The Diesel is already released for sale in Switzerland. It comes with 500nm stock, with an option for a 600nm upgrade. With 600nm, it has more torque to weight than the 200 series, and slightly less than the 300. This is not hybrid, 2.8l with 8 speed auto. I'm going to get it, and put some 275/70/r18 to raise it quite a bit. No lift required. Most 17's won't fit, due to front calipers being too close to rim. This will be a beast, and personally glad it's using a proven engine, with improved transmission (more gears, lower ratios) - makes complete sense.
the Altitud is the 4wd spec. and it is 5 seats. comes with A/T toyo tires, rear lockers and i am not 100% sure but i think it comes with snorkel
What sucks is that rear diff isn't standard across the range like it used to be 😢
I believe the spare tyre was under the car and a rear barn door with the rear glass that opened..... I believe.....
Rafaaaaa!!
I was told by Rockingham Toyota the other day this Prado arrives in September
September! Not far off
GX in most Toyotas the best value Sweet Spot
It's a mall crawler with zero offroad credentials and less luxury features than a Kia picanto.
Australia won't be getting the round headlights at all.
I am a bit disappointed why no "Toyota" the classic look on VX and Kakadu. They will have a vertical grill like 150 series my understanding. "oh what a feeling"
Gx will be almost the same price as the run out 23 VX model at 82000 to 83000 on road with the v-active 48 volt system
Hmmmm
Cannot wait to see Ronny trial the Altitude! 😀👍
Add it to the fleet

No round lights in Australia
😪
phew...
Thank god for that
Altitude = GR sport in 300 with sway bar disconnect (5seat)
GXL does not come with rear differential lock now.
2.8L GLX 76 is the
Way to go now.
I think the VX also doesn't come with a rear diff lock too
What and put up with the less than useful off-road credentials of the stock 76??

Yep. Spot on
So $80k as apparently "affordable" 🤣🤣🤣 damm these influencers have lost touch
I was thinking the same thing They are so out of touch with people they try to influence. Affordable?? Kkkkk
Biggest downside is the 80L tank capacity
South African spec has a secondary tank of 30 litres in all models
I just wish for the old 4ltr petrol just goes forever...
Although GX 250 is considered povo pack, it has way more features than the GXL 76 series (with same motor and 2 less gears), prob around $6k cheaper on road and has the 300 series chassis. Old 150 vs 200 series up on the hoist were notable differences from underneath but now seemingly not the case so something to consider. As a former 150 Prado and 76 series V8 owner, I think you couldn't go past the 250 but likely in GXL spec for the elec tailgate, wireless charge pad and heated/cooled seats. shame about the rear diff lock delete though, would have to weigh up if worth getting the Altitude which is very nice package.
If the 48v battery is in the back will it ruin the flat loading space like the US 2.4 ltr petrol hybrid does?
Hope not
You guys are better than this video.
Who says you shouldn’t tow more than your car weighs
Look at trucks
19th May Drive post
Pictures of new Prado with bull bar under testing
Might be Toyotas extra option
Starting point for Prado in South Africa is 107k AUD
That is just ludicrous
If this gets 107k likes we will buy one.
Ronnie when are you coming to Africa?
New day, new price rises from Toyota.
I’ve got my name on one. But on the American videos it shows the hybrid system in the boot under a hatch were you would have a spare tyre in a normal car. So it’s going to be annoying if you want a draw system or fridge and you need to access it because you will need to pull the whole lot out.
Hm that is annoying
No wheel on the back so will be interested in the fuel tank capacity.
Underpowered and overpriced. Why didn’t it at least get the retuned 165kw 550NM motor?
because the petrol version has less towing capacity (because Au market is too small)
Looks Like old Mitsubishi Pajero..
underpowered overpriced, how very toyota
Looks like a bloody Jeep
