Come hang! Either way, I am SO STOKED to finally be able to share this kitchen renovation process with you starting next week! Thank you for being so patient and so supportive. SEE YOU ALL IN MY KITCHEN NEXT WEEK! 💓
As someone who has lived in their home for 20 years (and hasn't gotten half the projects you have finished) I can tell you that you accomplished an amazing amount of work in that first year. 👏 Can't wait to see what you do next 💜
Can’t wait for the kitchen Reno vids. I’ve loved loved loved your Reno’s to your beautiful house. I love your wedding dress. It was perfect. So glad Chris is on the mend, hope he’s up and racing very soon. ❤❤❤
I feel like I’ve been here since the beginning. I came over when you and Dani built the table. Two house renovations, two weddings, you both have had a busy year. Congratulations on everything. I love small houses. Can’t wait to get back in one.
I learned about your channel when you collaborated with Dani on an upcycling challenge, I think? And it was just before you bought this house. It's amazing to see everything you've done pretty much all by yourself, or close to it! That, plus a wedding, plus changing your job, plus helping Chris with his injuries...just an amazing amount of things to be super proud of, and I can't wait to see the kitchen!!
Just wanted to let you know I started watching DIY Danie after she came and helped you with your house. She’s as crazy and fun as you. So glad I found you both. Keep working hard and putting out those videos. 💜
Great catch up video. It’s like sitting and catching with a friend. Congrats on your first year in the house! And on all you have accomplished. I look forward to your ever evolving diy changes or updates. I wouldn’t expect anything less. Our style changes as we grow, and that means redoing something we did. Great chat, friend. 💛
GIRL! You've done so much more than me! I'm year 5 in my house and I've only done a handful of projects! HAHA....Life takes over and wants take a backseat to needs!!!! I love watching your journey! You're inspiring me and giving me new ideas for where I can take my spaces!!!!!
I’m just learning that being a homeowner means having projects forever and I’m so cool with that. On this journey with you, friend! Thanks for the love. 💓
I am gobsmacked at all you did while working full time, going through your partner's injuries, getting ready for a wedding, hosting a wedding, Whew!!!! Kudos to you. I think your living room is lovely; so blagggggghhhhhh to those viewers who were mean.
The house is so beautiful . And I love the backyard wedding . You looked so happy and beautiful. I used to do wedding photography, I’ve seen so many elaborate weddings , so much money spent and it doesn’t make the marriage last any longer . I my self did a small backyard wedding, it was so stress free and fun . It will be 36 yrs next month. Many blessing to you both for a long happy life together.
I can’t believe how much you got done in just one (ish) year, WITH. A full time job! You inspire me daily 🥰 I seriously can’t wait to see the rest of your kitchen reno, because your cozy little breakfast nook is my favorite project you’ve done so far 🙌🏾
I don’t understand why people come on these channels just to criticize if I don’t like and idea I don’t comment or give a thumbs up. What I say is you do you boo let me do me! I love everything thing you do you encourage me to use tools like a boss thank great work on your house.
Love this video and you sharing the process. We bought our 1950’s house Oct 2021 too and it has been reassuring to follow your realistic process. We have made great progress but still have a list.
This makes me so happy! I used to be so opposed to living in a cape and now I absolutely love it. There will always be a list. And, I’m totally cool with it. 💓
I really love these types of videos bc I think we tend to focus on things we didn't do/things that still need to be done that it is nice to take a breathe, review everything we have managed to get done, and congratulate ourselves.
Your style is just so cool, comfy and welcoming. I tear up when I watch some of the diy videos (with super talented ladies) because you show other girls and woman that we are strong and can do construction, woodworking etc. Thank you for that❤😊
I always loved woodwork and DIY and I too helped my Dad. So I can certainly identify! 😊 You have accomplished so much since buying this house and so much of life has happened. Good for you Sam! Congratulations on everything! Best wishes from Toronto 😊🎉💐💜🇨🇦
Girl! Give yourself a pat on the back! You deserve it. You’ve done SO much to make your house a home in only a year and while having a full time job. Seriously impressed and I too dream to own my own house soon. Keep it up, I cannot wait for the kitchen reno series.
This was one of the best compilation videos I've ever seen. It was good to get a recap of the entire home process. I discovered your channel a few weeks ago, subscribed and have been binge watching to catch up. I've seen the entire playlist for the house renovations, the kitchen, bath and deck. Whew, I'm almost current, of course there's other ones prior to house to view a few at a time. You're remarkable with your abilities to do all the reno and projects you do. I like your dad helping out and his personality. I've been subscribed to DIY Danie for a few years and saw you on her channel, she's pretty talented and has great content also. Glad I found you and look forward to what's to come. Thank you.
I love your channel and your determination on finishing what you set out to do. You’ve accomplished a lot in your first year of owning your home! Congratulations on your marriage! May you and Chris have a lifetime of happiness together!
There is nothing wrong with living in your home and then realise you don't like some things. Never feel like you have to justify your home or what you want to change. I'm blown away by how amazingly beautiful you and Chris looked on your wedding day. So glad you go to live your dream wedding in your beautiful house . Can't wait for the future videos from you when you have the time. As i am not from the US, can you please explain what a Cpe Cod home is . I think i have a rough idea but would love to know. Thanks Xx
Thank you for all of the love! It's just the style of the home - a lot of them were built this way on Long Island! Slanted ceilings upstairs are a big feature!
I obviously don't know you personally but your warm personality comes across when you talk on videos. You seem like a genuinely nice person and fun person to hang around with! I think we'd be friends in real life:) You have achieved a lot. So excited to see the rest of your journey!
Congratulation on an amazing year Sam! I'm a weekend warrior so it amazes me how much you have been able to accomplish! Looking forward to seeing the kitchen and I love your idea for vaulted ceilings!
I wouldn't feel bad about not having things set after a year. I bought my house 18 months ago, we aren't doing renovations, and we still have multiple rooms that aren't set up the way we want them. You have accomplished so much in this house in such a short time. And I am so impressed that so much of it was done while working a full time job. I work remotely and even with no commute it is still such an ordeal to just walk out to my shop to do things after work. Listening to you talk about all this is so infectious and I just want to have you around all the time as a friend to tell me that I am capable of doing all the things I want to do.
You have done a fantastic job!! It doesn’t matter what anyone says about what you’ve done or haven’t done. I love watching your channel and your style. I’m so happy you’re doing this full time. Congratulations on your wedding! I’m so happy for the support you get from your hubby and family 😊keep up the good work!!!
Sam you are a wonderful inspiration (a Wonder Woman) I’m buggered and actually needed a coffee just watching and listening to you 😂 Congratulations on everything you’ve achieved. Enjoy your home and keep on being you
As a fellow LI cape owner that has dormered the home I would not suggest the vaulted cieling in the living room. Lots of expense for no additional living space. dormer the home and put 3 bedrooms upstairs with a large walkin closet and your additional bathroom. Great vids btw.
Thank you for sharing your years progress of your home renovations. My husband & I bought a fixer upper too the same time you & your husband did. Our home was built in 1949 and needed updating (as still does). It's funny, because our lists are pretty much the same when it comes to what we want to do. I'm looking forward to more of your videos to come. once again, thank you for sharing! 🤗
Wow! That’s a huge accomplishment, not only in terms of DYI, but also so many life changes/challenges that you tackled with grace and consideration of your own needs. Bravo for ALL of that. You are the American version of Dani, I think you should definitely come back to Canada for another project with her. Looking forward to seeing all the changes to your kitchen.
25:10 yes I'm still here!😊 Really enjoyed this year (ish) in review. Love the creativity you always display! Please never apologize for wanting to improve on improvements... my wife and I are in our 36th year in our home, and we're constantly updating something! Some of our spaces have been re-re-re-done and probably will be again! P.S. you were a lovely bride!
It's looking great!! You're definitely waay further along than me lol. I bought my home in Nov 2015. I'm hoping to actually get walls this year!! It's a long story so I won't share it now, but I keep on moving on.
@@diyhuntress thanks for the encouragement!! It's been a rough road and definitely quite a few bumps in the road and hardship in life. I completely gutted the house, I ran all the electricity, plumbing and everything to refinish the hardwood floors with my own 2 hands all while working a full-time job and raising 5 kids by myself. This is the year I make some serious progress!!
You have achieved so much in such a short space of time. The house is beautiful. You and Chris looked so happy on your wedding day and you both looked amazing. Your dress was beautiful. Xx
Sam our lives had parallel journeys as we got our first flip house at the same time so seeing you demo the bathroom - ya we're doing three but the worst was the first. Had TONS of electrical wiring to do as the previous owner did some unique fire-starting projects in wiring. My favorite was how he soldered (no tape) the romex behind the walls in the bathrooms (overloading the circuits as well) but he did separate the wires with his hands thinking that was safe. No junction box of course. No way to spot it unless you did demo work - oh that was terrifying. Or the heater where he used two 120v breakers instead of a 220 breaker and yes - one of the breakers ran another circuit. How did we not have a fire! Anyway, your house looks beautiful. Been following you all along your journey. You did awesome!
Isn’t it so wild what you uncover when you demo a house!? Ran into some crazy stuff with the garage… Can’t wait to share that with everyone once I figure out what’s going on. You’re a champ! Thank you for always being such a huge support!
You’ve done a lot and it’s come a long way. Congratulations to you and Chris and thanks for sharing your journey! Can’t wait to see what you put out next.
Your home is amazing! You have accomplished so much. Kudos and so glad your husband is recovering well. Can't wait to see future projects and more collaborations😍.
Congratulations on your one year anniversary in your home. You have accomplished sooo much. You are a rock star, so talented. God bless you guys and your marriage and your new home. Thank you for taking us along for the ride❤
By now I'm sure you've realized that "finished" is always a temporary situation. Your tastes change, you have a baby, an older parent needs help. What is the saying? Life is what happens while you're busy making plans. The house evolves, and your fans will be here to cheer you on.

You're house looks so amazing! 😍 Essentially considering where it was when you started. I absolutely love the deck, too. Congratulations to you two on your wedding! 🎉🎊💍🥂 I'm so happy for you and the many blessings God's given you. You are super talented! How cool to be at a point where you can work for yourself. How exciting! I've watched you for a long time. I normally leave comments, but I love seeing what you can create and accomplish. You are ambitious and a hard working. It's really great to see. I pray for many more blessings to come for you. Oh, hey... if you ever need any projects for content, I live in an old house from the 50s. We've already started doing some renovations, but we have lots more projects to go. We're in Tennessee. Is that a thing you do? Do you travel to do projects? Idk if you do, but if so, I'd love for you to come. It would be wonderful to have you work on our home as I know you do an amazing job. Anyway, I'm looking forward to all you're new projects to come and watching you grow!💖🌺
Sam. I have been in my home for 10 years. You have done more in 1 year then in my entire 10 years. That's sad. I'm disgusted with myself. Love your content.
Yooooo Sam!!! A few things, one I was your 1K likes 💯💯💯 I logged on & it was at 999 & Boom Shacka Lacka 1K!! Next, always awesome to see a longer format video. This recap will be awesome. Finally, since this is FT gig now I see a possible second Channel in your futitee to generate even more income. Either unedited B-roll/lost footage or you & PA Dukes footage. Hoping allmis well, SuperCat, Dirty Jersey out!!
Wow you have accomplished so much - sometimes it's good to take a moment to reflect because many of us (myself included) are always looking to what's next on the list! Gotta get those windows done tho - it ain't sexy and might not make great content but I see dollar signs floating out the windows from your AC and heat.
And you did it all without me there. I'm so proud 🥲 In all seriousness, the house looks amazing! Seeing it in person at the start and again a few months ago was like watching a massive before and after. Keep up the great work Sam! Shout out to the editor for making the video super fun to watch!

I met/ found you with Dani & table. I'm enjoying your progress. Thanks for giving yourself your all. 🥰
By now I'm sure you've realized that "finished" is always a temporary situation. Your tastes change, you have a baby, an older parent needs help. What is the saying? Life is what happens while you're busy making plans. The house evolves, and your fans will be here to cheer you on.
Love that!
Great job! Danie! Danie! Danie!
Hi Sam, from Luxembourg. Yes, owning your own home is the greatest feeling.

You’re a champ! Thanks for the love!
That is so much work and in the end you will have such awesome memories.

You really have done a lot. The recap was fun. Can't wait for the kitchen eps.
Thank you! So excited to start sharing kitchen content next week!
Do you have a video up for those lovely radiator covers?
I do! In my Shorts tab! 😊
Ughhh. I know… the windows are definitely not a sexy project. 🤣
You’re a boss. You’ve accomplished sooooooooo much. 😊
Thanks so much!!
Why did you put such dark floors upstairs when the originals downstairs aren't as dark? Just curious....
Congrats on the pretty bride day.
Great video!! You are terrific!!
Back at you!
Thanks!
And you did it all without me there. I'm so proud 🥲
In all seriousness, the house looks amazing! Seeing it in person at the start and again a few months ago was like watching a massive before and after. Keep up the great work Sam! Shout out to the editor for making the video super fun to watch!
Miss you, Bud! Would have gotten double done if you were here. 😉
Isabel crushed it! 🙌
