- Hello! Long time since my last upload. My Channel has grown significantly due to the success of one video in particular: How I painted my laminate counter top. My mind has been blown at watching the numbers go up .. and up and up .... reflecting on that, Ive been looking at my channel from a different perspective ..... I felt backed in a corner, afraid to make one move in any direction for fear that my viewers wanted just DIY videos. I felt like I was in stale mate, no where to go, that no matter which way I went it would be wrong . .... Ive found encouragement through my VRA course, the community, through other like minded UA-camrs and friends around me. Im so thankful and blessed by the growth that has happened and I hope I can continue to provide value to all of you all in some way. THANK YOU ALL!!!

We are all homemakers in some way, shape, or form, and I know I don't need to tell you think, but it's HARD ....in the trenches, you're down there giving so much of yourself to everyone else every day. You have to find fuel and encouragement in someway and I hope I can offer some encouragement to you in your life. We are all doing it, we are doing it ourselves, living a life, building a life we love with the people we love and ... it's all hard, but in that there is beauty, fulfillment and accomplishment.

I am HULDA from Puerto Rico, and when I saw that diy, of your counter top, and that was about 45 min. ago, and then I saw so down, that I had a flash back of 8 yrs. ago, I was so active in my real life, and after a cervical spine surgery of 5 cervicals in my back neck. I could tell you that I am a 20%, of the woman I was before. That make me loose my Job as a nursing teacher, because I could not even drive, walk alone,, so, the people who came to visit me, was telling me to take the SS by incapacity, and I did it 4 months after my surgery, because I was not feeling well. They gave me SS, but I cry like a kid when he loose his favorite game, for a lots of days or weeks. Now had pass 8 yrs and I still dont want to do nothing at all, until I saw that famous video.
Now I want to paint my counter top kitchen. Because I love it 💕. I could check if it comes in other colors, or if come in marble, my favorite.
My Inglish is not too good, but I want to let you know that gave some of energy to see if I could do it too. Thanks for sharing your expirience and hope to God that you feel better of your facture as soon as posible.

Discovered your countertop video today that led me to your update video. I am moved by your authenticity and honesty. Please, Please, give your self some grace. Life has its highs and lows. Don't beat yourself up when you are at a place of "oh, I should be doing this but don't feel like it." My Dear, you are doing the things that really matter. The rest always falls in place when you are doing the right thing.

I just wanna start by saying I usually NEVER subscribe or leave comments on videos but this touched my heart. We have a lot in common, I feel like I know you, so I want to share a few things;
Thank you for your video. I just bought a home and I was calculating how I would come up with the money for new countertops and cabinets which costs thousands but because of your video, I believe that I can transform my new kitchen and bathrooms beautifully for just hundreds. So, your videos make a difference!
We live in such a ‘right now’ instant society where we can get almost anything with a swipe or an app. Convenient, yes, but if we’re not careful it can cost us missing the moments that make our ‘journeys’. So even in the ‘funks’ embrace the lulls as much as you do your victories, after all without the funks how would we really recognize and appreciate the fabulous, right?
The good news, better days are coming. However, the kids, the mess, homework, juggling being a mom, wife, life lol…. in the blink of an eye they will move out on their own and believe it or not you will look back and long for these days. Cherish them, trust me, these too are the good times.
We are on a time schedule and get busy but thankfully God is always available. Even if all you have time for in the morning is “Thank you Father for another day and please order my steps Lord,” guess what, he hears you.
Lastly, we all need improvements, as long as you continue to strive to do your best, you will always come out ahead. Stay humble and gentle in spirit and remember… after you have done all you can, stand. More importantly, let the day come to an end. Rest, and go hard tomorrow, there is nothing wrong with taking a break.
I hope this encourages you as much as your video did me and countless others. Have a great and blessed Holiday.

@@jmarie7405 I’m no pro, but I choose things that are simple and economical, ive only seen it in black, off white and gloss white. That’s in the roller cans. There are spray cans, it may come in more colors. You will do great diy’ing! Have fun!

Love the realness! I am in the process of an inexpensive redo of my small kitchen by myself. Mainly painting countertops, walls, cabinets. Just starting. Tile has been removed for the most part. It will take awhile, since I work full time and husband can't stand strong smells!!! Can be a great stress reliever (or can create more stress if you run into challenges). I broke a middle toe last year slipping down a ladder while painting. 😕 Wish I was the retired one, so I can get more done around the house. So much in common with you except my kids are fully grown (which means I am older ☹). I garden too and love keeping life simple. We could be friends! 🙂
I would love to be friends! I desire simplicity so much, ... its easier said than done, i feel like it comes and goes in seasons, especially with young kiddos. Thank you so much for watching and commenting Mary, I hope you stay connected here. Projects can be a stress reliever for sure, Its a creative outlet for me. Wishing I could do more projects back to back, we have to save and budget, which can take a while, and right now the garden and putting up food is taking my time. This paint i used on my counter, is REALY STRONG smelling, really bad actually, I should have been better at wearing a mask. OUTCH!! I can't imagine the aching and pain of your toe break. Thats no fun. If we were local friends I would help you with your kitchen makeover. We are working on picking out flooring, choosing my next project and deciding on paint colors for cabinets and what to do about the back splash, all the things. Have you considered re-doing your cabinets, with the Rust-Oleum cabinet refinishing kit?
