I love Eastern Chinese dragons. In fact I’m proud and happy that my mom who happens to be very traditional gave me my middle name after the ancient golden dragon. 😊
If I would be a dragon I'll choose a dragon that slithers in the sky and have divine power, intelligence and wisdom than a dragon who destroys castle and known as the enemy of a Knight.
I like how it alludes that Eastern Dragons "broke" with the Western Tradition of Dragons, as if the Eastern Dragons don't predate the Western ones by centuries or maybe millenia. THERE BE DRAGONS !
Slay the dragon. It brings fire, brimstone, catastrophe and doom. Nothing roars the end times as a giant red dragon dive bombing and burning entire towns to a cinder.
Chinese and the nz maori/ polynesian seen dragons/mamaid in the sea thousands of years ago. The Europeans just made up flying fire drogons for books n fantasy
龙王(Dragon King) is pronounced as Long Wong. It's hard to explain through words, but it more towards how people pronounced "Wong" from the MCU, the one with Doctor Strange. Not "Wang". Well, "Wang" is the correct spelling in terms of using alphabet but then the "a" could be pronounced in another way, if you know what I mean.
This was informative. Thank you. I like to watch the Chinese dramas but have a hard time hearing a pronu nciation vs an English transliteration spelling. Never made sense to my western ears.😮
The dragon is the ancestor of the Han people (漢族人). The Han people call themselves the children of the dragon. In ancient China. Dragon is also a symbol of the power of the Chinese Empire. Only the Han people could use the dragon's totem (non -Han people secretly used "dragons" to impersonate. It is to be beheaded and eliminated). When the Han people(漢人) arrive and occupy a place. The Han people will bring the dragons and other Chinese culture (such as Chinese characters. Chinese religion. Chinese coin. Chinese architecture. Chinese Confucianism. Chinese governance system .......). Appearance appears. There are no so -called Japanese dragons and Korea. That is their lies to delete history. * Ancient Chinese (before 1949) = Han people 漢人
