You shouldn't call drum brakes to disc brakes an upgrade. They are different brakes and can be more powerful. But drum brakes have other advantages. Or people will think drum brakes are not as good.
@@DemiGod.. Maybe. But same for discs as they can warp. I never had a problem with my 60 kilo solar trike. Anyone who has drum brakes does not want to trade them for discs. It's not an upgrade but rather a downgrade.
Just starting out my recumbent trike search--in terms of TerraTrike, ICE, and Catrike--are the all pretty comparable in terms of build quality and features includes? Is there one brand that stands out among others? Right now im between the TerraTrike EVO, ICE Adventure H.D. and the E-Cat Dumont.
Hello UT! Whats your opinnion on brake setups for heavy riders and loaded trikes? I just instaled some 180mm discs all around a Sprint 26 and im stil not satisfied with stopping power.
@@driewiel TRP spyke calipers all round, but im using bafang levers and i do not think the cable pul matches. RN i cant even lock the brakes if i go over 20kmh on snow.
@@trulsvian Well eh snow is slippery you know! But serious, my guess is the cables could be better. 9 times out of 10 they are the problem. Have a professional check your trike. The Bafang levers should do the job for discs also. Most bikes have the these days. And I believe they have hydraulic levers too? Not sure. The discs and pads too cold? I'm not a disc brake expert. I have only one mtb with discs. My ICE QNT had 70mm drums, which are more than adequate fro my 100 kilo. Velomobiles have 90mm Sturmey Archer drums and they go fast downhill! For my homebuilt trike I used Tektro caliper brakes and even they stop me and my 50 kilo solar trike and all luggage in time, with a bit of care.... So something must be wrong with your disc brake set. Give them a good clean. And order the best cables like Jaggwire. Or unfortunately you have to bring it to a bike repair laboratory to have the surgeon look at it.
@@trulsvian Hydraulic brakes are a pain to work with. But the main advantage is you can have some really weird cable routing without creating extra friction. And world travelers often have hydraulic brakes so once they are installed they are pretty tough. But check your brakes fist before spending a fortune on hydraulic. Honestly, a decent set of discs should stop you on a dime. In fact I often find them too powerful. I'm too old for somersaults.
@@driewiel I had hydraulics on it before and changed to wire to get both front brakes on one handle and rear on another handle. Its running JagWire compressionless housing atm. I need a little bit of help I'm looking for a trike that has a motor on it that how also has a throttle I have the ice Sprint with the TS motor and throttle I like it but I want to get another truck looking at the adventure or the Thai fly but they only have the show Mano motors and no throttle can you advise me on this thank you
PLEASE sort out your moving camera approach. Get a stabiliser and use MAINLY fixed camera tripod shots; with cut aways to stable close ups of features. YES - that will need more editing work - but it will not make the viewer feel sick watching it! Im serious. I have seen some decent shooting from your channel. But your approach to sequencing and how you explain things needs a total rethink. I was in video production for training marketing and conferences for two decades. You NEED to fix these things.
Every time I see a different trike I want it.they are all so cool.. I love how you guys put these together, their are so many options
Thank you. It was in time for guests.
The SprintX is simply superb!! I’ve done 5500 miles/smiles. Folds nicely for road trips in the subie. Love your videos.
Thanks Mark!
We love our two ICE Adventure HD 26 RS trikes!!!!!!
That seat cushion to die for from Ice. I slapped onto my azub Ti-Fly 26 I love it and it fits nicely.
Agreed! ICE has the best seat cushion!
What!? That ICE seat will fit precisely onto an AZUB Ti-Fly X frame? No modifications needed?
@@UtahTrikesOnline will an ice seat cushion fit onto a catrike dumont?
You peeps do great work on the bikes(er .... trikes😄) , well done !
Bikes, trikes, quads, it's all the same to us! We've got people wanting us to make six-wheeled machines now!
Love my ice. It is so much fun.
Can't wait for the pinion mgu...

If you going touring, heavily loaded , your drumbrakes more prone to overheating

*super good buy!!!*
It's nice trike I wonder 🤔 if it can be make with the front wheel close to the feet specifically I don't like to have my feet hanging.
Do you hang video with them with electric motors hub & mid drive

Those disc brakes should stop anything. It's probably a matter of cables or adjustment or maybe the quality of your brake set.

It will cost you an arm and a leg but yes you can.I got the Slumph drive in front and the Rholoff at the back....that work fatstic.

If you ever hope to sell bicycle helmets then you need to wear them in the video. Everyone in Colorado Springs, CO wears them (except for kids).
