- This will walk you through the basics you through how I replaced a cracked / broken BMH style jet in the jetted tub (Aqualux brand jacuzzi tub) in my bathroom.
I am absolutely not an expert on this and created this video only because I couldn't get anyone to service this in my area and wasn't able to find a whole lot of help online. Hope this saves you a little time and frustration. - Комедії
Man I didn’t believe it when I typed in about my parents tub and this came up. It’s the same tub, jet in the same location everything. This must have been a factory flaw. Also I noticed that big hard plastic pipe was laying against the jet and fittings. I believe that putting stress on it. Man thanks so much for your post. It’s helped me a lot where to find parts.
Thanks for making this video, I have been in the same situation trying to repair a cracked jet that was leaking! I had been trying for a year to get someone to repair it. and multiple times I have searched for parts and tutorials to do it myself. So glad I found your video! Took it apart this afternoon and ordered the new part! Amazon didn't have it anymore but I searched the part number and found quite a few options. Thank you!
Cannot thank you enough for this video. Best resource I have found for my exact problem. Great camera work as well to see what you were doing
Thanks I have been trying to get help on this for a year…much appreciated.
Life saver!! Finished this tonight. Thank you for sharing
My pleasure. My hope in making this videos was that someone else wouldn’t have to figure out each step, like I had to.
Happy to help 😊
Much appreciated! Thanks for doing this video!
Thanks for the helpful video. And congrats on taking this repair on. it seems like a lot of work just to get a jet working. I'm gonna pass on this one and just live with my broken jet
Thanks! At the time, I was getting my house ready to sell and figured it would help add value, which is the real reason I took on this project. :)
Love the cat!
Thank you for this video! Any suggestions on how to get the pvc pieces off the cracked jet with limited cutting of current flex tubing?
No way I've ever heard of. I'd say that, if you have it opened up and are replacing PCP, save yourself the hassle of replacing the jets in the next few years and just upgrade them at the same time. The plastic brittles over the years and they're bound to crack and leak... only a matter of time
You need to apply the glue too both parts that you're connecting and push it on a little bit off center so you can twist it into place and then hold it in place for 5=10 seconds to prevent any push back. That's standard practice for all plastic pipes and pvc pipes suggest using primer first and especially with all purpose glue that's why they sell it in a kit. Don't use primer on abs though
I don't know everything there is about the best approach to gluing all types of materials, but this may help others. I was just trying to get something out there because there was almost nothing on the topic at the time I made this video.
Any suggestions how to remove and replace the jet thats on the wall side of the tub? Can't reach inside unless you remove the entire tub...
Nope - this only works for those what would be accessible to the outside of the tub.
My jet is leaking towards the wall in my house. There is no way to get to it when I remove front panel. Do I have to remove whole tub to replace the jet? There is no way I can cut a whole to excess the jet either
Yeah, I'm just some average Joe and don't really know what to say... other than I'm so surprised that there is no industry to support maintenance on these things. It's like they're designed to have a 5-10 year life expectancy and they are totally replaced. Crazy!
would this be the same for a Espree 6060 too?
I wish I knew anything about this particular model of tub, but I don't. If it has the same style jet then yes I will be the same to repair.
My jets don't turn on at all and make zero noise
Is this the problem?
I'd be sure to check the power first. Check your breaker box and/or use a voltage meeter for the power wires to ensure it's getting electricity. If not that, I would make sure the control panel is working and swap that out if you can.
My leak is on the back side jet. It is in the tubing on the outside of the tub. Any suggestions how to make this repair without taking out the entire tub?
I'm not sure I know of a way to get back that far without removing the tub. Someone else may have the solution you're looking for...
How were you able to determine which one was leaking?
@@romenaholbert357 I was replacing the jet because the plastic housing surrounding the actual jet had cracked and would have resulted in leaking. I caught it right as the crack happened and avoiding using this tub until the jet could be replaced. I had a hell of a time finding someone to replace it, which resulted in this DIY project and video
@@chrisroecker ah. Thank you.
Do you have a link to the kit on amazon?
I don't. Searching for a BMH jet kit would be my starting spot if I was going to ever do something like this again
This is exactly what mine has. Can I ask, what did your old jet have? Where was the crack?
It cracked where the actual jet meets the surrounding housing. You can actually see the old/cracked one lying on the floor around the 1:35 min. mark
Thanks that is exactly how mine looks also. Hoping I can fix this and get back to normal. Thanks all the way from South Texas!
One more question. I see you had 4 total glues. Did you use the other two? I see you used the blue and multi purpose one. What about the purple and light brown?
I think I ended up with one extra b/c they came in a multi-pack. Essentially, nothing outside of what I explain in the video was used in this project.
