This bible gives us a couple very unique features. First, it is a single column KJV, which is not too common. Second, it has an end of verse reference. I’m sure this isn’t a new concept, but it is something I had never seen before. It is a verse by verse layout, because that’s about the only way you can do it with the end of verse format, however, I do hope a single column paragraph KJV is in the future for Thomas Nelson. The only ones I know of in existence are the Clarion, and the Treveris, why uh are both quite expensive. This leaves the door wide open for this layout in a more economical form. With that said, I love the concept, and look forward to it coming in the NKJV soon! I also hope the NKJV is a compact, but it has more words so that may be a challenge. Meanwhile check out this new offering from our friends at Thomas Nelson! Links to purchase below. Note there are also economy editions! I have the Thomas Nelson KJV single column on paragraph that came out around 2000. The paper was meh and the binding even on the leather edition which I have, is glued. However, it has at the bottom not only the 1611 notes, but every edition that came after. If they republish this, I will get one immediately.
Hi Tim! This is clearly the same version of the red goatskin premier one (inside). Despite this not having no edge-lining, paste down etc., is this the same paper (36 GSM, opacity etc.) as the red goatskin premier edition?
I've been waiting forever to see the layout of this Bible. That's something I wish companies would do more. I've known this is coming for a couple months now, but they didn't show the inside layout until a couple days before release, and this video is the first to show good images of it. I think the comfort print and the overall layout gives this Bible the edge over the Holman KJV single column. The paper looks good too.
If I click the link for the leather version the picure doesnt look like the bible your showing would you mind putting that number from the back of your bible here in the comments, just so I can double check. Maybe christian book just put up the wrong picture
I like this Bible a lot and will give it some more consideration. You mentioned the "end of verse" reference system. I love this system. Nelson used to offer tihis in their KJV Giant Print Bible 883C. This Bible not only had end of verse references, which they called "Read-Along References" but it also had "Read-Along Translations" for words not in common use today. I very much wish Nelson would come out with this 883C once again. I feel sure there are many like myself that would welcome it's return and it would be so helpful to new Bible students. Thank you and God bless. P.S. After further review it looks like this Bible covers the points I mentioned about references and translations. Thank you Thomas Nelson.
@@anickelsworthbiblereviews thank you. Yes I was curious, I ordered a leather one awhile back for $36 and seen it was originally $110. I just clicked on the link in the description and they are $36 too… maybe that’s the normal price and I didn’t get a crazy deal like I thought 😂 But looking forward to receiving it and seeing the quality in person. Thanks for the good video!
I like the kjv by trinity Bible society because where nelson had two references TBS had four in Joshua 22:1. Verse three has seven references in TBS Whenever I bought leather binding from nelson pages started coming out and if you want it fixed you pay shipping both ways which is to much money!
Great review as always, Tim. Verse by verse in single column feels to me an odd design choice, I wish they’d gone all the way and set it in paragraph format. But let’s not carp, ribbons apart this is clearly another great quality KJV from TN. And you’re absolutely right about TN genuine leather. As noted before they totally own this “tweener” category and don’t look like giving it up to anyone else anytime soon.
I think the verse by verse is better for this design. End of verse references would be clumsy in paragraph format. But…here’s hoping this is a step in that direction!

This TN KJV end of verse single column bible is really my dream bible since it's release. Really love this bible😍. I wish I could have these bible, I watch your videos with a little envy as we don't have these quality bible in our place. Also, the price is prohibited for me🥺 Btw nice review sir. it has just 43,000 cross-references at the end of verses which is almost double less than what average reference bible has, not to mention it is 5x less than tbs westminster reference bible. It is not eorthy the money even with "Full 22,000 translator notes provide a look into the thinking of the translators with alternative translations" , hmm i mean, really? The Nelson KJV I had as my first self-bought Bible had end-of-verse references/notes. I love the system, so very convenient.
Tim, Cambridge has a paragraph Bible that is single column too.
I just ordered the Premier Version in Red Goatskin. Look forward to receiving it.
This is my favorite layout the Single column verse by verse. In this and in the NASB 1995 new judge.
Such a delight to watch these videos so professionally done. GOD Bless
You’re always so kind! Bless you.
Thank you, Tim 🌹🌹🌹🌹
I have this bible and its def becoming one of my favorites. I added red art gilding to the pages and its even more beautiful now.
Excellent review. I think I'm sold on this one!
Thomas nelson or holman single column bible
Hi Tim! This is clearly the same version of the red goatskin premier one (inside). Despite this not having no edge-lining, paste down etc., is this the same paper (36 GSM, opacity etc.) as the red goatskin premier edition?
Generally it is not. If it is the 36gsm it will be clearly indicated.
Thanks Tim @@anickelsworthbiblereviews
What kind of leather is this genuine leather? Cowhide or pigskin?
Cowhide.
Maybe I missed it, but do the leather-like versions use the same paper as the leather edition?
Leather yes, premier collection no.

Not quite yet! But thank you!
I’m coming from reading from a Thompson Chain to Thomas Nelson the the red letter is so much better!

I just checked, the picture looks like a thinner bible but it is the correct link.
I can post the ISBN tomorrow.

I was ready to buy this edition until you revealed that it’s red letter!👎🏽
Excellent, review bro. Nichols.
I would love to see more non red letter editions. Seems we are in the minority there.
I really like this!
How much does it cost?
Depends on the cover you pick. There are links in the description.

Their Instant Reference bible is end of verse with two columns! Just less references.
That is really unique…

The Old Nelson Open Bibles had end of verse References
Thank you for your review😊! Are the references in a different font style or size, to differenciate? Thank you again😊
Different font and slightly smaller.

Which one is better the holman or Thomas Nelson single column. Please let me know thanks or does the thineline one you showed read better.
Two totally different layouts. Not really comparable.
Ooooh... I like end of verse references 🙂
Thomas Nelson do end of verse references for some of their Nkjv bibles
I’m sure they do. I’ve just never seen them before.

Most of Nelson’s bibles don’t have the full set of references. I’m sure there’s a reason.
You made a video about the cepher Bible but turn the comments off for it that’s mighty convenient, it’s ok I know your kind haha
And you took the time to fish out another video and make a totally unrelated comment. I know your kind as well. Cheers to you sir.
