@@myriamwhiting8871 Tamagotchi is a different thing then Tomodachi Life. Tomodachi means friend, and I believe came out way later than Tamagotchi.
@@aznmochibunny indeed! tamagotchis were released in 1996. everyone loved playing with those in the 90s and early 2000's! Tomodachi life was released in 2013 for Nintendo DS, waaaay later and they're super different 🤗

Oh man, this is the kind of "different language" setup I wanna see. It's unlikely Curly has EVER heard anything more than incidental Japanese and Japanese has almost no similarities to or common words with English or Spanish. I genuinely can't tell you what anything on the table is in Japanese, but I can guess at a lot of the Spanish - it's a perfect setup.

@@yinggg1992 Japanese,Chinese and Korean tend to have some similarities,while Spanish and Latin have more similarities to English,which is what OP meant when he said he found that the Spanish one was easier to guess than this because he's probably an English speaker

I’m learning Mandarin in high school, and hearing some words in Japanese that sound the same is really frickin cool.

@@yusalcido2600 it's the same in traditional chinese! 爱 is the simplified chinese version of the same word ♥️ I do also believe that written Japanese stemmed from Chinese so it's very common to see the same Chinese characters in Japanese writing ✍️

I tried making tonkastu/ katsudon 😅 but had to leave some Ingredients out like the mirin and the dashi soup stock..my grocery store didn't carry it so I had to use chicken it was still good 🙂

@@8precepsofdeath299 You could probably substitute a sweet cooking wine for mirin. dashi on the other hand is a wee bit harder to replace. If you can get bonito flakes (most asian convenience stores should have it) you can use that to make a dashi . well that and a little bit of kombu
@@8precepsofdeath299 I highly recommend looking up an international grocery store near you! They can certainty be intimidating but if you are interested in cooking at all it is really fun to just walk around and see all there is to offer. And you can find those ingredients if you wanted to actually buy them

I've been trying to learn Japanese, and listening to Rie talk to Curly was just the right speed for me. These two are also just delightful together. I'd love to see more of them.

Its barely wine though. Only 3% or less alcohol content. You can even buy it as a minor.
I love this on multiple levels. You dont need to understand another language to cook with someone and have fun. More people should do this. You learn alot

I'm getting PTSD flashbacks from the Japanese class I took in college. Sweetest old man taught it, I called him Jiji-sensei, but from the first day of class he spoke almost exclusively in Japanese for the 2 and a half hour class and it was TOUGH. Especially as someone who has classroom and presentation fear lol
