I know personally I'd rather see wayy more of these and costume/prop set up than some other things on his channel lol
I've recently started cosplaying. I just by chance stumbled across this video because I bought the Black Series Kylo Ren Helmet. This video was fantastic. Liked and Subscribed. Awesome job.
This was great timing Chris! I'm currently planning on cosplaying as Kylo Ren for my first cosplay. Your videos should really help me in making it. Thanks dude and keep up the great work! :)
Chris, I just love your videos, specially the custom props! And you inspire me to do a lot as well! Thanks for the amazing tips on each videos! Great work!
Dude that is some sick customization, I've seen the phasma, hulkbuster, lightsaber and batfleck customs and I really wish I had the time and patience to that. You also Inspired me to start working on a joker cosplay costume. keep up the amazing work!!
Excellent tutorial and very funny video Chris! I really loved the "paint chipped away" look around the edges!! I didn't think it will end up THAT good! perfect illusion of a metal helmet under the black paint. I hope to put in practice some of your advises soon Greetings from Argentina!
These are my favorite kind of video you put out. Costumes and stuff are great and I like those ones too, but I find the DIY mod stuff a lot more interesting.
I did a full gut, fill, disney faceplate replacement with one of these. I wish I had just sanded the whole texture off because I hit it with hammered finish after just to hide all the work I did on the seams. But I really enjoyed watching your take on this there are all these people doing it but no one goes out of their way like you did to show it. It looks great.
Thank you so much for this video! I desperately wanted a Kylo Ren helmet, but the seam annoyed the hell out of me. I used your video to improve my helmet, and it turned out great, especially for my first customisation! My only problem is that I didn't mix the resin that well, and it was quite tacky for a few days.
If you ever bondo a textured prop or helmet in the future, try to knock back some of the existing texture when sanding. Then hit it with sandable "filler primer." you can find it at auto body shops and at Home Depot/Lowes. That fills in any microscratches you might have missed. Then to add texture back to it/sort of match what it had, spray on something called Flex Seal, which is also at Home Depot. It's got a great knobbly sort of semi-leather texture. It's a nice option for folks like me that don't have access to a lot of resin or casting supplies.
hey chris i love what you do, i try doing some custom stuff but im not the best haha i live in darwin so its to damn hot to do it. keep on keeping on chris your awesome
I know this is asking a lot but, could I get a full shopping list of all the equipment I'll need to do this? this will be my first project and I really don't wanna get the wrong thing and mess up my helmet. yours is the best looking one I've seen by far.
Great Video! I have this helmet but have not done a custom paint job on it. What I did do though was put some wadding in between the speaker and front plate to modulate the sound. I have a big nose so removed the nose rubber. It is hellishly hot to wear so marked out the eye socket on the plexiglass visor, cut that out with a dremel then put bonsai mesh in between the glass. This is great for ventilation. I also turned the microphone around 180 degrees to help with the terrible voice changer.
Word of advice: if you want the filling job to be less difficult, leave the circuit boards under the two switches even if you take everything else out. That's what I did and it worked well.
a good trick is use vasoline on areas you don't want painted, then spray paint over whole area, then just wash off vasoline, easy to make cleaan lines and not as fiddly as tape on small areas
10/10, would slam this on the table to intimidate others with face reveal.
+Kylo Ren or would you slize the table with your lightsaer?
+Benjamin Morsch
Both.
LanceGaming 64 that was a kylo clone.
+Benjamin Morsch KILO REN and you are awsam
I saw you on his kylo lightsaber vid
I preferred the shiny chrome on the original helmet, but this is an incredible job!
2019 and I still go back to watch these vids. Never get old to me man! Love em
Customize one of those plastic captain America shields!
+ThundergunJoe Dude isn't that funny! i JUST ordered one off ebay to do a tutorial haha
+ThundergunJoe agree
+Cosplay Chris thank you
+Cosplay Chris YES
+Cosplay Chris you should do Thor's hammer( I know what it's called I just can't spell it)
Why on earth can't these companies make a decent voice changer?
+bummer6 They can't be bothered
+bummer6 well they did it properly on the disney one, so i think they did it on purpose
+I watched about five seconds of it yeah, but the light sabers that extend. They look bad, but how else are you gonna hit that one guy that keeps touching your stuff and bothering you?
Jeremy Mackin pretty sure you replied to the wrong comment or something.
ouncy your profile picture makes that statement very ironic.

+SpookyCitrus Can't tell if that's sarcasm or not.
Caelan Dawe Not sarcasm, I thought it was hilarious.
SpookyCitrus Oh.
+Caelan Dawe You're a bitch. There is literally no other way to describe you as you are as a person and who you will end up being.
Chance Reed I was asking a legitimate question. How does that make me a bitch?

a good trick is use vasoline on areas you don't want painted, then spray paint over whole area, then just wash off vasoline, easy to make cleaan lines and not as fiddly as tape on small areas
sick as bro! love it!!
