A Normal Day in an Alternate Timeline | Arma 3 Rome Never Fell

- After the successful conquest of the Sea Kingdom of Hawaii and progression of the pacific campaign by the LXXIV Legion there has been troubling news from the Asian continent. It appears that the Nexus Shogunate of Japan has begun their long-anticipated invasion of the Neo-Han Dynasty, though a few years earlier than predicted. This puts supply lines in peril as war materials have been using Han ports for transit. Cohort Magistrates Ignis is tasked with stabilizing the Han front while negotiations for the use of ports begin with the Shogunate. (This sounds like the ramblings of a mad man)

"I love trench defenses" the entire artillery company: are you sare about that?
The foxhole player about to calculate the exact range and azimuth necessary to drop an entire pallet of 120mm onto my forehead:
@@redjive_industries3760on god, I was once in a war pretty entrenched there was a complete stalemate, arty was pretty random, but out of nowhere the arty became pin point it was fucking scary
I’ve once again subjected Ignis to my deranged alternate history schemes and I have few regrets. (Besides all the kit bashed mods wanting to explode our server at every chance it gets). Next time we’re fighting the Aztecs on the moon or something.
(Also as been aptly pointed about the intro, the samurai did historically have guns so I amend that to "samurai with machine guns". c:)

Hello, could you make a new video of Resistance Fall Of Man in Arma 3, please?
hey quick question how do you get the melee mod and ace3 to work together
Should be fun.
Also, can a another Resistance op happen? I kinda want to see the air corps refuse to lose again.

"Congradulations soldier! You were the first one over the wall!"
"PLEASE GOD IM GONNA DIE!"
"Your medal will be awarded when you return!"
More like Jupiter but ok
@@icantcomeupwithagoodusername24 or Mars
@@nestorgamer9746 no mars was the god of war Jupiter was the main god like the most powerful one. You would probably pray to him or the god/goddess of life and healing here. Jupiter could help ya best and well mars wouldn’t like you not standing up and blasting apart more.
Actually comes up on my exam lol
Honestly, Rome vs. Samurai is a pretty awesome concept. Though you could argue back then it would've been more the Byzantine Romans vs the Samurai, wondering how the conflict would go if Rome had survived long enough to advance their tactics to the medieval era would've been interesting.
I mean, the East did survive well into the medieval era...for all intents and purposes the Eastern/Byzantine Romans *were* the Roman Empire.
the eastern roman empire survived until the first crusades with the fall of Constantinople
yeah, it would be a cool universe to see, Roman in the Modern Era of Warfarm mixed with Melee combat
The fall of eastern Rome is what ended the medieval era actually
@@purplenurp5590Actually, even further! The crusaders were during the 1000s. The city and the state as a whole fell in the mid 1400s to the Ottomans!
Holy shit Desrat with a gladius is terrifying XD
Also, gotta love Maru one-woman Banzai charging a Japanese machine gun emplacement XD
🫡
Twice.
Oh hey Rhodor. Uh glory to the Riders.
I am in awe at the power of Desrat.

@@teoborges3949 Now about that beer I owe ya
Desrat is a legend for that insane, brink-of-death victory at 5:40. Absolute madman with a body count of *high.*
No shit, that was awesome 😎
>Charges into an enemy building
>Kills four to six men with sword alone
>Refuses to elaborate
>Leaves
a true son of rome
It's like that one combat video of the one Yemeni soldier fighting off 4 Houthis nearly all at once on the peak of a hill.
the sheer contrast between the highly structured, well-written lore and the goofy memeing and comical editing gives me tonal whiplash, and I keep coming back for more.
Watching Jay and his friends become Past-Tense is always a bright part of my day
Bro it's good to see Shanghai used, I worked on the southern part of the map but it was never fully finished. Amazing to see what you guys have done with it!
One of the coolest maps we've seen in awhile!
I really love this Modern Rome style game going on here. It's so cool and seeing the utter carnage going on as they fight against Samurai with guns. This entire scenario and the chaos it creates as a result is so awesome!
wanna hear a joke? Saying samurai with guns is like saying PIN number
Fun fact: The way to defeat samurai taught to the regular soldier was quite literally overwhelming numbers. While the way to defeat a medieval knight
(specifically germanic or heavy cavalry which were often so heavily armored that they were near impossible to harm with the standard line infantry short sword and spear/pike)
was hit to them in the head with the pommel of your sword until they hopefully stop moving and pray to God they don't become conscious enough to fight back
(or just kill you before you can get close enough)
Honestly, sounds about right!
Another strategy for fighting knights was just to grapple them and hope you can get a knife in the armpit or eyeslit
I mean sure quantity is a good way to defeat your opponent when you don't have quality.
But heavy cavalry got wrecked once countries were able to more reliably field organised infantry that wouldn't break formation at the first charge, the pike square is what brought the end of frontal heavy cavalry charge during the late middle age. So I personally would say that that pikes and long spear are more than enough to arm a knight. And even heavy cavalry during antiquity tended to flank organised formation like phalanx rather than charge the front. That's where the hammer and anvil strategy come from.
So best bet against a medieval knight at close range is to just *bonk*. Got it.
@@Pellimori no no you dont get it it has to be a big ba bonk a donk
The worst thing Jay can do to a squad is acknowledge their existence because then they immediately get drawn into his sphere of chaos and targeted
That one man that fought five samurai all by himself, needs the highest award there
5:40 props to desrat that 1v4 was actually pretty dang impressive!!!!
I like the Fun Fact about the Mural Crown. If you continue the alternate time-line, can you add more fun facts? Make it like a tidbit staple for the series.
In the first bit of this video before rubix is reduced to atoms from a grenade, I can see him happily strolling down a trench as bullets and artillery whizzes and explodes around him, a cup of coffee in one hand and a gun in the other
Yay! More future Romans! I loved the first video and hope to see more from this. The alternate history/universe y’all have made with this is fun.
"they`re powerless without their heads!" just brings to mind that japanese folklore has disembodied heads (wether man or animal) as a type of yokai, while europe has headless monsters, like the medival artistic depiction of giants having no head and a face on their chest, also, the headless horsemen.
This was such a fun op, had a blast the whole time!
'They're haunting me.' - Rubix thinking about his warcrimes in Gaul amid mortar and gunfire
*> Machinegun in a superior fighting position:* **Exists**
*> Maru, with a sword:* And I took exception to that. c:
4:12 he studied the blade so hard he parried a freaking truck.
*Truck used battering ram*
*Shinobi used deflect slash. It was super effective*
4:30 "Chowder this wholesome animated found family comedy got me questioning my loyalty to Rome."
4:31 The appropriate response.
8:10 I think that's a cool little detail to add. Even silly and otherwise insane settings can feel alive from little consistencies like that.
Man Desrat needs to get some awards with that quad-gladius kill!
Jay, just wanted to comment and say that you're my favorite content creator on UA-cam right now. Every video you post leaves me in tears with laughter, and there's no other UA-camr whose videos I look forward to more. Your editing, friends, and your reactions to the absolute batshit insanity that Ignis gets into are incredible. Thank you for all the laughs, and I hope you continue to have a good year!
8:08 A neat fun fact followed by proclamations of imminent doom! My favorite!
I like how Rome making it into the modern day is somehow one of the more unbelievable sci-fi universes.
Romogus should be hidden in every Rome Never Fell video.
6:00 - Jamsheed has truly become a legend lmao
That ending with the samurai getting absolutely _filleted,_ REPEATEDLY
Ok, we gonna talk about Desrat casually killing four combatants at the same time in melee combat? Like give this man a medal!
I beg for longer videos. 20 minute videos would be amazing. every video is so good and I wish they lasted longer
I love that even in this alternate reality, the M2 still serves
Jay, it's actually really cool for you to throw random war and historical facts in your videos, you should o it more often!
This video is complete Ignis chaos and i wouldnt have it any other way! Especially durimg the opening moments of tbe urban battle, that friggin jamsheed refrence was so true. Love the videos my guy!
I love these videos and I feel it's forever between each one but its worth the wait for the amount of laughter to follow watching, thank you so much rubix ❤
4:10 you tried to run over the samurai and he parried you
Thanks for the discription it was quite cool. Nice video too.
Just on another binge of rewatching your stuff. Alwaysmakesme laugh. Keep it up boi.
Another amazing vids, keep em coming I NEED MORE SUSTENANCE.
"Whoa, this is a fun one. I love trench defenses."
Artillery shell: "Me too!" *BOOM*
I love your videos man they always make me laugh and smile
The fact that Jay doesn't even know what the hell happened makes so much more enjoyable
"I love trench defenses" said no one but the bourgeois in their fancy mansions miles away from the battlefield.
The assault rifles sound effects are off the hook, every time they're fired it sounds absolutely glorious
I love this "Roman Never Fell" Game series you guys do. XD
I said it on the last video, and I will say it on this one. I really love this concept, a sort of story built around the absolute chaos that is these operations. Now I really want to see a continuation to the eventual Fall of Rome. Get us a tragedy fit for the ages!
Ignis corp is definitely the type to die all the time in the funniest way possible
Damn. I was really lookin forward to the “Failed Stealth” that has begun recurring.
I tried ngl, every time I got close in remote control they would cut me down before I could say the line lol, Jay did not fail stealth this op
Please do more of these!
Hello! It looks like a great clash of two great Empires. Reminds me For Honor and Red Alert at the same time. Hopefully in future there will be another faction - Empire of dragons and silk. Or the people of the sands. It’s interesting to follow the development of events and this universe!
This is one I might actually watch again
I completely understood the description briefing.
Ahouldnt have refreshed my yt mainpage before going to sleep. Now i gotta watch it.
Gloria Romae! Love the alternate history content!
YES! I've been waiting for more Rome.
Loved the reference to my boy Jamsheed the Rocket God at 6:03
The stoppage of footage for us to think about what the object on the screen was, and then realizing it was a mortar right before the video started again was great.
The amount of laughs in this video keep it up jay sorry i dont comment as often i get too carried away watching the videos again
I like how the towns were designed, very nice
Shoutout to Desrat, taking on a whole house with nothing but a gladius!
I like that killing each other after mission complete is still lore accurate for Roman politics and military
Loved the one guy going all General Maximus on a roomful of samurai :D.
Very fun concept!
Who knew sci-fi Rome fighting futuristic samurai with modern weapons in Neo-Han China would be like delivering crack straight into my veins, but here we are.
PAX ROMANA!
Looking forward to Cypher's antics in this op lol
Damn Desrat went full Gladiator on those samurai
Maru charging a MG nest twice and dying was the most Roman thing ever
I don't think Tails wanted that medal LMAO
Woo another awesome video
This is quite a cool concept
Been sick for 3 days straight, feeling better and I just ordered pizza when I saw he posted, hell yeah
I only just heard the legend of Jamsheed yesterday and the reference at 6:03 made me giggle
Keep up the great vids
"Samurai with guns"? So somewhere in this 1000 year vicinity of history :)
3:09 Gaius Julius: *wrong timeline*
Jay: I hope it doesn't get destroyed.
*gets destroyed*
The curse comes for all.
just realized how the sheer will of Ignis not saying capture point Biggus Dickus
I really enjoy the lore of these ignis ops
Dude....Desrat456 at 5:41 WAS AN ANIMAL!!!!! FOR THE EMPEROR!
Honestly I feel like the Ignis Corp intro is what plays everytime I wake up in the morning
4:36, AUGH and buffering, i bursted into laughter
I feel like this is probably a pretty accurate visual representation of what the Corporate Wars in the Cyberpunk franchise looked like.
Another lovely day in Legio Ignis!
Bro I love this alternate universe
7:37 my favorite part in the entire video😂
I really liked the fact about the walled crown. To show this, I would like to share a Roman fact in return. A Triumph was the biggest celebration a victorious general could get. They would parade down the main road in Rome, show off their army, the spoils of war, important war prisoners, throw gold to the crowd, and finish by offering a sacrifice to Mars. Because Rome also wanted people to be somewhat humble, there was also a guy standing next to the general who’s job was to just say stuff like, “You’re going to die and none of this will matter when that happens.”
This AU fucking slaps. More plz.
I finally joined your crazy-toilet and ... It is fun. When I join the SCP battle last time I didnt think it could get more chaotic than this. Diner crazy.. When I joined this battle it was tame in my opinion. I mean I died a few times but still. I'll join again some other time.
desrat going berserk and killing a room full of samurai was awesome
"Howdy! Glory to Rome!" is the most cursed alternate timeline sentence because it implies Roman Texas.
“I died a lot in this one”
My brother in Christ
you die a lot in every other video
The aesthetic of Futuristic World War 1 Antiquity is inherently so cursed that it’s hilarious.
Jays reward for surviving till the end of every OP: shot by friendlies
This was great
“Samurai with guns”
that’s just regular samurai
All the Ignis stuff I've watched over the last we while got a parody of twisted sister rattling around my mind, I'm thinking "we're not gonna make it!"
Japan vs Rome in many ways is similar to the First Punic War. The Japanese like the Carthaginians are a naval people while Rome a predominantly land power. While the Roman Navy did eventually win the attritional contest in the Punic Wars, afterwards in the Era of Pax Romana and Mare Nostrum the Roman navy became little more than an anti-piracy force and and a taxi service for the Legions, so it is likely Japan would also have the advantage on the sea after the Roman Navy atrophied.
For Japan to win it needs to successfully leverage its naval dominance and dictate the time and place of battles and campaigns to make the most use of limited resources, while Rome needs to do what it did to the Carthaginians and bring its economic, manpower, and resource superiority to bear to grind down the Nexus Shogunate in a war of attrition.
In my mind this is what has happened in my RP server.
For instance we used the anime known as GATE Thus the JSDF fought there with a lot of other fandoms included and it starts to feel like this nowadays.
This is going to be fun
