experience a mother’s love. Sr. Miriam shares a beautiful quote from The Reed of God by Caryll Houselander:
“Mary is not wearied with our littleness; her smile comes down to us like a benediction through the sea of flickering candles, she blesses our wild flowers withering at her feet. For each one of us is ‘another Christ’ each one, to Mary, is her only child. It is, therefore, not tedious to her to hear the trifles that we tell her, to look at the bruises we bring to her, and seeing our wound of sin to heal it.”

The highest form of honor, adoration (Latin “latria”) is given to God alone. The Catholic Church has always, and will always teach this. For example, the Catholic Church refuted the Collyridians in the fourth century because they did adore Mary.
If someone professes to give this highest honor to Mary, they sadly cannot become a Catholic until they repent of this most serious error. If a Catholic falls into this most serious error, despite the Catholic Church’s strict prohibition against it, he must fully repent before he can enter into heaven.
There are lesser forms of honor that God requires us to give to others. He commands us to honor our parents in Matthew 19:19. The Catholic Church uses the Latin term “dulia” to distinguish this lesser form of honor from the highest honor which is given to God alone, “latria,” or adoration.
Mary has a special role among the Saints so the special honor given to her is called “hyperdulia” (hyper + dulia = more of the same.) The honor given to Mary is greater in degree, but it still is of the same kind as that given to the other saints. Because Mary is a finite creature who was saved by Jesus Christ the type of honor given to her is fundamentally different than the type of honor, “latria,” that is owed to the infinite Creator.
When interpreting the various titles and prayers to Mary they must always be interpreted within the context of the more fundamental teachings of the Catholic Church about Jesus Christ.

Every single trait that was applied to Mary are all characteristics of God such as, healing our sin, kindness, attentive to us, is a refuge, corrects in truth and love, not self seeking, drawing us to Christ. Praying to a statue is idolatry. Recently Pope Francis prayed to an painting of Mary and crowned her with a golden crown, it seems to me that the majority of Roman catholics have already given the highest of honor to Mary and the Saints rather than to God who is worthy to be praised.

"He is the all," but at the same time "he is greater than all his works."67 He is "the author of beauty."
2130 Nevertheless, already in the Old Testament, God ordained or permitted the making of images that pointed symbolically toward salvation by the incarnate Word: SO IT WAS WITH "THE BRONZE SERPENT, THE ARK OF THE COVENANT, AND THE CHERUBIM."
2131 Basing itself on the mystery of the incarnate Word, the seventh ecumenical council at Nicaea (787) justified against the iconoclasts the veneration of icons - of Christ, but also of the Mother of God, the angels, and all the saints. By becoming incarnate, the Son of God introduced a new "economy" of images.
2132 The Christian veneration of images is not contrary to the first commandment which proscribes idols. Indeed, "the honor rendered to an image passes to its prototype," and "whoever venerates an image venerates the person portrayed in it."70 The honor paid to sacred images is a "respectful veneration," not the adoration due to God alone:
Religious worship is not directed to images in themselves, considered as mere things, but under their distinctive aspect as images leading us on to God incarnate. the movement toward the image does not terminate in it as image, but tends toward that whose image it is.
Cherubim On The Mercy Seat
The Bible describes two golden figures of the cherubim with their wings stretched over the Mercy Seat on the Ark of the Covenant.
You shall make two cherubim of gold; you shall make them of hammered work, at the two ends of the mercy seat. Make one cherub at the one end, and one cherub at the other; of one piece with the mercy seat you shall make the cherubim at its two ends. The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings. They shall face one to another; the faces of the cherubim shall be turned toward the mercy seat. You shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark; and in the ark you shall put the covenant that I shall give you (Exodus 25:18-21).
Bronze Serpent:
Numbers 21:8-9
8.The Lord said to Moses, " make a bronze serpent and put it in a flag pole and whoever is bitten and look at it ,will live.9.So, Moses made a bronze serpent and put it in a flag pole.

Sister Miriam, your voice is soothing and tender like a loving mother’s voice. Thank you for invoking the memories of my dear mother. I was 14 years old when she succumbed to cancer. I am now 67 years old and how I still miss my mother. So many things she could have taught me but blessed to have had a nurturing mother who also taught me to love our Blessed Mother. Lord, please hug my mother for me. ❤

I have not been able to see my mother for almost 15 years. She is 80 years old in a turbulent country. I have given her to our Holy Mother, don’t know what I would do without Mary in my life. Thank you God for giving me your family.

I am so sorry you are unable to see your Mom. May God send His comfort into both your heart and your Mom’s heart. I am sure your Mom senses your longing to be with her. One day you will be together!

Sr. Miriam, thank you. My mother was never happy with me, she always wished I was different or more like someone else or she was angry and critical. I somehow translated that into my relationship with our Mother Mary. I could never pray to Her because I thought She was angry at me too. It's only through listening to you and your struggle and your words that I can now pray to Mary and try to think she loves me as I am. Also I pray to St Jospeph for His protection and guidance every single day and I sometimes think I found your videos with His help. The first one I ever saw was the video you made with the statue "A Quiet Moment". Thank you Sr. Miriam for helping us so much.
You just came up in my UA-cam feed today. This is EXCELLENT. I'm one of those whose Mother tried but the circumstances of her life were too hard for her to be the mother she wanted to be. It's something we carry with us all our lives. As a child, I was very devoted to Mary but this faded over time. Your talk is an excellent lesson.

What a beautiful presentation of what it is to be a woman and mother! Life giving, nurturing, loving and embracing the gifts which make her who she is. Your countenance is one of beauty Sr. Miriam, which radiates the warmth and beauty of God. Thank you for revealing yourself to us with the message you bring this Advent. Mary is the one who said 'Yes' to Gabriel's request, and so mothered the Salvation of the world. She is making her appearance to many in these days urging us all to take heed, seek Jesus and to wholeheartedly repent.

What a beautiful sermon. My mom was fiercely....not protective necessarily.....but if there was wrongdoing she would fight for us. And she nurtured us. And supported us. I couldn't ask for a better mother and I miss her dearly.

..watched this after watching the movie (adapted from a book) "The Noelle Diaries".. beautifully done...made extra special in that one of our lady friends (adopted very young..adopted a baby also with her husband) ..happens to be getting the experience of a lifetime this Advent...we're all cheering on her good fortune!

Oh sister! I get you. I’m a cradle Catholic. And my amazing mom had a great devotion to the Blessed Mother. But I didn’t have the feels she did. Our parish priest told me after my confession to start a relationship with the Blessed Mother. I wasn’t sure how to do that, other than spending time with her. I started with 3 Hail Marys/dAy and read the Glories of Mary. By the grace of the Holy Spirit, I began to understand. It took time-but now I have all the FEELS! I’ve been praying a daily rosary for several years now, and it has made such a difference. She helps me love and serve Jesus more faithfully. Praying for all who watch this video.

There are lesser forms of honor that God requires us to give to others. He commands us to honor our parents in Matthew 19:19. The Catholic Church uses the Latin term “dulia” to distinguish this lesser form of honor from the highest honor which is given to God alone, “latria,” or adoration.
Mary has a special role among the Saints so the special honor given to her is called “hyperdulia” (hyper + dulia = more of the same.) The honor given to Mary is greater in degree, but it still is of the same kind as that given to the other saints. Because Mary is a finite creature who was saved by Jesus Christ the type of honor given to her is fundamentally different than the type of honor, “latria,” that is owed to the infinite Creator.
When interpreting the various titles and prayers to Mary they must always be interpreted within the context of the more fundamental teachings of the Catholic Church about Jesus Christ.

@@jacobking3211 Salvation isn't obtained by simply saying the prayer you outlined. A person needs to sincerely believe in Jesus Christ AND BE BAPTIZED in order to be saved (Mark 16:16)
