Love it Danie. Remind me of the Flinstone house decor. Only I would of painted each shelf nook different colors that way looks more fun piece. Plese do more of this theme. Love to see more.😍
Side note. I'm still OBSESSED with the resin & paint cards diy. It's inspired me to try something similar but with a color wheel theme. I paint & think it would be cool to have in my art room. And the shelf is fantastic.
Please don't ever change who you are, I love your personality. Me at 65 ppl say grow up, I say but I am grown just not the way you want me to be. This is a perfect rendering of the picture just love it.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and responsible covid note at the beginning! Thank you for clarifying and taking things seriously and encouraging others to do the same!
Oh, Danie, I wish that I had found you during the lockdown. It was such a lost time for me. Your smile and eternal optimism would have made my days brighter. The good news is that I have found you, and love watching your creative process. Thank you!
Girl, you have a real talent!! I wish I could binge watch DIY Danie every single day! I have been blown away by every single thing you have created, redecorated and made for less!! You are the best out there! You need an HGTV show!!
This was so great! I related to the "call an engineer" so much 😂 having a partner as an engineer always comes in handy - they seem to always figure things out LOL
I looked at the original pix and thought, “No”, but you impressed me with what you came up with. I’ve been married to a custom cabinet maker for over forty years, so I don’t attempt building things myself, but sure enjoy all your ideas. (Now, if you need something out of fiber - sewing, quilting, knitting, etc - then I’m your gal!)
Same here I did not think she could pull this off even though shes a literal magician and pulls everything else off this just looked to complicated and way too hard to make but yet again she hit it out of the park
I just want to say i love you Dani because you show us your mistakes and when you can’t figure something out it’s refreshing to see that even someone who is as established and talented as you run into brick walls as well. I appreciate it 😍
The imperfect cuts give it more of a natural look that goes really well with the patterns of openings on the front of the shelf... I really think this was spot on
1st: Thank you for the unedited clip (giggle) 2nd: You did SOO GOOD! I'm VERY impressed... and envious. 3rd: Your personality and fun-ness, is good therapy for the rest of us stuck at home because of the pandemic. THANK YOU
I love it! Thank you so much for the reference because I've seen this bookshelf on Instagram and I couldn't find it on the web. Will I try to make it? Yes, but probably using cardboard instead of wood.
thats what i was thinking lol i think i will get an existing bookshelf and put a cardboard cover over it so i can just use scissors and then plaster over it all
You did an amazing job on this project Danie. I can even see it in a bathroom, with towels, decorative baskets to hold stuff you don't want to see and a plant or two. Even a platform base or legs to make it taller....possibilities are endless just like your talent!
I thought this, just put the front piece flat, lay the bookcase on it to draw where the holes match up, jigsaw them out then attach??? Lol looks good tho,I like it 😀
@@xylindria9077 I'm thinking this too. It would be alot of maneuvering to cut the holes on a table. I wondered why she didnt cut it in sections then fill in the cracks. Would be a good use for smaller scraps of wood if you have it. This is my fav Danie dupe so far!!
@@TheRaquel84 I thought about this, too. Place the piece on sawhorses and use 1/4" or 3/8" plywood instead of MBF. She wouldn't have to use such a downward force to ease her wrists. Maybe a Dremel on the 1/4" plywood?
This is amazing! Does anyone else think it looks almost reminiscent of something carved out of stone? I wonder how it would look with a stone texture and color. 🤔
You, my dear...are AMAZING!!! I really love this look. I lived through the 70's when ideas like this first came on the scene. I have to admit this is a new and exciting concept, and you killed it. I enjoy your personality and your creativity and I am a big fan.

yea lol like let me make this out of paper mache and joint compound. this is why the bookshelf IS almost $800- because a worker had to spend the time to build it too! always worthwhile to make your own pieces when you have the tools and resources but yea this isnt really a diy lolololol
Danie, I am so proud of you! When I saw this idea, I wondered if you had met your match. But, even more than that, I love seeing how you put these problem pieces together with such pitch perfect positivity. You CAN rock! 🇨🇦🤩
I love you DIYs bc they are real quality and look legit and not just cheap/easy! bc diy does mean cheap or easy it means do it yourself! And that you did!!!
Even before you're done with this piece you can see why the original was so expensive there is so much labor involved. Your workmanship on the DYII is beautiful. Thanks for the inspiration you're awesome!

I was super stoked to see this DIY since I’ve been drooling over that shelf for a while. Then you showed a screenshot from “The Honest Carpenter” and I was like “Holy ***^! I know that guy!” - He worked with my husband at a bookstore for several years, and then decided to go into carpentry. I remember being excited for him, because it just seemed so natural to him and he seemed so passionate about it. Glad to see he’s still out there going strong! BTW - your shelf replica looks great to me! Might even try my hand at it when I have a little more time to work on a project!

Every week I’m more excited about what you’re doing than the last. So thank you for what you are doing!
