I had to sell my A7IV a few months ago due to a family emergency and I was devastated. It was my second camera, my first being a Panasonic GX85. Always missed my Panasonic, but loved my Sony's AF. Now, I feel like everything happened for a reason. I can finally go back to Panasonic again!

Phase detect! This is the one thing that stifled Panasonic from competing with Sony and Canon for video. I feel like they were ahead of everyone with 4K 60, no record limits, 10-bit video, & industry-leading IBIS with the GH5. And after taking so long to finally change, they’re now playing catch-up. But I think they are the leaders in video innovation and have an opportunity to really compete again. I have been rooting for them and after the GH6 still with the old contrast-based auto-focus wondered if they were just stubborn to their own demise. Very glad to see they finally adjusted!

First to a BMD 6K Pro, then the X-H2, now I have to re-evaluate again and might have to pivot to the S5II or S5IIX. Darn, is it a good time for cameras at around 2000-2500€.

Im glad Panasonic is making a comeback, they kind of fell off the face of the earth but they are definitely coming back strong. In its price range you really can't buy a better hybrid camera, it's very balanced in both photo and video performance. The S5ii is good enough for both professional photographers and cinematographers on a budget.
I had The lumix S1R and Sony A7c and I’m happy to say I’m leaving Sony for this camera cause it’s expensive to invest into 2 different mount systems and it finally has computable autofocus 😭😭
I think I am going to grab this. I was on the fence about grabbing the previous s5 because of autofocus. But being able to grab this, and some SURUI anamorphic lenses for it. Use the lenses on the s5 and also maybe a sigma FP as a cheap B camera. Yeah, this is the system to be with in 2023 imo.
I think it’s about time I said this, I’d watch anything potato jet makes. He could be talking about a new rabbit that Toyota made, and I’ll watch that.

@@PolluxChung not necessarily. The smaller form factor still has it's purposes. FF is not the solution to everything.
@@EmeraldAudiovisual idk I’ve had a m43 Lumix forever and yes I can get nice footage and it kinda works sure… but you deff have to put in more work with certain lenses but there’s always noise in the shadows and when you wanna go wider than 35mm you will never get those shots w blurry background unless you get a super fast lens but see options are limited. Moving to the S line is such a better idea honestly
@@iamjiroe Well, there is no other camera out there apart from the GH6, that will shoot 1080p300 for one. 1080p240 with audio. There are lots of reasons to go with MFT. There are also lots of reasons to go with FF. It comes down to, what you want to do or achieve.
@@EmeraldAudiovisual yes I mean I do have a m43 camera and I use it. But I do think it’s a bit of a challenge in many situations to film w m43
18:30 are you mixing your audio while standing, having your speakers pointed way above your head? :D
Great video. Recently switched to S5ii from Sony a7C and a7R4. Absolutely LOVE it. One thing I miss tho from Sony, is the Super35 Crop applicable to Photo mode as well, enabling me to reach 1.5 or more times the focal length of my lenses... Now I have to buy an additional lense to cover way previous range...
Hi, i don’t have camera yet and really struggling with choice from s5 ii or a7lv , witch one would u recommend?
For photo and video 50/50 , weddings, UA-cam, commercial etc
TONY NORTHRUP def saw the Bokeh Blink. He was bummed about it. Great video Jet!
Gene: "to my hands"
Me: drops all context of the video and focus on Gene's hands lol
Loving the roling office and change of scenery.
Very tempting to upgrade from the original S5, Great vid again potato!
Can’t wait to see what Panasonic will bring for the S1 ii-H. I think that will become The videographer’s camera. With the Netflix certification and all.
Yeah if there is an S1H M2 it will be a beast
@@Docfly62 well, there will be one for sure. We just don’t know if it will be S1H-m2 or S2H or eventually both. Also we don’t know when.
18:27 The almighty S1H ii is coming for ya
This is my Nxt camera to buy
Im glad Panasonic is making a comeback, they kind of fell off the face of the earth but they are definitely coming back strong. In its price range you really can't buy a better hybrid camera, it's very balanced in both photo and video performance. The S5ii is good enough for both professional photographers and cinematographers on a budget.
I loved Panasonic.. Moved to Sony, and haven't looked back since. But this does look kind of interesting.
This camera is perfect!
Wow, they fixed the IBIS !!! That camera is gonna do numbers.
Of course I see this as soon as I buy the S5 😭 I wish the S5 got the Phase AF too
If I weren't already knee deep in Sony, I would get this. Great camera and great value
I think it’s about time I said this, I’d watch anything potato jet makes. He could be talking about a new rabbit that Toyota made, and I’ll watch that.

Amazing! All we need now is internal ND and then you don't need anything else for run and gun!
Your videos are amazing, I would like to request for a lens filter and types video. Hoping you could deep dive into the topic. Thanks

First-rate presentation, thanks. I'm low end, strictly amateur, and hope to one day see an affordable entry-level cropped sensor camera that has the great Panasonic IBIS + Sony AF. Good to see Panasonic finally moving beyond the DFD system, though from what I've seen on YT it's not all the way there yet.
