watched this race from the back straight, was able to get so much closer than any F1 race i've attended - so close I got nailed by a few rogue tire marbles! Great experience for my first Indycar event. Huge respect for how hard they were pushing on these deteriorating Toronto streets.
Very unlucky for Colton Herta. The difference between winning and losing that race was decided by Scott McLaughlin's pit strategy and Toronto's tight pit lane. Congrats to Scott Dixon, one of the Indycar goats for sure.
Race win, number 52, Scott Dixon, legend. Don't think scott catch A.J Foyt, but you never know. Toronto, love this street track, many good races here over the years.
Another cracking race! 👍👍👍 massive congrats to the master that is Scott Dixon on the win and equaling the record of the old master that is Mario.😎😎😎 Big respect to all the Indy Car Legends.👍
This was my 11th year going to Indy Toronto. It never disappoints. We will see what happens next season. Streets of Toronto contract is expiring end of this season. Potential of moving to a new track.
@@leafs101ify None of that is true about Mosport or a track in Barrie. Year after year the Mosport rumour comes up. I think it traces its origin to 2015. There was serious doubt back then that the race would run in Toronto because of a date conflict with Pan Am Games. People thought the Honda Indy Toronto organizers (Green Savoree) would move it to Mosport. It was never an option and wound up with Green Savoree and Mosport releasing a joint press release that neither side was working on having it ever held there. Tony Cotman has looked at Mosport. The track is too fast for the cars and doesn't have run off areas IndyCar needs. The race will run on the streets of Toronto in 2023. The event's president, Jeff Atkinson addressed this when a City TV rookie reporter asked about moving it to Mosport years ago because of the noise and condos etc. He told them that the business model was to always race on downtown streets. She was trying to do an anti-Indy piece and he was well as anyone she tried interviewing among those living nearby shut her down.
A great race in Torronto, cogratulations to Scott Dixon who ties the great Mario Andretti's Indycar wins (52) in 21 years of career New Zealander🙂😁👏👏👏👍👍👍 By a Scuderia Ferrari fan 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Newgardens car was rocking in the pit because the left rear tire wouldnt come off after the nut was removed, the tire changer was yanking on it till it popped off. Had nothing to do with the fueler.
Was at this race yesterday. The track is desperately in need of new pavement. It is in horrible condition. Its an embarrassment for the city of Toronto. Such a fantastic event that brings in a lot of $$$ and they won't repave? Sad.
Seriously why do the commentators keep saying "right now"? We know they're talking about the present moment unless they specify otherwise, we didn't think he was closing the gap to the leader four weeks ago, there's no need to keep repeating "right now" over and over again.
yes! He clearly turns the wheel to the left, sure to counter a slide, but that meant he pushed him out. Must be a penalty incoming after the race right?
Yea, my first impression was that Rosenqvist turned into Rossi intentionally, but then I saw that Rosenqvist drove too hard into the corner and slid up into Rossi. I dont think he was tring to contact, but he should be penalized for incident accountability either way. Rossi got robbed!
@@theyard6958 Yeah Rosenqvist was either out of control and over-corrected as well, or the bump was intentional. My best guess is, and because these guys' talent borders on magic, it was a heat-of-the-moment intended bump.
he really shouldnt, the contact was barely anything. veekay didnt get anything for the contact with grosjean and power got away with his dive on grosjean lap 1 too. the only thing that differentiates these incidents is that rossi couldnt hold on to the wheel (i get that he couldnt) but where the 27 ends up doesnt matter because felix barely touched him. its exactly like ericsson and palou at road america, they barely touched but because palous car broke he was crying for a penalty. thats not how it works. ALSO rossi didnt get a penalty for doing the exact same thing at mid-ohio, despite rossi doing it ON PURPOSE
Mind boggling how the city of Toronto will invest into fixing all the potholes for the indy but won't do it for the rest of the city. The city is absolutely terrible to drive in regularily.
Seriously how many drivers in any racing series can say they have won at least 1 race in the last 18 seasons? Dixon is a beast.

Wish I coulda been there I was there during free friday tho great great track
Thanks for these race uploads INDYCAR...

Scott Dixon even after all these years is still very fast. Congrats on his 52nd victory
You MUST stand on either side of Lake Shore BLVD to really understand the power of Indy Cars, enjoyed all 3 days of Thunder!
HA yes! I was there
Scott Dixon has been racing in IndyCar seemingly forever and is still right there at the front! Great drive
@@3338MAN decent ? Winning 6 titles and 52 races is a lot more than ‘decent’ !
Absolute fantastic drive from scott, mid race the strategy just accelerated
Tied with Mario Andretti for IndyCar wins. Long overdue but shows how competitive this series is
A Indy em pista de ruas parece Rally-Urbano! Absurdo o que esses pilotos precisam se esforçar para não ir pro muro!
Grande diversão ontem!

I enjoy watching the change in the color of the rubber on the front tires through the turns into the straights.
Lap 47 at 17:38 was the craziest Pit Stop Under a Caution I’ve ever seen and very unfortunate for Alexander Rossi sad he didn’t finish in Toronto

Sad to see it go. I hope they'll bring montreal back.
Mosport would be an amazing race
Hopefully will stay in Toronto, Montreal already has F1
@@jr-gi1vn it's either mosport or a new track being built in Barrie area

Why are they still saying that Ericsson hit Palou in RA? Palou hit ericsson long after he passed Palou.

the terrible track surface is part of the charm! what does toronto have if you remove the bumps? turn 3? i didnt think so

They decided to put this race behind a paywall... Had to watch it on peacock
