Johnny Fay of The Tragically Hip does a mid game interview with Ron McLean on Hockey Night in Canada. Seems weird to see McLean behind the glass like that but he used to do a lot of these types of interviews.
Fay seems pretty nervous and they talk about Don Cherry and whether he is a fan of their music. Fay thinks that he is not but the end of the clip is Cherry schooling McLean on Coach's Corner.
I have really come to appreciate what a solid drummer and key member Johnny is. I LOVE this band!!!!
I've got courage and you're scared. Legends.
Love the Hip you people....
Quiet eh, the Hip are the best and everything like that!
Free show in Winnipeg on Canada day 80,000 people and The Hip. I miss you Gord. I miss the band
I miss Coaches Corner!
Ron, the pursuer of fancy pants. A man willing to go thru any means, including throwing his friend under the bus.
I never noticed that Johnny has cheekbones. When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought it might be Eddie Vedder.
GODSPEED GORDIE!! THERE WAS NO ONE LIKE YOU!! YOUR MUSIC WILL BE WITH US FOREVER!!
hilda burns aint that the truth!!!
Rare interview ! Johnny doesn’t do interviews
correct!
Canada luvs 'em buys eh!
Montreal was their tour highlight baby👍😃
I was at that show, their first concert at Centre Bell. Great crowd but it wasn't sold out contrary to most dates.
Awesome
The best of both rip Gord
LOVE it!!!!!!
Wonder if they still make those toques?
Hey Don i was a youngster when you coached the B's. it would be awesome to see you back in beantown. love and respect
Love it, no political correctness
It's
Molson hockey night in Canada
Don Cherry doing what Don Cherry does best...talking over everybody.
The canada we know
Man, I miss Don.
He was on his way out regardless. The network just wanted a reason to kick him out earlier to make themselves look good to new demographics and attempt to stay relevant. Now Don is free of their control, out of the spotlight, and laughing at their impending end.
Do you happen to have the HNIC intro from that game including the sponsor tags?
what year is this???
1997
1996 actually - the Hip played the Gardens in December 1996 (I was there) and Gilmour and Muller (who Johnny references) were still with the Leafs then.
Its from a long long time ago, when Ron Mclean had a full head of hair still lol
September?
yes... the HIP played back to back shows at Maple Leaf Gardens in '96
Almost lived in Kingston, glad i didn't but it is a very nice city. Wasn't a fan of the prison.

Yeah I have a friend been head guard there for 15 years or so but it's particularly cold there in the winter. I've no love of Ontario weather much anymore.
Did you see Julian, Ricky, and Bubbles there?
When was this from?
1996
I miss Don.
Lol
Ron Mclooser is a traitor, a true low life yesman. Sorry for the negativity... he made sure cbc is no longer relevant. MUCH HEALTH EVRY1
And he'll be the next one to get booted off the network. Plenty of equality seekers out there full of empty pointless verbal packing peanuts to scatter when the viewership just wants to watch the athletes instead.
@@BuriedFlame Well Said, practically an historical comment! no joke! your rock BuriedFlame!
Not a big fan of Ron Mclean.
Ron is the worst
