  • Hi Guys & Gals! - Welcome back! ✌
First things first... I hope you are all staying stay, healthy and sane in this weird rona era we have found ourselves in 🤞
This is the first video in a little series focused on getting my 2006 GSXR 750 K6 ready for the track (if this lockdown ever ends...😅)
In this video, I used Motul 5000 10W40 4T Oil and a K&N filter. Here is a link to what I ordered:
    www.ebay.co.uk...
    www.ebay.co.uk...
Please note: I am not a mechanic, I never profess to be. Just a girl having a bash at a little bit of bike maintenance with the help of her fella 👍
Please please note: if you have a bike that is still within manufacturer's warranty, I would always advise you get the servicing done at a dealership in order to maintain your warranty and keep it valid. Since this is an 06 track bike... I'm giving it a whirl 😊
In the coming videos, you will see this:
    Oil & Filter change ✅
    Fitting second hand R&G rearsets...
Fitting the Power Commander and Quickshifter...
Fitting the tank grips and giving the Gix a general spruce up 💫
    As always, thanks for watching.
Your likes, comments and subscriptions are ALWAYS appreciated. So thank you!

Anyone that tells you you need to fill the filter don't know what they are talking about lol, it fills as the oil circulates anyway. As for a warm engine, that is just to speed up the flow of oil and you will get a little more out that way as it flows better, so advised but not a major issue if not done. The only thing anyone could criticise is how long you ran the bike after, and how long you left it before re-checking the level. It will take a bit longer to fully circulate (not a lot, I like to run it a couple of mins to be sure), and a few mins or so to fully drain back to the sump, I always say to recheck after the next ride to be sure too, nicely done though.

Always good to do your own basic maintenance and what better time than now!!!👍👍 I do pre-fill my oil filters and oil the seal. Everybody is different, as long as the bikes not overfilled with oil.

The motor is already “prelubed” or “primed” with oil so not filling the filter isn’t really much of an issue. If this was a fresh build and first start I would DEFINITELY prefill the filter to avoid running the motor “dry” (no oil in the journals) for any length of time. You did a great job! Good choice on the filter and oil as well.

@@UsernameKate well they will struggle on a zzr110 as they are the paper cartridge type so it's impossible to pre fill and those engines have a high regard for longevity, so I say it doesn't matter 🤣 it's usually people who have no idea spout off and criticize 🤣🤣🤣

We're allowed out Wednesday! Woo! Heres to hoping June/July see's NoLimits resume business :)
I'm waiting on my "R&G" tank grips to arrive this week. Power commander has just gone on mine. It's a doddle to install, just a bit tighter in places, especially when it came to get getting the TPS plug off.

Hey Kate, thanks for posting this video. Can you recommend me a pair of tires ? For example: What tires are ya using for your bike? Im riding a gixxer 750 k5 with Bridgestone Battlax t31 which aint that great IMO. Anyways : Have a great week and stay frosty :) while riding.

Nar then. Just had a wonder over to ya channel after watching Teapots podcast. Mi wife rides with me, she's only 5.2 and loves it. Until recently she was riding a z900 but since changed to a vulcan. She loves the whole biking community, rides out etc and tinkering with her bike. She's just put some bar end mirrors on. Just showed her this vid and now wants to change the oil 😁.

Good job, Kate but ultimately the oil doesnt need to be warm at all.. nor does that filter need filling with oil, fair play though for having a bash. If you ever wanna cycle oil around an engine, turn it by hand or turn it over without a spark and the oil will circulate.
