      better hope some gonk borg doesn't flatline 'im for a couple of eddies only for his fixer to haze 'im after bein' paid off by some highrider n' zeroed by that same alien, if it does happen hope he knows a good shoemaker that wont turn his back for a little scratch n' if not they might be better off becomin' a zombie
      this is for individuals who may not understand that fully;
      better hope some idiot with a bunch of implants/cyberware/body mods doesn't kill him for a bit of money only for their employer to backstab them because some rich space dick paid them to rat him out before being betrayed by the same rich astrofuck, and if it does happen well i sure hope they know a good forger they can trust to not go behind their back for a few dollars and if not they might be better off killing themselves *thundercrack*

    This turned out very good.
    As for the issues with the servos, it is a well known issue with classic arduinos, the servo library uses software timers to toggle the pins, not hardware, so anything that interrupts the arduino, like interrupts or likely wireless features, or just things that take a while to complete, can affect the software timer and therefore can affect the signal being sent to the servos causing them to jitter. To fix it you can either use a servo driver board which contains hardware timers or just use a microcontroller that has hardware timers.

    Best way to make the visor: engrave/cut the pattern onto a flat sheet of polycarbonate, then vacuum form it onto an FDM printed mold Then proceed according to your process of spracing and sanding. (can probably spray and sand while it's still flat actually, so you can use an electric sander).

    • @Iguana93
      @Iguana93 5 місяців тому

      I would also have gone with vacuum formed PETG, simply because shells from resin are so brittle (and internal tensions can make them deform and crack even long after curing). It would perhaps look a bit different but surely not worse and it would be much more durable. You would have to sand it after the vaccuum forming though, there's no chance of the paint withstanding the bending and temperature.
      But this result is amazingly cool either way.

    • @SidekickElements
      @SidekickElements 5 місяців тому

      @@Iguana93 Maybe with a polyurethane based paint? That should be elastic, and I think there are high temperature polyurethane spray coating for automotive applications.

    • @Iguana93
      @Iguana93 5 місяців тому

      @@SidekickElements Perhaps? But even the elasticity in those is meant for natural flexing in the substrate. Vacuum forming introduces huge dimensional changes.

  •  7 місяців тому +1

    Alcohol ink's do regrade the crosslink chains of the plastic when they are forming during the curing process.
    Instead what you need is a dye that is suspended in the same (similar enough) resin that you are printing with. Your prints will crumble over time. this info is from my own firsthand testing and working directly with photopolymer manufacturers.
    If you need to dye resin again use the CMYK colour pigment set by Monocure .
    Its incredibly beautiful work and you are def gaining a sub. The black on red shine through is seriously some of the best finishing work i've seen on a resin print.

    If you break it, you can also cosplay it and say it’s Oda but Battle Damaged, just ad maybe some red LED’s to look like fresh burn cuts along the cracks of the mask like he was hit by a thermal mantis blade or Monowire

    One thing you can do to make cleaning off your supports SO much easier on your resin prints is to soak the print in hot water for a few minutes before pulling off or cutting off the supports. They'll pop right off, and do less damage to the print itself. Great job on the helmet!

    I like how near the end the red light makes his eyes look really cool

    Videos like these keep me motivated through all the failures and prototyping on projects. I'm working on a collapsible helmet right now and want to electronically actuate the visor but have always been intimidated by the process so this is uplifting. Printing the resin visor I thought was a bad idea on my part but seeing yours in action was such a relief to know it was in fact possible. Love seeing your work and looking forward to seeing more of your projects! Thank you!!

    This might be the coolest thing I have ever seen someone make on UA-cam.
