    First off. I'd like to say please, no spoilers of Any kind! Dan doesnt always watch much further ahead so he may not even know what's in the next episode.
    If a spoiler is spotted, no matter how small. It will be deleted by one of us Mods.
    On another note thank you all so much for supporting Dan on his first TWD journey! 😊
    I know he appreciates all the support and all of you!
    He also likes to interact in the comments so another big reason for No spoilers 😊.
    Thank you all so much!

      I am not surprised with Daryl's swiftness whatsover... he was probably doing everything he could to protect her... but it just wasn't enough... It makes it so much more painful as well that Daryl couldn't catch Beth when she was initially kidnapped... Imagine the thoughts going through the poor guys mind... 😭

      @DanReadd That's what makes it even more heartbreaking 😭 You can tell how much he had grown to care for her. She brought him out of a very, very dark head space. She also seemed to give him some hope.
      It was a heartbreaking yet semi beautiful episode. Seeing his eyes, and oh hearing Maggie just broke me ao muxh more. I feel so bad for both of them.

      Interesting. This is the 1st I've ever seen/heard that. Love how this show continues to feed ypu through tiny clues. I've easilyyyy rewatched this show (both regularly & with manyyyy reactors), and I still catch things I never saw/noticed/realized even after all these years. Especially in Season 11!!
      I think Lost is the only other show that still does that for me as well, so it's in great company 😉

    I loved Beth, and it was one of rhe harded deaths for me on the show. But I loved her arch. This tiny mouse of a girl, who stepped up, and became a baddass in her own right. What was even harder was watching the "Talking Dead" right after. Emily Kinney came on, and she was crying her eyes out. She had not expected that her character would get killed off so soon. She had just bought a house in the Atlanta erea. And leaving the show was like losing her family. They were all so close.😢

    If you don’t like the term “villain” for characters like Dawn, I find “antagonist” fits well. She’s definitely someone working against our protagonists for her own interests, but I wouldn’t really call her evil.
    Loved the reaction, RIP Beth :(

    • @PsychoticFruitfly
      @PsychoticFruitfly 10 місяців тому +2

      dawn's not evil, she's just been compromised.... and she knows it.
      the extortion, the abuses, the "rhymes with grape", all of that was to keep the other cops happy. she served up innocent injured people to "keep the peace" until she became one of the users/abusers. right and wrong are NOT a matter of perspective in this, and it took beth to remind her of that. and NOBODY likes being reminded of the dirt they did

    When i first watched it, i was like ugly crying... because i had really liked seeing Beths Character finally develop and become strong, and fought for what she believed in.
    She was a Greene she had a fight and fire in her, and those episodes with Daryl really made me care for her so much more. Oh, and seeing Daryls reaction and Maggies, Ricks, and Carols, it was that much more heartbreaking.
    I was very disappointed in how and why the writer chose to kill her off although in a creative sense i kinda get it... but dont.
    Which sucks because I really wanted Maggie to see how strong Beth had become. How Beth could survive for a while at least. I just I dont know... i was really disappointed.
    All that build up on beth to make half of us really love her (other ppl hated her)
    Then to kill her in just i dont know maybe a kind of senseless way.
    It was just so sad. I totally get what you are saying Beth attacked Dawn technically Dawn was protecting herself. But how did she even draw her gun that quick!? It must have already been out, right? Was she ready to kill to keep Noah?
    Thats the thing i could never figure out. It was like she had to have Noah or Beth. She couldn't let them both go free. It was like they were her lap dogs or something, how she convinced herself she was protecting them, ahe needed them not the other way around. When she was really starting to cause more chaos, it seemed within that hospital as rime went on.
    Okay im gonna stop because i feel like im rambling now and just repeating stuff i may have said in different ways. This was a rough one for me when i watched it and yes it was a great episode but man it sucked losing Beth in my opinion.

    • @DanReadd
      @DanReadd  10 місяців тому +3

      Hiiiiii 🧟
      I completely agree with you Angela.... Beth's potential and development felt so wasted. In a way, I really respect this show though. The ability to remind us that common tropes of strong characters almost developing as long term survivors clearly doesn't exist in this world! It makes sense!
      Dawn was so complicated for me... I felt she was a good example of good gone bad. The apocalypse clearly broke her, and this hospital only fuelled her illness.
      I took her having her gun drawn as a precaution ya know... if we were to oppose her power, and go against her wishes, she'd have the option to express her "Strength" with force. I don't believe she ever intended to kill Beth, just ensure she re-obtained Noah. She was capable of keeping him beneath her, and that made her plan feel like reality.
      One of the hardest part about watching The Walking Dead are the "What Ifs"... I WANT TO KNOW IF THERE WAS ANOTHER WAY! Ya know... UGGHHH
      Also... people hated Beth?!

    • @angelawhatley7298
      @angelawhatley7298 10 місяців тому

      @DanReadd @DanReadd Yes, there were so many Beth haters still are, actually ☹️. I really liked her character and loved her in seasons 4 and 5! She had potential for more, so it was sad to see it get taken away after those episodes where we got some great developments from her.
      With Dawn, man, I couldn't figure her out either. Like you, I was conflicted by her. Although what she was allowing some officers to do was just downright wrong and evil. I still didn't see her as a villain. Maybe just someone who couldn't accept the world had ended, with everything she had done, she couldn't accept it.
      This show definitely knows how to pull at the heartstrings. I still cried on this episode 😭🤦‍♀️.
      Like with this episode when I saw it, I'm like noo way I'm so mad I'm not watching it next episode, and I would, lol. I just still love it so much.
      As far as it going any other way, it would have had to be a sneak attack that someone else could have gotten killed instead. Or maybe Carol and Beth could have tried to escape after she was healed, but I really don't know.
      I wish Beth had left the scissors there or just whispered to Daryl to shoot her, lol.
      I honestly can't see too many other ways it could have gone down, though. That's the beauty and sadness all in one of it.

    I didn't understand Beth's action.I thought she must have been sacrificing herself. She must have expected they would retaliate. But I think Dawn's firing was a reflex. I don't think it was intentional. But it was her own fault. She should have just let Noah go. That felt retaliatory to me. Not like she really believed she needed him, but that she was punishing him. But Rick also could have let Noah go, as he more or less volunteered to stay, and maybe he could escape again later. ::sigh::
    And once again, it was Daryl that brought me to tears.
