Hello, I subscribed about a month ago and have been binge watching your videos and taking notes. I feel like I am getting to know you, so here is a bit about me. My dad's first car was a 69 beetle with factory sunroof. He threw a rod and it sat on the side of the house from 1980-90. My brother got ahold of it, switched out the motor to stock 1500 and the jury rigged stuff to work. I got it in 1995, with no automotive experience at all and started learning. I restored it the best I could with new interior, maaco paint, kept it running. On a teenage budget and as a daily driver I did what I could, but there was a lot of corner cutting. Eventually I went to college, the bug got parked, sat another 16 years and now I have it back in my garage. Now in my 40's I have a little more time and money too restore it. Thanks for your videos. I sure could have used them as a teenager! Back then it was books and manuals and sometimes a bit of guesswork.
You made short order of it --good to know what lubrication not to use thanks for the info ..pull my 67 bus front end apart installed new link & King Pin this video reminded me that I need to order new saw bar bushing . Thanks for sharing Darrin good seeing you back to work on Vw's..
Hi Darrin, among the many videos you've done, did you happen to do one on the removal of those control arms/torsion arm for ball joint replacement ? (1970 Bus)

thank you for lookimg at the videos.
Awesome video...thanks for posting. You make short work of it with your jack hammer....I would have never thought to use one like that!
Damn, never thought about using an airchisel for taking off the sway clamps. Nice vid Darrin.
Great job Darrin. A video a day keeps the doctor away 😀. This bug will be better than ever when you are done with it.

Never thought of using the air chisel, nice tip!
Great idea to use the airtool! I will test it on my project too.
Nice. Do you have a video on rebuilding link pin beam with replacing bushings?
You made it look easy. Any reason silicone won't work with assembly? I'd never heard of using KY before. Thanks Darrin.

D - looks like ur using the good replacement bushings instead of the crappy urethane Chinese junk.nice👍
why did you waste that hose clamp , you could have used it on the fuel line ?
jimmy wilkinson - LOL. I get the reference.
I have used powdered graffight & baby powder.
Both work well
nice on so many levels
Nice work
That was quick.
That will improve things.
Never seen a sway bar with a hose clamp on it before.
