3rd thought,...God gave me an intuitive thought,....On the back on a coin I got from a group of derelicts it says " To Thy Own Self Be True"!!❤
That guy that said 12 step people say they're dry drunk or white knuckling it about people who just stop. Don't put your 12 step hate on us. He is bashing 12 step people. If it works for him great. But for this recovering Alcoholic... Im with Dino. If I'm still kicking the dog, lying, cheating and stealing... I'm not recovering. So yeah I'm a chronic real alcoholic. If I could have stopped by myself I would have. My Soul had a huge hole in it and The 12 steps together with my connection with my Higher Power and the relationships I've made in The Rooms have made a huge difference. I am a better Woman than I was when I walked in my first meeting. His message isn't for us kind of people.
Is it more important to be able to say that you’re sober, or to be able to say that you’re healing? I hope that deciding to, or being able to, spontaneously recover means that a person has decided to spontaneously work on themselves to be a better human too. Can’t treat a symptom without treating a cause.

To me this guy is promoting spontaneous recovery is like making a choice to not drink or drug, completely ignoring the disease component of addition.
The disease is real and he makes it all sound like a moral decision!
He’s over simplifying the disease in my opinion.
