Sun Wukong learned 72 transformations and "hyperspace traveling" from an immortal, snatched an unbreakable golden stick and golden armor of immunity from a bunch of sea dragons, stolen and ate forbidden fruits of longevity, pumped himself full of heavenly drugs & adrenaline ... he is practically unkillable... so OP XD
he's like 5 times immortal
He is also inspiration for Goku
@Chav Catcher why do u think he massacre the entire angel squad in heaven 😂
Those drugs just granted him temporary invularability, and his opponents were mostly grunts and middle level personnel; during his journey to the west, there are enemies stronger than him, and there are times where he is almost killed.
Just read "Journey to the West" or "Monkey"
I like Sun Wukong because :
1. Monke
2. He can create doppelgangers
3. Is super strong
4. Reflects how people can change
5. Shows how desperate mortals want to be immortal
6. Has a fucking Golden Staff that can change size!
7. He is basically feared by most gods
Almost all the gods,
He also bullied the gods into calling him great sage
And let’s not forget his other form buddha wukong
I also have a golden staff that could change size depending on my mood.
Also Monke > Nezha
The fact that Buddha literally gives Sun Wukong the middle finger is the best part! :D

To be fair, he also asked a dog to watch a heaping plate of bacon. So maybe he's none too knowledgeable about animal behavior.
A certain wise man once said:
“It’s not just about living forever. The trick is living with yourself forever”
The trick to that is multiple personalities. Technically dont gotta live with yourself that way, just let one of the other personalities have control when you start feeling guilt for living.

Fun fact: 72 transformations technique was just a name, he could in fact transform into anything even, get this, transform into a version of himself that is as strong as his opponent. Then he can use his thousands of body hairs to clone that very same transformation and the clones are AS STRONG as the original.
I know I know. OP as fuck.
The cloned self has no original power and is easily defeated
@@库拉-m1l where are you getting this his clone has the same abilities as the original meaning the clone can become just as strong as any opponent and also make another clone etc Wukong is ridiculous
@@库拉-m1l no it cannot be easily defeated, only wukong has the power to reduce the clone that has the same powers and abilities as him to a cloud of smoke...
Not anything though,he can't transform into Gods and highly powerful ones like Jade Emperor,Buddha etc..but for the most part yeah his opponent will face 100 dopplegangs of himself/herself..
Transformation is just 1 of 72 masteries that he is mastered. And more than half of his 72 masteries are useless to Opponents.WuKong has terrible weapon, not too much useful masteries except Transformation/Strengthen/Long distance Jump.Like Naruto,Wukong knows how to make his Spells shining.
In Chinese culture, there is an idiom called 心猿意马 (Xin Yuan Yi Ma). It is a metaphor meaning "Heart is like a Monkey, Mind is like a Horse". The monkey is Wukong, the horse is the monk Tang Sanzang's (who rescued Wukong from the mountain of five elements) saddle horse.

But try watch it with mind, that Wukong, Pigsy, Sandy are not only pilgrims accompany monk, but for real they are part of his personality. They are weakness and strong sides of his soul. I've been an avid fan of Journey to the West since I was a baby. I haven't seen any English UA-cam video on the Monkey King that successfully summarizes his origin story so well. Keeping in some important details, like how he wandered the lands for years before meeting with his first teacher Subhūti.
Please keep producing, I'm looking forward to your Journey to the West series. Take your time and make multiple videos, as Journey to the West is a huge epic and should be covered in full.
I checked the reaction from Black Myth Wukong I kinda disappointed that most western peoples don’t even know the classic legendary mythology characters like the Chinese monkey king Sun Wukong from Journey the west mythology and Hanuman the monkey god of Indian from Hindu mythology.
There’s a couple good ones…keep lookin 👍
Check out overly sarcastic productions multipart series on Journey to the West.
I even think that a movie should be made about wukong's adventures starring
Well, you still have to look more, because this one is also very inaccurate! You mentioned 'wandering the lands for years', yes, but there are much more.
Sun wukong is like that one rare protagonist that we care about more than the main charecter
Actually, it seems even the author cared more about Wukong. Wukong have the most screen time than other character in the book.
he has seven entire chapters around his origin story, Tripitaka/Tang Sangzang (the actual main character) gets like 4 and half of it is just the convoluted origin of a festival he partakes in
Son Wukong IS the main character though.
A quick correction. When stone crossed the waterfall he was crowned 'Handsome Monkey King' I feel Sun Wukong would feel the handsome part is very important
Yes,because Wukong is very ugly.He hates when people says about his appearance. That’s why he names himself “Handsome Monkey King”.
Haha indeed, his full title should be 花果山水帘洞美猴王齐天大圣孙悟空 / handsome monkey king from the flower and fruit mountain, the great sage equal of heaven sun wu kong
Hercules VS Sun Wukong
The connections between Hercules and Sun Wukong are that both are mythological heroes who became enemies with gods and committed bad deeds (Hercules killed his family and Wukong constantly tricked the gods), leading to them redeeming themselves by going on a great quest (Hercules completing his 12 labours and Wukong going on a journey to the West to gather the Buddhist sutras, respectively), that ultimately let them ascend to godhood when completed.
"Bad deeds" Hercules didn't mean to and it was the gods fault. The Monkey King is just childish. He hasn't ever harm innocent mortals before.
Hercules became the god of strength right? But Wukong became a fighting buddha and gained omnipotence, I think he wins... jokes aside I think Wukong's absurd amount of abilities and stacks of immortality pulls him past Hercules. Plus even close to the start of Wukong's rampage he fought the whole army of Heaven, I don't think Hercules could do that in his mythology

What makes Sun Wukong most likable is his courage to resist authority and refusal to yield to power.

Well the author got all his mythological lore correct before he wrote the book. One of the most amazing classic fantasy adventure to read.
You can tell in this mythology time is but a cosmic parlance. How The monkey King lived for centuries in Bliss with other monkeys that were there, where do they all come from, and then the master? How is there such a being in total isolation and yet we know nothing about him? Ah mythology is incredibly entertaining as illustrative, love this video!

It will never cease to amaze me just how creative humans can be when coming up with stories like this in an attempt to explain and understand what they were unable to at the time. Better than any stories we can come up with today, that is for sure. Also, not sure how many levels of immortality can exist. You are either immortal or you are not. What is the point of obtaining immortality multiple times over? It's not like immortality can be stacked. I don't know. Maybe I am the only one that thinks about these things.
The monkey king's body is immortal, but the God of death wanted to take away the monkey king's soul, and then the God of death was defeated.
It’s part of the character. One immortality isn’t enough, he needs to be extra
The fruits are for all the Gods. The pills however were only for the Jade Emperor. I guess you have to read the full story to understand the differences, this video is just a summary.
@Harry Moreno hmm. I suppose this makes sense. I guess that would make him a very greedy/ambitious character (depending on the circumstance), wouldn't it?
