Looks AMAZING braddah Joe!!! Hey quick question if you don't mind me asking here? So I notice you and your family eat a LOT of fish, including some that many suggest not eating because of the risk of Ciguatera, like the Lai, Roy, Kole, but could be any kine fish that has it. Is that a concern for you because I don't hear too much about that anymore and it doesn't seem to concern you much??? LMK if you would please, I appreciate it brother... So it’s still eat at your own risk kind of a topic . However , you can get it from Any Reef fish… so it not just papio Lai and Roi… however they say that they have higher chance cause they eat more reef fish so a higher concentration of cigatoxin. But for me if that’s is true and the toxin can’t be removed then all near shore fish wouldn’t be able to eat. So I believe that location is more important than type of fish. So some places are hot spots for ciguatera poisoning… so those places I would avoid. Like princeville on Kauai . So for me I take my chances, but if I’m in doubt then maybe just don’t eat the belly or heads of the fish, as higher levels of the toxin can be found in the fatter parts of the fish. So if I eat a Roi, I only take the top fillet.
