Ren was the original drummer for The Big Push (before Glen came aboard), so yes, that's him making the percussion noises (along with the beatboxing.) In several of the bts Big Push videos shot in Ren's apartment, there's also a cello propped up against the wall, which I'm guessing wasn't for decoration (he has, of course, written a string section, including cello, for the end of Money Game Pt. 3.) Heard him say in an interview once that he can "make noise" on just about anything. Noise, indeed!

It's filmed at an abandoned shopping arcade in Brighton. And yes, he makes all the beats and sounds himself.

I love Ren flexing in this one! He put all the different flows together and made a monster! I know this was filmed in Brighton, but idk the latitude/longitude :D It's so funny seeing people up top watching him. I love his beatboxing in the background.
It's great that you guys pick up on more than the rap, which is understandably what most focus on. This track is a feast for the ears.

This is just Ren showing us what he can do. Just flexing.
I see and hear more than that. To me this is an invocation. He's telling the universe who he is and what he wants, giving notice of his imminent arrival. Just break down some of the bars. "Conquer music scene, golden ticket Wonka". "All the seeds that I planted slowly growing like trees." It sounds like a spoken word spell. Remember, too, that it was just a year later that he earned #1 album in the UK.

I love double header Rendsday! This is in Brighton England. 50.82838, -0.13947. You did ask for it, lok😂😂. He does direct, produce and mix most of his music.
The video was shot near Brighton Marina in summer 2022: 50.813984, -0.108021. I think that area may be developed now, so bye bye graffiti wall. At least images of the wall are preserved in some street view shots, photos, and this video.

@@eryksunthank you - I’ve been trying to find that spot for maybe 10 months. I felt sure it was Brighton as almost all the videos are/were until he went to Canada, but something about how it looked had be convinced this was way inland on the edge of the city. I never thought to look for it so close to the sea!
Can confirm that on Streetview, I’ve found a spot and an angle on Marina Way that even still has the sofa there!

It's the seafront near Brighton a bit along the coast from the main seafront/pier. There's a lot of derelict commercial properties around there. A lot of Ren's videos are filmed at locations around Brighton cos it's local for him.

So this is the result of Ren getting so hungry that he ate all the flows until they started overflowing and he spat them back out on this fire track 😂
Love to see you hungry too. Hungry for more Ren that is 😂 I knew you would love the production in this one. Just a feast for the ears. I think one of the things that makes Ren so brilliant as a producer and songwriter in general is that attention to details. He adds so many little extra touches that could easily become too much except he knows exactly how to find the right balance so it just keeps it interesting and feels like little Easter eggs once you notice the little sounds and layers. This is definitely one of my favourites because the production and the constant changes to the flows just makes my ADD brain so damn happy 😂 I can’t wait for you to reach another personal favourite from a completely different corner of the rabbit hole: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and stunning.

For the Zeitgeist... it pulls that curtain behind which the little man stands when operating "The Wizard"...
Well ....Actually Ren had to be at least 17 (which is still very young of age for such kind of movie) when he watched "Zeitgeist-The Movie" which is a kind of documentary movie about mythology and also about conspiracy theories and which obviously clearly had an huge impact to some topics of his songs.
That movie came out in 2007 (therefore he had to be 17) and had 2 continuations = "Zeitgeist:Addendum" (2008) and "Zeitgeist:Moving Forward" (2011)

An interesting story
He wrote thus 2015 when he was limited to his bedroom. Don't know if he did all the beats at that time.
Bah, almost every video of his I can tell you where it’s shot as I love geodetective things and I’ve spent hours pinning the locations down - but this one has had me stumped because I don’t think it shows up on streetview. I know it’s got trucks parked off to the right where it ends, and there are some other takes of this that they didn’t use (one where Ren nearly slipped over) which show some other clues where it might be.
Also - I have tried putting lat and long cords in comments on YT before and YT immediately deleted the comment…they don’t seem to want people posting locations in chat comments for some reason.
