  • This animation demonstrates INmune Bio's research which focuses on the signals needed to transition NK cells from rest to lytic function, and on why some tumours are more resistant to NK killing.

I read the book "Immune" which tries to simplify the immune system and use minimal loaded words as possible so we understand it easily. When Mr. Teacher (For the sake of this comment) talked about allergic reactions, I told the whole class about IgG antibodies, allergens, Mast Cells releasing histamine and than Mr. Teacher said "Wow, you know more about this than I do!"

Cancer cells also develop ways to inactivate immune cells by producing molecules that make them stop working.” They also change their local environment, so it becomes a hostile place for immune cells to work.

weird... Cancer cells are our own cells though, not an antigen. Having mutated dna is one thing, but to develop in such a way that you are describing is even more wild. How could cancer cells "evolve" in a way that protects themselves.
It makes sense that antigens evolved to do that, but cancer cells?????
Edit: Just to be clear, I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm just saying that's fcking terrible lol. Our own cells operate selflessly, for the betterment of the entire organism. Even our own immune cells go through a brutal selection process where over 97 percent of them are killed . Self-preservation is almost never a thing with our own cells because it's always about "the greater good" (what's best for the community of cells , the system, or the entire organism.
So the fact that not only are cancer cells reproducing rapidly, they are also doing MORE on top of that?!?!?!? wtf

@@vanessamcgrew4486 that is because cancer cells have lost its ability to respond to both external and internal antigrowth signals, lost its ability to commit apoptosis (programmed cell death) and lost its ability to correct faulty genes. Because of this its more likely to accumulate mutations and some of those mutations tend to be useful for the cancer cell's survival. Normal cells naturally have genes that code for enzyme pathways that regulate and suppress immune cell activity, these genes can be overexpressed in cancer cells which allows them to produce extracellular proteins that suppress immune cells. This area around the tumour containing tumour specific proteins is whats known as the tumour microenvironment and thats what most researchers aim to disrupt to allow immune cells to carry out their usual duty.

@@vanessamcgrew4486 yeah i mean.. once a cluster of cells become cancerous, then they develop rapid mutations when dividing compared to other cells, therefore making it much higher chance to develop mutations that allow it to hide from the immune system

Something in our environment has altered the response of our immune system. I believe the NK cells can be instructed on how to recognize cancer cells through our own thoughts and words. I read something where scientists received specific instructions from A.I. on how this is done bu of course this process was not revealed. When I had 3 lumps under my right breast I talked to my NK cells instructing them to find the mutated cells and eliminate them and within 20 minutes they disappeared.

With this also allow the natural killer cells to inadvertently damage our own tissues given that it doesn't take as much to activate them?

I heard it functions very much the same as the Alpha Beta T Cells, even in the absence of T-Cell Receptor
