I play with a 3 person group and I sometimes forget how challenging the early horde nights can be. Videos like this can be a real life saver to solo's or newer players! even to vets there is so much good content here it's like opening a red loot bag.
@@pseudoposse I really like the idea of separating the wolfs out for the loot bags. Here is a challenge, can you split out the demos too? I hate using a mod to extend the loot bag timers but it's the only good way to get the red bags... unless you can "sort" them?
I was wrestling with this issue in a new game so thanks for the idea I am so incorporating this as it will help with dogs as well as in later game, bears. You are my premier goto for building information and ideas now, thanks!
Just made it through an early horde with my friend with this design and it worked well, but we got no dire wolf yet so I am excited for that test. Also most zombies did not go on the long path and some that did started to stop and break stuff so I think I will shorten it a bit. Thank you for this cool video!
Definitely an interesting base design. Fortunately, I've not had any problems with Dire wolves. Sure, in early game, but late game, I rarely see them. Even dogs. I am still running v1.0. But I always make an alternate route in case I do get the zombie dogs. Cheers.
You showed in another video, that dire wolves can't drop through a hatch. So you can filter them with a hatch drop too. I wonder whether there are designs using stairs with ramp shape ceilings which are passable by all bipeds but not dire wolves.
@@pseudoposse Dropping them likely just requires making the hole 1x2. Making stairs impassable to them while still passable for all the biped zombies (and maybe dogs) would be great. Also, some sort of filter that lets dire wolves through but blocks anything else would be nice.
Good morning, if anyone is interested - to split out dogs on the Dire Wolf path, just add a 1-1/2 block high crawling alternate and the dogs will go this way. UPDATE - just tested again and it did not work, the Dire Wolf just jumps up and down at the 1-1/2 block high crawling path and ignores the slightly longer path that it can use (no obstructions).
personaly i would make so the end of the longer path ended on the same wall as the shorter one so you can have everything in the view at the same time... lots of loud noises during horde nights
@pseudoposse Can you find any data on hunger and stamina? I'm looking for hard numbers on standard hunger decay rates and how movement affects it. I'm also looking for decay rates per weapon use such as the difference between the club and bone knife. I did watch and absorb this whole video; thanks for the data. This data is why I subbed. Splendid work!!
Love the build! Lately I have been renovating POI’s into horde bases as the POI tag increases loot stage. What early game POI’s would you choose? Would love to see your take. I know you just did one in a remnant, and I liked that one but I’m just loot fiend.
Anything concrete with a standard-cube flat roof or a second story is good. Some of those are just T3 and reasonably easy to clear early on using hatches, spikes and shapes together with a spear for social distancing.
Never fear the dire wolf again!

Absolutely! I think having a way of handling the dire wolves will solve a lot of beginner player problems.

Happy to help and be your go-to for building ideas!

You'll likely start seeing the dire wolf by the second or third horde depending on how fast you level up. Good luck!
Hey pseudo, could you please do a tutorial for everything to know with water bases?
...and especially filling of moats with water from a nearby lake by digging short canals please.
Yeah sure thing!
Man made his horde base ADA accessable
Absolutely 😁

I've seen them rarer in the late game as well. But it's good you've been able to handle them.
Direbolical 👌🏻
Naturally 😜
You did it again.😏
thanks for the video!
Our pleasure!

I'll definitely have to explore alternate approaches to dropping the dire wolves.

That is certainly doable if you want to expand the size of the front :)
I was thinking I'd use pressure plates before the doors. Wire the plates to lights, see the light flash, I have a wolf at the other door

Welcome aboard! I know I have seen that information in the game's files. Perhaps that could be a future video 😊
@pseudoposse
Id appreciate it. This data is what I look for

Can I ask, do you happen to know where the best place to find the Shamway Secret Recipe?
Anyone else think that the new dire wolf is kind of cute?
What if Direwolf20 shows up?
Did you ever make a tower base?
Sure have!
@@pseudoposse which vid I looked for it.
Bro build a damn mcdonald's playhouse lmfao
Pretty accurate 🤣
Missed Taco…no one around to tell you to do better 😂
Haha yeah 😄
@@pseudoposse do better! 😜
