Vanagon Door Repairs

Part 2 in the series. Opening the door killed me a little bit inside every time since it was just in dire need of some repairs. Here we remove the door, sandblast, and paint the rail.

I’ve just watched one of your videos for the first time. You have a very good channel and I’ll be paying attention from now on. I generally hate VW’s and Audi’s, especially working on them; but I do own a number of them and have an engine swap to do for the wife’s mk 1 convertible and probably a restoration to do on our ‘87 syncro vanagon, it has some rust issues. So I’ll be working through much of the same malarkey you seem to have scheduled for yourself. Good luck and you’re not alone in hating sandblasting, oh and by the way there are people who do that so you don’t have too.

Why not just buy the correct paint color from a paint store? They could’ve easily put it into a spray can

If you can find paint code L567 for sale at a reasonable price, I’m all ears.
Additionally one can’t see the area except the foot step. I also want to repaint the van at some point. Finally, the van is so faded, the proper paint code would not match.
