The turning loop is definitely the most common in real life, but what's mussing from the video and also quite common is a loop around several blocks. I think vienna has this a few times, as an example.
Yeah you can also do that:)
Indeed. Here a real life example of both on google maps in Vienna (Karlsplatz/Opera):
The simple loop is on the bottom of the view. Also a loop around 2 blocks.
Include an underground station and a bus station.

Another simple loop with a bus station is the Station "Stefan-Fadinger-Platz" in Vienna:

Greetings from Vienna :-)
I am not from Vienna (never was there) but here in prague we have it some times too (usualy around one block) (usualy in the center).
I think threre is one like that on line 1 in Praterstien I am not from Vienna not even from Öseriech but my sister lives there and I was few times at that ending stacion
@@user-ib9pz6id5bYes there are some there too and definitly go to Vienna It is realy pretty there. Are you from Czech rupublik?
2:55 I'd place some 1x1 commercial shops here, because small kiosks like this are very common in busy places
Very true
Oh yeah good idea:)
@@mantazaszaidzia4076 Lol.
Maybe the next episode will be about building a cargo port or a transhipment station
I think he already did that
He already built the port area in Vanilla Dream City.
But we need Vanila Marina though...
Nice video as always. Little comment: The titles are a little quick for my taste. I have to pause the video to read the text and the necessary DLC's.
Okay yeah, i thought that😂
Let's take a moment to aprecciate the time Imperatour put in editing this video.
🙏🏻❤️❤️
I know your amazing
Wow that's a good idea Imperatur
Even know I currently don't have Trams , it's good to know these tips , I'll be getting it soon and adding a tram line to my growing UK themed city , really needs them
Amazing content
Thanks mate:)
Trams are my favorite kind of public transport.
Thank you very much for this video.
Cool to hear:)
This video alone inspired me more than the whole 2020 combined
Haha great:D
I’m watching this after finishing work driving trams😅 Great stuff as always, Imperatur
Never put a stop of anything right next to a roundabout. Nice Design Ideas as always tho.
the next episode should be about building metro exchange hub
Yes! I could really use a nice above ground metro or train to a below ground metro!
Tram is my favourit type of public transport. It is easy to build and has a lot of capacity. Also you can build ”street trams” or ”rapid trams”. Trams has felexibility and capacity combined when other transport options has only one of those.
Maybe next episode a realistic farm?
Btw I really like the loop (2nd build) because it's really nice in suburbs whit waterfronts and for maybe starting/ending a light rail line☺️
Your videos are always appreciated and inspire creativity. Thanks again.
PS: Want to see your take on an inner city multi train hub sometime in the future.
i loved the turning loop.. but the depot isnt bad either
I always build a Balloon loop (Loop u made) Terminus for tram, and always build it several tracks for several tram routes stop there.
the tramway lines in my city have two types of end of line. The new tramways can go in both directions so they have just a buffer stop in their lines. But the old trams have only one cockpit so their lines need loops. Some loops are in the same station and other loops are around entire neighborhoods.
I'm so used to see straight tram terminus in Brussels that I find it weird to have to end it with a loop :p In Brussels, the tram stop at the station then the driver go to the other driver's cabin to make the tram go on the opposite direction. Thanks for the tips because I never know what to do with these loops !
Same in Seattle
In my city we have turning loops 😄
Yeah, I really need this one in Cities: Skylines! Double-sided trams are more common in Europe than ever before. Today creating ending station without a loop is impossible. :(
I think every modern tram system has double-sided trams.
Buses and the Metro or Underground as its known where I am are my favourite choices. Great work buddy and it's certainly given me some ideas, look forward to the next video.
Make a big industrial city in the next vid.
I love trams! Trams are everywhere in my city. I build a city inspired with European solutions. I hate metro because it's expensive in real life and not as easy to plan as trams. Streetcars have also priorities in most junctions in my city due to traffic lights and priority signs, so they are almost like a metro. The only thing I need in Cities: Skylines are integrated bus/tram stops on the same platform or solution called "double stops" in order to increase tram fluency.
Nice ideas. i love your videos man :)
Thanks bro:)
I mean, at this point, you should probably be a city manager or public transportation manager in real life. Such great ideas that not only look good, but would be functional in real life.
4:23 you scared me with these paths mate XDD
I dont play cities skylines but i enjoy your video :D very entertaining
The triangle.
We had this end of the line in our real town. The tram had to tunr left into a street, than dribing backwards and turning right and did so a 180° turn.
And then it could go the tracks back And because there was only one track. the next tram had to wait for it 2 stops earlier until it had passed.
When the made the track longer, they built a loop at the end.
My favourite type of public transport is ferry or "water bus", smaller boats.
When visting the UK I took all different ferry lines in the town I was in just for enjoying the boat trips.
Trams are definitely one of my favourite transport methods
imperatur, you are one awesome perfectionist person. I tend to watch your videos to learn about the art of city building in this game.
I love using trams. Great video!
Would love to see transitions from the end of highways to urban/suburban roads
The teardrop Terminal. Great video
my favourite public transport in cities skylines is metro. hands down.
My favorite type of public transportation: monorail and overground metro (you can make crazy hubs with snowfall, mass transit and harbour dlcs)
Tip: Build yourself a little custom park with a tram loop integrated! That way you can always have a nice loop, that doubles as a park.
Step 1: Build a road just outside the defined area in the editor
Step 2: build a short section of two way tram tracks that snaps to the road.
Step 3: delete the road.
Step 4: Build a one way loop that connects to the short section of two way track
Step 5: Decorate it with trees
Step 6: paint the middle of the loop in concrete, place a pagola for example and add that thing that makes people gather there (forgot the name)
Do steps 1 - 3 for a 16m road and a 32m road!
So I like to take the 4 lane road with tram tracks split it into 2 lane one way roads and have the main tracks go under the median so that way I can run express trams and local trams.
Actually stubbing tracks right in the middle of the road isn't unrealistic either.
Love the uploads man! Could I ask a quick favor? Your music is generally good to listen to. Could I bother you to post the info in your video descriptions so I can jam out later on? I know you post the webpage but then I gotta go searching lol thanks in advance!
Trams are best!
But it was better handled in Cities in Motion 2 to place tram tracks, because there you could place them like u want.
I love train traffic jams😍
2nd idea is works
Awesome, I love trams! This goes in my city for sure!
Thank you so much for making this! Thos inspired me a lot
I always try to make use of ferry boats. I haven't seen you use it in any of your videos lately. I'm trying to build a new city without mods, I'm using your builts as inspiration.
my favorite transport type is the tram but when the overground metro came it kinda looked like the rapid tram in my town
Love metro’s, I love trams for their complexity.
For method 3, wouldn’t having the roads so close together cause traffic issues?
I loved the second and the fourth 💖
Intermodal vanilla(maybe few mods) transit hub with tram, bus, monorail, train/metro or some advanced tram/bus line guide
Transport fever 2: that's cute
I like metro and train, i'll like to see Metro-Train Hub.!
I think a monorail central terminal wil be great next!
(Sorry for my bad english)
I‘m glad to hear that:)
You should do one about Plazas and how to make them look good and fit in your city
Yes early squad here
yes
Yes first 🙏🏻
My favorite public transport is trains.
Though I've never used public transport.
Us move it users would move the path over the sidewalk on the tram tracks so it looks like an authentic platform.
You've done trams - now bus and trolleybus line ends
I love a good monorail
I use the 2.22 design for terminus inside a module build park a bit like Vienna on the route 1
Thanks so much for this!
Maybe build a big plaza that have cafe and restaurant kinda like european style plaza sort of thing
Related to this video, can you make a road on a coast with trams on the sides including quays and parks, I like Izmir’s tram lines the most
Do you know you can click on the key "B" for destroy roads or buildings instead of clicking on the bulldozer logo?
Yes i know that:D idk why I do it always differently
@@imperatur i found that simplier :D
I don't usually like videos, but when I do...
It's always Imperatur
You guys are killing me drawing all those placeholder roads to make a perfect circle with the free form tool instead of using the curved road tool.
Trams love 90-degree turns :P
Build a monorail pls
Also this vid is handy
Looks so cool👍🏼
Hopefully a video for a Government/Administration District
I always think trolley bus is better than the tram in CSL until I see this.😂(So how about build a commuter train in next episode 👀)
Nr 2, the turning loop is my favourite...
My fav is the depot and the semi circle
Epic, well done
Gonna try hard to incorporate the loop and the plaza style
My favorite public transport is trams yes I do play cities skylines but I don't have snowfall dlc
Now I want to play Cities: Skylines again. Maybe after my exams first.
Good luck:)
Shouldn't need a turnaround, just terminate, crossover and return. Double ended trams aren't they?
Sadly no
no, coz tram in CSL works like Buses not as railway/Metro as "to-and-fro"(or "stop & return") mode that no need a loop.
Nope
U should build a realistic suburb with high hills
Interesting, curious if you have any video on use of Taxi in Cities Skyline like this video.
Waw you're a genius!
Why there is no mod to make train / tram realistic ? Like, there is 2 cabins, 1 in each side. The train / tram just stop at the terminus, and go backward without being "inversed teleported". That seems to be not that difficult to make a mod like this, isn't it ?
Thank you alot!
I realy like to use trams, metro and double-decker buses (especialy on the europian maps) but people most often us e the tram becouse the tram network is all over the city
Could you do a shopping center with medium transport hub?
I challenge you to build a sunken roundabout tram station
Well I used the second technique in my city and added the loop inside the park, so that people would pay to use the stop
In video: Snowfall DLC, Parklife DLC
In description: Sunset harbor DLC :D
would love to see a full bus service running
Build a border crossing next.
Really good!
Thanks:)
Maybe a Ferry?
Always wanted to use but couldn't find out how
The BEST part ... Without mods.🤠
You are the BEST ♥
Or a big shelter. My English is not very good because I live in Poland :)
I love it!
Yay trams! Trams are hard.
my favourite are the least used taxis.
What about ground and aboveground metro?
all the spice of the month lads like 👀
may i ask what map do you use
(the flat one )
What is a name of the pedestrian path you used in 0:24? I've seen it in so many videos and I just can't find it anywhere. Is it part of some dlc or is it just downloaded from workshop?
