'Carvana needs to be stopped:' Denver man says online car retailer sold him stolen, damaged vehicle

- A Denver man says Carvana, an online used car retailer, sold him a stolen car with serious damage that he only later discovered.
They delivered a car with non working headlights to me, then wanted me to spend hours and days getting it fixed. Sent it back in less than 24 hours. They are complete frauds. Stay away.
If you have one bad experience at a fast food restaurant, do you put down the entire franchise, too? Lmfao you're such a derp.
I bought a Toyota Corolla from Carvana that had a clean Carfax report, but had been in an accident, and repaired. They took it back, but that still didn't change the fact that it should have not passed inspection to begin with.
Beware of Carfax too. I watched a totalled car get repair and sold as minor damage for 3k off the sticker($47,000 after it was rebuilt) . The car got a new frame because one side was bent.
@@invalidusername_5101 carfax ain’t got nothing to do with it. Many people fix the issues themselves other than reporting it or calling insurance. Hence why they most the times won’t populate on carfax.
@@sergiorodriguez3588 dumbass you just disagreed with me then proved my point in your last sentence
A contract that doesn't allow a customer to sue for damages is discriminatory, which makes it an illegal contract.
Not if both parties agree.
@@matt89108 why are you on all the carvana videos🤔
It call mediation, some work places has it to. People got to step up their schooling. 😆🤣😂
Don't medical, Rental, and employment contracts says the same thing u cant sue.
@@trashbun2 Yes, but can also be excluded through negotiations if both parties agree.
And it's a Hertz rental car. What a surprise.
Oh my God, we’re living in a crazy time. You get scared to do anything! Buying a car, buying a house, taking your car to a mechanic…whatever you do you feel betrayal.
Not scared, just hyper aware people are trying to skin you at every turn.
why i do everything myself
And the grocery store..
Exactly. In the past decade I have found myself just not buying much at all because I always feel taken advantage of. I have money; I just don't spend it; the effort to do so is just too great. You go to a store and you're on your own, no help, no explanations; it's all do it yourself. The worst is hiring help. As I age I can no longer do things I used to do so I have to hire someone to do them. That's worse than buying stuff; it never works out and you have to pay whatever they say because they are the only one around who can do whatever it is needs doing. I feel helpless. By the time I die I will have quite an inheritance to pass on instead of making corporations rich by buying stuff. We should all boycott unnecessary spending to fight back.
Absolutely and that is why I had to learn to do it myself. Been much better ever since. But the difficulty is all those suckers that don't know the difference. They alone keep the shit afloat when it truly should sink
It’s almost like buying a car unseen from a vending machine is a bad idea. Who knew
Carvana DOES NOT inspect cars !! On my TEST DRIVE my Audi a6 with 43k miles flashed low oil pressure light came after 3 blocks then the tire pressure light came on in less than a mile.
Bruh 💀
They offered me $20k for my 2018 civic sight unseen. I would never purchase from them since they don’t even inspect cars prior to selling them or even purchasing
When they said Hertz I knew it was a screw job
I don’t understand how this isn’t a criminal case. Carvanna sold a stolen car. That’s illegal. It’s a felony.
I purchased a 2016 Nissan Frontier from Carvana. A seemingly minor warranty repair estimate revealed prior, poor frame welds, a replacement hood, bumper, radiator, and core support. I returned the vehicle and reported the damage with photos. I contacted Carvana numerous times. Each time there were responses of "I'm sorry, we will look into it, we will open a case", but at the end of the day it was resold as "reported accident-free".
Hertz and Carvana?? Two very large companies clearly not hitting homeruns with operations and customer service recently.
They will keep doing shady shit like that until someone goes to prison (yeah right). If a normal person sold a totaled stolen car, youd go to jail. If a corporation does it, they get a slap on the hand at best. Corporations will always maximize profits at all costs and they need to be regulated and taxed.
Exactly
. They already are regulated and taxed.
In the last 200 years no corporation has ever "payed" a single penny in taxes. The customer aways pays it.
why would you buy a car unseen from a vending machine
😂😂😂
They need to be SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY 😡
My cousin just had a Jeep Cherokee delivered to her with the engine knocking in Walnut, MS. Making all kinds of crazy noises. No resolution for it yet. They also provided a TN drive out tag, which from my understanding may be a felony since it was delivered to MS.
I take it your cousin either bought an as-is, or waited too long for the exchange.
@@matt89108 she didn’t trade anything and paid cash so made it a little more complicated. She stopped payment on the check at the bank and they came back and picked up the Jeep a couple of days later. It was a big ordeal, but she is happy she wasn’t stuck with a ticking engine.
@@snpankey This wasn't Carvana.
@@matt89108 yes it was. I was there when they delivered it on a Carvana truck.
@@snpankey The lifters weren't making noise when they delivered the SUV?
STICK. WITH. ESTABLISHED. DEALERS. PERIOD.
They are even worst scumbags.
So if they sold him a stolen car why is it the company hasn’t been closed for investigation instead they are more concerned about the damages on the car. Media what your problem?
Because Carvana bribes their way out of trouble.
Carvana has been doing this for years.
A lot of the time you don’t know it’s still until it’s already sold and you got a transfer the title and then have issues
That’s why I would never ever buy a car from them all you need to do is go to the dealership and pick out a car and not mess with any of these online entities. There’s always going to be a huge cost for a little bit of convenience/ savings. Sometimes the old-school way is the best way. Carvana doesn’t care and clearly they don’t care about screwing over their customers. Don’t do business with them if you value your money in your families safety!
Absolutely correct sir. its your money.
i wouldn't buy a car w/o driving it ever. Bad practice.
yeah nah fuck buying from a dealership, you get scammed even harder. imagine buying a brand new car that is now worth $10,000 less than it did as soon as it leaves the dealership parking lot.
carvana's contract doesn't allow customers to sue for damages??? thats a big 🚩
Do some research on contract law concerning disputes to be settled through mediation / arbitration. If you don't like the terms, no one is forcing you to sign.
We bought a car from them June 2021 and we are still waiting for registration plates. The keep sending us plates from different states.
Sketchy a.f.
Time to close them down with a class action law suit
Buying a car online. What could go wrong?
Yessir 😂
Even with bad credit and no money down, they still sold me a car that’s how corrupt this company is
I sold my camaro to carvana. I took great care of my car. I never drove it from November to May. I washed and waxed it. I drove it to the park 1/2 mile away on Sundays. It still had protective plastic on the seats from the manufacturer. It had 8000 miles. I owned it 8 years. They said well be there to pick it up . They paid me 800. Less than I paid in 2015. I was sooo happy. Great experience for me. And whoever gets a bumblebee camaro in great shape with no miles , that's my car!! You got the deal of a lifetime! !
They dont allow you to sue. DANGER WILL ROBINSON!! DANGER!!
good job robot
"That does not compute" for some.
I got a car from carvana to a couple years ago in 2019 and I noticed it had a lot of dusting sand and the engine and on the inside of the door and back of the trunk. I thought I just could clean it up myself but the stuff will not go away and I wondered how they stored the vehicle. It was a cranberry colored 2014 Buick LaCrosse. Within the first week of me having it I had to take it in to get the brakes looked at because of throttling when I drove it. When I took it to get the brakes inspected the auto mechanic called carvana himself and said "do you guys do any type of inspections on these vehicles because the brakes have issues". Carvana did ended up paying for the brakes because I stayed in contact with them. I kept the car for a few years and now it's gone.
Car might have been in a flood. Sand shouldn't really be in those places unless if the vehicle has been in water
LOL, dust from like an auto body collision shop?
There is no such thing in ANY state as signing away your right to Sue!!!
did you not see the video?
I don't understand why the DA has not gone after them or the BBB. They need to be shut down. Why the news has not aired this on every channel to alert the people. I have to learn it on YT.
The DA & BBB get greased under the table, they are paid big money to look the other way 👀
There are still good used car dealers. There are still good auto auctions too. With a smart phone and a laptop, research is much easier, why take a chance on something this important?
"Stop selling junk cars" 🤣🤣
Serves you right buying a car without being able to look at it 😂😂
You do understand how the buying process works? What you wrote seems to me that you have no clue.
@@matt89108 Not only is she clueless but mad she has bad credit and can't order a car online like a responsible person. 😂😂😂😂😂
Only bo zos will buy from a company that make millions selling used card from vending machine.
@@aztekempire Me and millions of others have happily and flawlessly brought their car from Carvana. But did we make the news? No. I'm enjoying my 2016 Lexus LS 460. Can you say the same bozo the clown?
You would not believe me if I told you that 1 of the ads before the video started was a CarVana ad.
I have a basic set of rules I always follow. Rule number 3.8.5 states, "If possible, NEVER trade or engage with any company that's ALWAYS in the news". Nothing good will ever come of it. I've followed that advice my entire life and I've rarely had any major problems with any company.
What do you expect from something thought up by kids who feel they don't have to go by the adult rules and responsibilities.
From my heart to your fingers 🙌
It's ironic I had to watch a Carvanna commercial before watching this video.
I got one after the video.
A stupid concept all the way. Too lazy, or self-important, to purchase a car 'old school' way.
That's why lazy people use it lol. I knew they where such a scam lol
literally got fired for bringing too much attention to a customer's issue where a customer was told when her contract was getting rebuild after title issues and it took 5+ months of dealing with her contract being rebuilt, several reps told her she will have the delayed months of rebuild( mind you she couldn't make payments while system showed no purchase or contract) she was told we will cover those payments. Until bridgecrest( the financing ) started threatening to tow due to lack of payments. very VERY long story short and many arguments with management later I was finally successful at getting carvana yo honor their word to her. No where in training do they tell u to warn customer's to continue to make payments or put those payments in savings because they will be charged one lump sum. This woman had just lost her daughter, husband went blind and dealing with bs reps who didn't care and she was ready to sue... until she got me. We were told to treat customer's as if they are our mother...( the unspoken fine print to this "company principal" unless it doesn't benefit carvana. Principles only apply when it makes carvana $$) after the light and questioning the system I was then plotted against and 30 days later fired after I was sent home due to child needing covod test. They then refused unemployment claiming I knew I broke the rules. The owner has earned himself the title of WORLDS BEST SCAMMER.
Plus THEY DO NOT EVER INSPECT THE VEHICLES DESPITE WHAT THEY CLAIM. 95% OF THEIR VEHICLES ARE LEMONS!!!!
A lawsuit should be file against Carvama!
I like how I clicked on this video. And what plays first. A Carvana ad
Crooked needs to be locked up and pay that man all his money back
I bought a car from Carvana. No complaints, clean title thoroughly checked. Delivery was fast, easy, and what I expected. The delivery guy noticed a minor scratch on the door before it was put on his trailer and he placed/scheduled an appointment for me that was completely covered by them. They called a week later to follow up. Still have it no complaints or issues. Idk maybe it’s the areas some of these Carvanas are in? I had a good experience and was skeptical myself.
You must not have gotten it inspected on your own ahead of time and are still in store to discover the accident damage they never told you about.
Amazing there is a Carvana ad with this video. LOL.
Who on earth would buy a vehicle from these known scammers?
Anyone who buys a used car without a mechanical inspection from a known and trusted mechanic - that wasn't paid by the seller - needs his or her head examined.
I'm a mechanic who has had to fix some of these cars after customers bought them, and I can confirm, many of the carvana cars are junk. Everything from 40k mile rust buckets to poorly painted wheels with overspray on the brembo calipers to leaky axles at 30k miles on a fusion. Think twice, and don't waste you money on carvana.
I'm glad my car got delayed and i cancelled the order and went to CarMax 😜😜😭🤣
This is the reason I don't buy used autos.
Even with an inspection you just don't know what you're getting.
You got my vote if it’s in the budget but a new one & get a factory warranty
This is why americans waste so much money on cars. I bought ` new car and the rest were used. Let someone else take the depreciation. I work on my own car so i can spot a crappy one.
Thought this was about selling stolen cars? Was more focused on hidden damage.
I see so many of these videos on UA-cam, horror stories about carvana
But the people said they would rather buy online than deal with a professional salesperson. There you go keep on keeping on pipe dreams folks. Stay local buy local don't be a sucka!
Tha fact that there are people out there still buying from Carvana, just tells me how stupid society really is in making life decisions
If someone stole that car In Memphis it was more than likely issued in a homicide
That’s what it’s important for people to do their jobs right. It hurts people in the long run .
Yup.
They also hire just out of high school kids. One I worked with did inspections on cars and he had no prior automotive experience
@@slidewayzproductions9546 yea these kids these days don’t know hard work and value of money. It’s all about phones. We’ll my thing is you have phone at school look up the answer Lmao look up how to fix a car lmao
They don’t even inspect the cars before buying, that’s why I would never use them
Not allowed to sue crooked companies 😂😂😂
I just got a carvana ad at the beginning of this video
Carvana’s Novi, MI dealership is temporarily shut down because they kept selling cars without proper titles and title paperwork. Then they got pissed and said the state is hurting their business because they are doing everything correctly. The state said “we have proof you don’t. Want to provide the proof that you do?” To which Carvana replied by doing nothing.
Who didn't think this Sales Pitch was too good to be true. Buying A Car in this
Manner opens the Door to many areas of possible Fraud.
Sure they have a 150 point inspection. They never said they’d actually fix anything they found in the inspection!
Bought. a car from Carvana , Currently starting a lawsuit over Slander of Title and Illegal Loan Paperwork. Also the car has serious engine problems only 2 months after purchasing it. Their "inspection" never happens on any vehicle they sell, even though they advertise that the inspection happens to every vehicle they sell.
Should be pretty simple case for an attorney, They come with a warranty of title, they can't sell you a vehicle they don't have good title for.
I’ve purchased 3-4 cars from Carvana and they always took care of any problems I had with cars that I bought, including undisclosed damage to BMW I recently bought. They paid for repair with no questions asked. Today I bought a car from local dealer and the tricks and deceptive practices the dealer played to try to rip me off were constant and egregious. It’s not Carvana, it’s the auto sales industry as a whole.
Nice try Carvana PR.
@@mm345-0 lol ..
I don't believe you, but you could be one of the few lucky ones..
@@jasonallen3678 thanks for taking time out of your day to call me a liar. It’s true and 100% factual. And I don’t work for Carvana. And maybe I’m one of lucky ones.
Jesus, what is happening? As soon as we finish with rump, guess who we're going after next!
Anyone else have a Carvana Ad play during the video? 🤣
This Company just gets Worse rotten to the Core !!!
BBB complaints mean nothing, especially if a company pays them.
Its called a test drive.
Carvana, home of car crooks.
Same people that own Drive Time.
Watch out for flooded vehicles from Florida…
First mistake, buying from Carvana. Second mistake, buying exact same GM model
this company is a mess 😂😂
He got the same car and now he has a parts car. I like his style and professionalism.
win win
yall missing the fact he had to pay for both cars!
Carvana has ruined the used vehicle market .
Who buys a car from a vending machine? Crazy!!! Maybe I'm an old geezer boomer but I need to smell the car, kick the tires of the car,
listen to the radio of the car, pop the hood (as if I know what I'm looking at), pop the trunk of the car, and the list goes on and on and
on. What has our society become? I'll tell you what it has become- LAZY!!!!!!!!!!
They bought my sister in laws Elantra that never had an oil change. I wonder where it is now.
Why do people trust the sellers inspection?
Get your own even if you can’t do it before purchase
Bought a Carvana car and it was leaking power steering fluid all over. They scraped it and damaged it when unloading the car off the truck. Then they had to make good on their warranty they give with every car when the steering rack went out and cost 2500 dollars.
D'Oh!
Ironically the intro ad was Carvana saying what a great buying experience your gonna' have.
Middle America wants an easy car buying experience! LOL!!!
I wonder if a crime was committed could that void the agreement and create cause for a lawsuit…
These are the same kind of cars AutoNation sells.
That’s against the law! Carvana needs to be stopped
carvana needs a go out of business
I'm appalled. What's new?
E-commerce works great for most things, but cars... not so much. Especially USED cars. You need to look at it yourself, drive it, smell it, etc. Who knows what it has been through and pics don't tell the whole story. This company is part of the overall used car price situation as they were throwing out crazy offers to people driving prices up for months. They need to disappear.
Well said!
They give you 7 days to return the car no questions asked. This is your time to get the car inspected. That being said, no one should be able to sell a car in the manner described in the video.
Arbitration rules dont apply if the law was broken during the sale.
have you done your research on hertz? the car probably wasn't even stolen. hertz has been falsely reporting stolen cars because of a clerical error for decades.
All that and he bought a GMC terrain, god I hope for his sake they fixed the issues by that model year.
Lol caravana ad before this video
Its a new twist on the standard swindler. It's a crooked used car lot but all dressed up.
Why am I hearing all this walmart talk when I am retiring
this video is about carvana
Doesn't Carvana offer a 100% money-back guarantee. So return the car??
"Don't buy a new car, buy a used rental car instead"
This is why you buy from dealers
Damn Carvana
After all the problems and national headlines on this, who in their right mind would buy anything from this crimminal organization?
So sad 😢 what That kills me😢 Go to jail
Bought two cars from them...0 problems. Ill continue to buy from them.
The company is well connected $$$$$
They sold me a car with three different color paint but of course it had never been reported
