For me would be perfect a Pocket 4 with a detachable head. The head could be like the Action 2, a small cube that can be used as a standalone camera, and that gain functions when attached to the gimbal body. With that you can use the standalone camera with rain or in action environments or when you need a very small camera.
Agreed that both are great tools to capture different settings - but all in the similar DJI log profiles, in similar quality, with similar ease of use. Mini 4 Pro + Action 4 + Pocket 3 = perfect toolset for the average person to professionally record and capture your life and interests.

Yeah the Pocket is a Vlogging/Travel camera not an Action camera, for 99% of the time while Traveling or on Holiday the Pocket is going to be what you want, for the 1% of the time you are in the Water or getting dragged behind a boat or whatever an Action cam is what you want. The quality of this Pocket is astounding, Sony etc should be worried.
I really like the Pocket for walkaround videos - I like the focal length and unobtrusiveness of the camera. But if conditions are wet or dusty or in any way harsh, I go for the Action 4 - the Pocket 3 is not built for that. And I find the Pocket's low-light performance to be superior and the follow capability of the Pocket is outstanding (and of course, nonexistent on the Action). Built-in mic receiver for the Mic 2 on the Pocket 3 is also nice to have. It's fun having both.
Does the blur of pocket 3 create focus problems for you? Is the screen on pocket 3 large enough as to not attach the phone to see what you are recording? I am looking to buy my first vlog camera, any advice would be appreciated.
This video basically sets out why I went away from a dslr to an Olympus TG quite a few years ago. It still goes with me on vacation. While not an action camera it certainly takes an absolute beating in constant use, produces good quality results. Action 4 for me. The P3 produces great quality for sure, but I personally don’t really have an application for other than it being a decent alternative to a webcam. It’s a bit pricey for that as a single user case though.
Im personally impresed with P3 , just one thing keeps me from buying one is the gimbal...looks fragile, one major fall and its done...i just feel comfortable with true action cam
Bought and returned the DJI Action 4 the next day. Requires "Activation" from DJI. Why would a camera require activation? I understand a cellphone or drone but a camera? Called DJI and was told it was to keep track of active v. inactive cameras! Huh? I asked if they can deactivate a lost cameras to which the said yes. So this means users are being followed by DJI.
Exactly right, which prevents me from purchasing any "action camera" on the market today. Find me that camera under $700 that does NOT require any personal information of mine to "activate" it (so-called "activating". 99.8% of the users NEVER really read through the Terms of Agreement, and understand the verbiage). Find me that camera, then I'm all "in"! We give up to much privacy/personal tracking, these days it's not funny. Remember the old days of cameras? Open the box, charge the battery, plug in SD Card, take videos/pictures then download to your computer without the activation process? I laugh at the people that say, "that's okay, what are they going to do with my name/email, etc.. during the activation process?" [snickering] okay. 🤭😉🤡

I don’t think the question is should I get the Pocket 3 or Action 4. The question should be can I afford both. If the answer is no, then the Action 4 might be the better choice. For me, the Pocket 3 would be a replacement for my SONY RX100M3 on my trip to Europe next year which will involve walking in various cities including evening walks when the very good low light capabilities of the P3 will come into play. Maybe the Action 5 will get a one inch sensor so the improvement in low light performance will be just as impressive as it was comparing the P3 to the P2.

For instance, I was making a video of a big crowd of people dancing in a park, while next to them a little girl was ignoring them but was busy eating an ice cream. So, with the Pocket 2 (remember that old camera?!) on its extension rod I was able to glide from a shot of the crowd, with the camera held high, to a shot of the girl taken about a foot off the ground, with the gimbal keeping the shot untilted throughout. I think initially vloggers will overuse active track. However, there are still scenes where a static frame with the narrator walking into or around the scene is better. Just depends on the scene and objective. My 2c as a novice videographer with zero training. - WW
Wishing someone would make video dji pocket 3 on under the water😁
some people making video saying in DJI action 4 4k 60fps and 4k120 fps front screen not working is it true ??
Cool comparison and points made
Osmo Pocket 3 no question
hello my friend
i want to ask you about the size of the DJI Action 4
does it fit to a pocket jeans or do it pop up in a weird way
if you could assure me with a 1-minute video about this i would be appreciative
Is the pocket 3 waterproof?
No
I wish
@@hurtighansen1 we all wish !! But that’s a minor problem in regard to all the +++ on the pocket 3; Had the Pocket 1&2 and this one is really better, especially with a real screen now ! I’m lucky enough to have the Action 4, this way, I have a good combo, as the Action 4 offers wider field of view when needed and a more rugged form for action or rainy days. Having both offers also the same image treatment so it’s easy to edit on post.
No
im a clumsy person, so i choose action 4 over pocket 3.
Bro that first comparison must be wrong. The action cams look super grainy. I’ve shot with all those cams and they don’t look like that 👀
Для блогов я бы выбрал OP3 , а для спорта action4
Dji osmo pocket 3 i hope i can buy thiss camera ❤
too bad that the size of the osmo had to go bigger from the 2 to the 3, i like more the size advantage of the osmo 2.The bigger size its a set back because of less discretion when filming people on the street.
i think i would fisrt buy a djiaction 4 and eventualy also aquire the osmo pocket 3 for relaxed walking filming only and interviewing or live on the street video shoting
