- We went on an adventure to the buoy to catch some Aku, Shibi, Yellow Fin Tuna, and cook some up for family and the kupuna. I'll show you the secret lures we use on slow days, to get a bite.

When I was living in Hawaii my favorite thing to do was to give fish that I had caught to the locals I met while going to or from the area I was fishing or diving that day. I was always amazed how my small act of kindness was rewarded over and over again with invitations to their camp site, homes or place of business, for a home cooked meal or local knowledge of the best spots to fish or dive. I think some times they were surprised that a haole loved to fish and dive as much as they did. I will always treasure my time on the Islands.

Yup case of the dragistist ... LOL , I know I got it set but screaming so much , you think it’s loose... tighten then fml LOL🤣
But at least I landed some of the other big ones, but that one that swallowed my fly, felt like 30-40 lber... if I hooked it in the mouth I would have had chance but it swallowed it and cut line.... cause I actually fought it for kinda a long time but for editing sake had to cut out the other 20 min of stale mate straight down...

On a real real flat no wind day... you and your Dad can probably catch one by the yellow weather buoys outside the MCBH with your motorized kayak

You got it down, Joe. Smart move deploying your custom made small flies and yozuri's. Sometimes I run bigger lures too long and end up with zero in the cooler. My friend Guy at MI Marine reminded me to run small lures and lighter line. At least that way you can get something to kaukau. You've proven him right, well done.
Yup, I not doing it to sell fish, just wanted to make sure I brought something home for dinner and to share with my neighbors

I know he carries two gas tanks but we only use one and the other is the back up. But got to check to see how big they are. I can try check and let you know
So stopped by his house today and they were 12 gallon tanks ... we maybe use 3/4 of one tank

I have 30 lb braid mainline then barrel swivel then 30 lb fluorocarbon leader to the lure

I think it’s ok. But I think when they first came out with the V-Tech... it was super good but with today technology , I would go with something newer
