I did my master 3 years ago but never wanted to work in IT. However, I'm thinking of shifting IT atm. Finished Google Data Analytics C. and working on Excel and SQL. From time to time I feel that it's too late but who knows what the future will bring to us. Thanks for the video
Definitely struggling with the “it’s too late” feeling as well. Gonna be finishing up the cert in the next few weeks and I’m excited to build a portfolio but I’m terrified of the job search. It seems even more competitive than ever, and for someone like me, with absolutely no college degree, I feel like David going up against Goliath
exactly the market in US is pretty bad right now and this is coming from a Master's degree holder in Comp SCI and that too from 8th Rank school in NY. But I would say do not give up hope, we can all maybe someday find jobs.@@PhelpsTalks
@@PhelpsTalks Having been where you are now, I would strongly recommend to pursue a certification, rather than this Google 'certificate of completion'. The course does not dive even in to an intermediate level in SQL/Tableau/R, let alone get one job ready. Once you get well versed in the topics, creating projects with relatable real life datasets will help you more than anything. Wishing you well.

Thank you. 40 now trying to change careers back to IT. My aim is to be proficient in data and business analysis since i have a lot of transferrable skills i can bring from management in hospitality as well. Wish me luck

I tried learning on my own and it just wasn’t working. I started Eastern universities MS in DS program in January and the structure is incredible. It really seems to be working for me with learning code.
I spent months honing my skills, built a good resume tying my previous experience to data analytics, made a portfolio with good projects and still can't get in front of people for an interview. I send out messages to data professionals on linkedin to try to grow my network and get ignored. Skills and portfolio are doing me no good when there's nobody to see them

I'm just talking for me, I'm very pessimistic and that's one of the things that has kept me from even trying. It was already hard because of the competition and all that but I found about automation about six years ago, and it has only gotten worse and more threatening. My guess is that those of us left behind may simply go back to a basic economy. Best of luck. ✊🏼

If you mean Chat GPT, no, it can’t. It can compile data and think of it from a logical point of view, but the reason Data Analysts will be keeping their job is the detective side of things. Higher level of thinking is required to figure out patterns or context that AI isn’t intelligent enough to produce. Stop fear mongering.
If that was the case Chen wouldn't have this video nor would training channels or avenues be utilized to get ppl potentially interested in the field. AI needs US ... not the other way around
