Riding the Full Fat Trike is great, I am an owner of a FFT, so I can tell. Besides going off road, the FFT works very well in urban areas. At 3:06 you can see the FFT climbs on the curb without issues. I rode a 800 km/ 500 mile vacation trip through rolling hills in summer 2019. I also tow a trailer behind it (Burly Nomad). So VERSITILE is the key word of the FFT. The speed is only a fraction lower then riding a normal tire trike, but I am not a fast rider with 44 lbs/ 20 kg overweigh.
@@RosaHernandez-ql8nu The range is around 40 km/ 25 miles. Sure, I can get more miles/ km out of a battery by dropping under 60 %, but that reduces the battery life span. My tires are inflated at 1,3 bar/ 19 psi. And in the winter the range is reduced by the cold, of course. The colde reduces the battery capacity. So around 16 km/ 10 miles.

Spent 45 min on the phone disguessing my build. Still a little confused, Can I get the Full Fat with 26" tires that have fenders??. I also want colored inserts in the wheels but was told I couldn't get them on the 26" wheels?. Is this correct. Looks like many of them have the colored inserts. How does the V3 compare to this model?. Does this one have the full suspension?. Thank you. Just trying to get the perfect setup before I order.
Fat Tires have high rolling resistance. Rolling downhill is the best thing that they do. "Wish it had motors" at 10:54 is a good clue. Switching out tires for the Alta Bicycle Fat Tire Duro 26" x 3.00" Slick Tread Bike Tires for Beach Cruisers would be a good idea. They inflate to 36 psi and roll much easier. You can mount 3 inch tires on 4 inch rims. It will change the ride experience.

Very sympathic natural guys, like that 👍 What I don't understand about this concept is why make it big but completely useless except of transporting one person, why the pedals need to stick out so far, make the whole construction long and wide without using the size properly? Moving the frontwheels out would give space for a front trunk, making the backwheel smaller would give space for a back trunk or both space for a second seat, also it doesn't need to be that wide and the short distance between the axles makes it jumpy and instable. But basically I like it, just googled some infos about tires and things because I'm planning a trike but other way around to have a trunk in the back, that's why I got this recommended, you guys showed lot's of details that I can learn from, just for curiosity it would have been nice if you told which switchgear is used on this.
Do you have or would it be possible to make a fully electric foldable trike bike for someone who is in a wheelchair but would like to ride on trails and have more freedom?
I’ve completed one with a greenspeed gt1 which is not off-road but that was the only frame I was able to purchase at that time. Hit me up if you need to chat...

I would have liked to hear the typical street price. I would have also enjoyed more commentary on ride and handling. Good job on showing features and construction.
The Shimano ESTEPS only functions as a pedal assist, so you have to be pedaling in order for it to work. Other systems like the Bafang Motors or our UTCustom Hub motor have a throttle that you can engage and the motor will do all the work for you.
If you want a rigid frame, you should buy the Fat Trike from Azub. Slightly cheaper. But the locking mechanism works very well. I own a Full Fat Trike for 3 years now, never had any problem with the beast. Or use loctite glue.
The Full Fat with the ESTEPS system is about $8000. You can carry a second battery with you but it won't be tied in electronically as Shimano doesn't has provisions for that. Attaching a battery mount on the other side will affect folding if that matters. Range with this trike will be 15-40 miles depending on the assist level chosen, rider weight, terrain and style of riding, and temperature.
