Appreciate the review! Generally speaking there are fewer autofocus issues at lower resolutions/ frame rates because the processor is less stressed. Might be good to repeat the test at 4k and 6k :)
Hey great video, just one thing, Sigma, Lumix, Leica lenses are all considered 1st party lenses. This was stated by Panasonic on various occasions, that is the point of the L mount alliance. So the term 3rd party lenses does not exist on L mount cameras at this time.

Awesome video! Love the quality and content you put out! Can you do some test for 1080FHD 120 fps? They say the AF is not reliable under those settings. Can’t seem to find much more on that. Would greatly appreciate the help.

@@noahusescameras it's just interesting why all the videos are shown in 4k, and the rest of the formats are as if no one needs them. I have S1 and I shoot in MOV 1080p 4.2.2 50 fps 100mb. For me, this is a good picture that weighs little, and 4K takes up a lot of memory on disks, here.
@@albertos3636 It's an odd thing to buy a Panasonic S1 for full hd. The reason so many reviewers dont mention it is because the camera line skips the HD already. So not only is it lower resolution, but youre also gathering less light, and its a low quality version of 1080p. Worse than a native 1080p sensor. There's not much of a reason to have a camera that's large, bulky, with bad autofocus and a 6k open gate mode, only to use it in 1080. There are much better options for a clean 1080 on the market.
@@DrWNoLs If the S5 2 had a full 4k frame, then it’s a different matter, but shooting with a 50p crop is bad. 4k 50p takes up a lot of disk space, crop mode and very expensive memory cards. That's why I shoot in MOV 1080p 50fps

Not with Lumix yet. I have kind of decided not to adapt to Lumix because they offer so many options. I do hear that ef lenses work well though.

The AF will switch to contrast detect if you shoot over 60 fps. I think 24-30 fps still fine for Phase Detect AF.

Yes it does because it's cropped, if shooting full HD 60fps or 120fps then it doesn't uses PDAF.

60fps seemed to work for me I tested it right after I put this video out
