Visiting The Manila Food Market Recommended By So Many Filipinos 🇵🇭

The weekend is here, which means we finally get to visit the Salcedo Morning Market. This famous market in Manila is a vibrant weekend destination offering a wide variety of fresh produce, local delicacies, organic goods, and handmade crafts. Located in Salcedo Village, Makati, it attracts locals and tourists alike with its lively atmosphere and diverse selection of high-quality food and artisanal products. It is open every Saturday from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
We first heard about this from watching Dale Phillips’ vlog in Manila and have always wanted to go, but our timings never matched up. We started off by taking a Grab to the area (it wasn’t far to walk, but we didn’t want to get too sweaty before breakfast). We explored the amazing market for around 15 minutes, building up an appetite and deciding what we wanted to eat.
After looping through the whole market, Jason spotted one of his favorite coffee shops, Tim Hortons. We’ve only ever had one coffee from there, called French Vanilla. It’s simply the best, and you must try it if you ever pass one. We enjoyed a coffee there, then headed off to get some delicious Hungarian sausage-it was incredibly juicy and tasty.
Next, we tried some empanadas (savory pastries filled with meat, vegetables, or cheese, then deep-fried or baked). There is a stand that offers a really well-priced meal of chorizo silog, which Jason enjoyed while Erin got herself a refreshing cucumber juice. The food was really fresh. The prices were a little high, but that was to be expected for the area and the quality of what we were eating. If you're in Manila on a Saturday, we highly recommend this as both a meal and an experience.

7:00 - Carabaos are different from Caribous. Carabao is our national animal and have been used for farming here for centuries. (And our National Bird is the Philippine Eagle or Monkey-eating Eagle which is also the biggest eagle in the world in terms of length and wing span.)

Green spaces in Makati try Ayala triangle, if in BGC, there are heaps of green spaces. Im Manila city, Rizal park aka Luneta,and connected to art and other free museums. Empanaditas mean small empanadas, it's Mexican/ as in spanish. But Filipino version is very different from south American empanadas
