That’s a fact. I was in the special forces they teach us protection of high subjects. When I got out I was working security for a certain politician in Mexico and he was a pretty cool guy invited me and my girlfriend to his Christmas party I said hell no because I’m not gonna be there enjoying myself I’m gonna be working if I go. There’s certain choices you can’t make if you’re not thinking the right way during those kinds of jobs.

OG is 100% correct. The OG never said that your homies can’t be security for you, when things get heated. With anyone of high status, no matter how much of a brotherhood of protection you have with your homies, 99% of the time, you’re all going to be out interacting and having fun, which can lead to a possible slip in defense. But when you hire “Legitimate” security, they are there to work, and not hang out. And like OG said, if my homie hires me and a squad to do security, in that moment, we aren’t homies, I’m hired to protect you and not party with you. And once the event is over, our relationship shifts back to brothers. Having the protection of your homies and hired security is two different things. It’s like in the movie “The Firm”. One of the security guys was asked why he was being so suspicious, and he answered by saying: “My job is to be suspicious, even when I have nothing to be suspicious about”. Therefore, hired security is not just there to deescalate a situation, but to read the body language of those in the room and to also scan the room to watch for the potential of something to pop off.

I fully agree. When you hire someone who is a professional at what they do, you get the best results. Your Homeboys are not going to give you the best results in the area of security. They are not hanging with you to solely look out for your safety and well being. Even though they care about you, their primary objective is to have a good time. If someone steps to you, they will have your back, but they might also be the reason someone stepped to you. Because they are loud talking, mean mugging, and trying to talk to the ladies in the club. Even if my best friend was a doctor, I won’t get the best care by having him give me a physical when we’re hanging out. I might ask him for medical advice, but at the end of the day I’m going to schedule an appointment with my primary care physician. In the same way, if I was a rapper with millions of dollars, and worldwide attention, I’m not going to seek professional protection from my homeboys. I use to work at a very popular club many years ago in a particular big city, and I'll tell you the difference between rappers from back in the day to now is that there's no professionalism in it today. I personally think that it's due to the internet/social media independent hustle of the up and coming rappers of today. There's no major label behind behind Von, Drakeo, Dolph, Moe3, XXX. Those cats had major labels as business partners/distributors, and that's totally different compared to back in the day. These rappers are making money quicker because of social media, so they don't have to listen or take orders from people that much. So therefore they think having homeboy security is all they need, but we know homeboy security isn't working nowadays because of how many rappers are dying right now compared to back in the day. Your homeboys aren't professional trained to keep you alive once other rappers and street cats put money on your head for your life to be taken. Homeboy security just come to the clubs and venues with you in order if it's a fight that might break out. I won't name any names, but I've seen big time rappers come out with paid security with high level training. They're sweeping/casing/observing the club/venue before the rapper arrives there. There constantly looking/watching certain suspect people if something seems out of order. These cats travel separately from the artist but they're always around, alert, watching, observing, so the artist doesn't end up getting hurt and killed. Your homeboy/gangbang partner isnt military trained/nor is he an ex cop. So there's no comparison in this conversation. We'll continue to see these types of situations because you can't tell these youngsters anything, while they continue to end up in these situations.

Even in a blood fam business, when loved ones are hired to head various rolls and or positions within the family business they in turn delegate the ground floor/hands on interactive tasks preferably to bona fide professionals. If not then even so they don’t or can’t be drinking, partying and or fraternizing outside their immediate security scopes. I speak from experience and it can be distractingly tough doing security for your family joints because you got to isolate that fam vibe and be strict and hard on everybody. Security is hired to do a job which is protecting you and have obligations based on that job which demonstrates their professionalism, you’re homeboys aren’t obligated to do anything. They don’t have to listen to you, nor do they have to defend you and hold you down when things pop off. Security protects you with the awareness that they’re putting their lives on the line for your protection because it’s the job that they signed up for.
