If you haven't already, plaese read them the Arya scene from the books "Needle was Robb and Bran and Rickon, her mother and her father, even Sansa. Needle was Winterfell's grey walls, and the laughter of its people. Needle was the summer snows, Old Nan's stories, the heart tree with its red leaves and scary face, the warm earthy smell of the glass gardens, the sound of the north wind rattling the shutters of her room. Needle was Jon Snow's smile. He used to mess my hair and call me "little sister," she remembered, and suddenly there were tears in her eyes." George R.R. Martin, A Feast for Crows
Tyrion is becoming a regular victim of bad timing. He was at the inn at the crossroads at the same time as Lady Stark and it didn't end well for him. He was holding the wine jug as Joffrey choked to death and now, he happened to be at the very brothel that Jorah had chosen to drown his sorrows. None of these coincidences have worked well for him.
Janos Slynt deserved no mercy. He commanded the Gold Cloaks when they betrayed Ned. He carried out the killing of Robert's bastards, including personally killing an infant (which is why Tyrion sent him to the Wall). He took his vows to the Night's Watch, a military organization that runs on the chain of command and committed mutiny (not once, but twice), which is punishable by death. The freed slave that Dany killed had taken no such vows, was apart from his crime, entirely innocent, traumatized, and a representative of the newly freed slaves who now see Dany as one of the Masters. Dany's situation called for an alternative type of justice. Jon could never have continued as Commander if he showed mercy to Slynt.
Didn't this former slave kill a man awaiting trial? Even if this man is an enemy, if he is bad Murder is murder. And if we talk about justice - it is a crime, regardless of who committed it: the Lord (Karstark) or the former slave, yesterday's victim~ But speaking of emotions, hot heads and hasty actions - in this case it is the Queen's duty to think about the fate of her subjects. Both the old men who know no other life except slavery, and the simple youths, full of resentment, suffering, stupidity, and desire for revenge.
The actor that portrays this older version of Tommen was repurposed. He was originally one of the 2 young Lannister boys that Lord Karstark executed as revenge for Jamie killing his son when escaping. He actually had lines with Robb's wife Talisa.
Yeah the High Sparrow, Jonathan Pryce, is in a lot of things that people would just recognize him but not really know exactly where. I liked him as Elizabeth Swan's dad in the Pirates movies. Also back in the day he was in a Bond movie as a villain I think.
Very nice reaction! I think Thorne refused to defend Janos, not because Jon named Thorne 1st Ranger, but because Thorne was well-aware of Janos' cowardice at the battle for Castle Black at this point. As much as Thorne hates Jon Snow, he knew a sniveling craven like Janos couldn't be allowed to remain among the Night's Watch. Cowardice is like cancer. On the flip side, I think Dany could have shown mercy to the man she executed. He was a former slave, not an oath-taking member of a military order who openly defied his commander.
Janos betrayed Ned and killed a baby. Despite all of Janos' past, Jon not Know,, Daenerys was just as fair or more so than Jon. You can't criticize her for her actions, just that she did it in front of the public
@@Jose-Lozanchez Problem is Jon took an oath. So did Janos. They are bound by those oaths and they both knew it. Daenerys answers only to herself and had much more room to be less rigid than Jon in these decisions.
@@randommusic4567He didn't "just refuse a job." He wasn't a civilian. Refusing a top commander's order in a military unit was a capital crime back in the day. I bet Lindsay "recognized" the High Sparrow from s4e7 where the dying man who Arya and Sandor meet (and kill before being attacked) looks a lot like him but they are different actors.
I don’t know, I think when Janos Slynt said he has always been afraid Jon put him out of his misery. Remember, Janos hid during the battle at The Wall. In season 1 Jon told Sam that The Wall is no place for cowards. And Janos Slynt was a coward. So I think that was part of the reason he executed him.
