This video is the first source to showed me that a chassis tag is not on a plate but actually STAMPED onto the chassis. I immediately ran out to my garage, pulled the fenders out of my back seat and with the help of a little WD-40 I found the Vin to my beetle!!! Thank you so damn much man. You just saved my beetle from becoming a dune buggy!

I was afraid I would lose people on that one. I am a ME so that is where my head goes. 😅

if you would´ve bought the wrong front beam for your year of beetle and a disc brake conversion kit from empi with dropspindles. would that make so the car would be incredibly low even with the adjuster of the front beam on its highest possible setting?

Great video. After using the the drop spindles and disc brake conversion did you increase the total wheel width over stock or did you use a narrow beam? Thanks

It’s a narrow beam in the video. I kept the narrowed beam to keep the wheels tucked in the fenders. Thanks for commenting.

Our experience with narrow beams is not positive; it alters the steering geometry of the car; the tires can hit the pan/body and even front brake hoses, destroying them.
Great video with great explanation!! Thanks for sharing.

Hi I have a question I have a airkewld front suspension on my 1960 vw bettle and going down the drive way the other day one wheel was straight and the other was turned could you point me in the right direction on what could be broken? I'm am having a hell of a time trying to figure this out Thanks in advance

It could be a broken tie rod end, a trailing arm not fully secured onto the torsion bars or a link pin is not fully tighten. I would start with those and then do a front end alignment.

Hello, do you know where I can can 2d cad data for the vw's? Specifically a 1973 and maybe even a 62 model.

Could you give me a ballpark figure of your front end brake to brake, not including wheels? Thanks

Off the top of my head I am think $800. For just the link pin and disc brakes.
