The only international race, in a city the size of Chicago, on a weekend without F1. How is this not treated as a marquee event!
It is, which is why it's on Peacock, they're trying to force you to pay even more to watch this series because the execs at Comcast/NBC aren't already fucking rich enough.

Hey NBC, you must really hate Indycar fans. Forcing them to either miss a race or buy your Peacock app is a scummy thing to do.
I actually really like the Peacock app, but it was still messed up to refuse to air it on TV.
Peacock is what, 6 bucks a month? Unless you are unemployed living with your parents, that's extremely affordable. Much cheaper than cable.

@@jimnasium452 IndyCar told everyone back in September this was happening, and it's the 2nd or 3rd year in a row they put the Toronto race on Peacock. Can't say you weren't warned in advance.
There needs to be an Indycar app independent of NBC, Peacock, etc for fans to watch all events and races.. emulate what F1 has done with their TV app and I'd be a happier fan.
That's going to be far more difficult than you think. F1 produces everything on the race coverage and lets countries add their commentary to the races while NBC produces all the content for IndyCar.

After being a huge IndyCar fan for 40+ years, I guess this is the only way I can watch races now. I am not adding an umpteenth subscription for something I have been watching free for my entire life...

This series gets more watchable every weekend
Unless you can't watch it because it's behind a paywall. Or they start early and the DVR misses the beginning. Or it's in a little window smaller than my 90's TV was even though I've got a 65" TV. Or the prattling on by commentators that just use a lot of adverbs and adjectives to cover the lack of analysis (Diffy can't say Indy 500 without preceding it with "the greatest spectacle in all motorsports" almost every, single time.) Worst coverage I've ever seen.
I am a fan of both F1 and IndyCar and this series is the best racing in the world. This season has been fantastic. The field is so deep of great drivers.

RLL is back, Palou shows he's the man (started 16th finish 2nd), Toronto didn't dissapoint
Yeah I confess I wanted Palou to fail just for season competition sake, but he and his team rarely put a foot wrong this season and when they do they are doing an amazing job minimizing the damage. Today damage control became a legendary performance, he and his team are truly worthy champions (but who knows!).

I really wanted to be there this year but is wasnt in the cards...I have been wanting to see an Indy race since I was a kid and have yet to do so. Fav racing cars of all time.

I was expecting to see the reason there was a yellow car that took Grosjean out (not just the restart afterwards). Maybe drivers leaving the race isn't a hilight?

These extended highlights are crap in editing. 4min for a first lap incident, does not explain a few yellows, how Grojean is out, how ferrucci is a few laps down, or many questions I have after watching it. So bad NBC hates Indycar fans it treats them so badly. It’s probably the best racing in the world this year, but there is no way to watch it. Thanks.

Does IndyCar provide a free streaming in car camera view for their races like NASCAR does? If they do, where would I find it?
The Indycar app typically has in-car views you can watch the whole race. Under the "live audio and video" tab.
Why even pay for cable if half the stuff I want to watch starts moving to different services? I need to contemplate whether it’s worth it. I’m not paying more, that’s for sure.
Indycar is sooo much better than F1, besides the glitz and glamor and top notch sponsors, it’s the racing that matters to any true motor sports fan and Indycar wins by a mile in this category @F1 you need step up

That’s the type of penalties that F1 should give for taking another car out of the race: A 10-second stop and go. 5-second penalties in F1 are ridiculous.

A great race too bad golf is still over represented (sleep inducing effect is where golf ratings lie) in the c-suite of broadcast NnnnnnBC. At least Goodwood ran today and that was a bit of motorsport fun done right.
My dad watches golf for like 8 hours straight...7.5 hours of that he napping just light enough to know if you change the channel. They should sell golf asmr sleep.aids for old men.

Tred to save a few pounds and ran out of Fuel.
I thought that was odd, F1 do not fuel in the race, they must takes Yellow laps off the Race Total so the cars can make it.
That was a bad start but not worth 2 1/2 minutes of footage.
Not a lot of views of the City either, just that one shot along the straight and The Prince's Gates.
F1 has a much larger fuel tank to run the entire race which cuts down strategy options. That yellow that forced Power, Ericsson and others was just one lap too long without another yellow.
Also the thermal efficiency of an f1 car is way better, the drag is way better. I mean they are two completely different cars. It's like wondering why an airplane can't take you to the moon.

TSN showed this race in Canada, but even though there are 5 TSN channels, they skipped the first 30 (!) laps showing Wimbledon ending. This track is absolute garbage though. Zero character, no signature corners and it looks like a derelict industrial park.
I love open wheel racing. But I have never seen a series.. Indycar.. Do more to exclude their fans. I refuse to subscribe to peacock to watch a race. More bad choices indycar. F1 can televise an entire race with no commercials. Shame shame Indycar.
If you really enjoy Indycar and want the series to thrive - STOP WHINING AND COUGH UP $5 A MONTH FOR PEACOCK. CANCEL AFTER THE SEASON.
