Those drugs just granted him temporary invularability, and his opponents were mostly grunts and middle level personnel; during his journey to the west, there are enemies stronger than him, and there are times where he is almost killed.

@@grandmillenial7960 sun wukong could travel to heaven, or you could say to the after life. he could travel trough the dimensions at will meaning to earth when ever he wanted. and for as long as he wants, That’s immorality
@@miningthesilverlining4947 In chinese mythology the heaven , earth and Hell are not in other dimensions they are in earth but in different locations means the heaven is in the clouds ,then below them is the land on which humans lives and below the land you can find the land of fallen gods and demons (which we call hell). And for your information in chinese mythology the gods are not immortals they are just extremely long living beings with supernatural powers but they can get old and die. Also being able to travel between heaven and earth is not immortality.
One of the biggest misconceptions about Sun Wukong is that he is a god of trickery. He is not a god. He is a demon A demon who through a redemption journey, became enlightened and achieved Buddhahood. It highlights the idea that doesn’t matter who you are and how terrible your wrongdoing is, redemption is possible as long as you are willing to
Well, actually this is not a story about redemption (of course everyone has their own interpretation), redemption is only part of this story, it also tells about rebellion against power, unspoken rules of society, Chinese philosophical thinking, it reflects no, You'll see all kinds of weird and unfair rules, you'll see monsters without backgrounds get killed, monsters with backgrounds are forgiven for doing evil, and you'll see even in the holiest places Monsters do evil, some people corrupt and take bribes. In short, this is a book with a lot of content, which is why it is not called the road of redemption but the road to the west. Everything is a story that happened during the journey. This novel is more like a myth. In fact, because the story of Journey to the West has been widely spread in China for hundreds of years, Sun Wukong has gradually become a part of the myth. Even if we know it is virtual, you can imagine that it is a generation Another generation of Chinese idols, children have worshipped the Monkey King since longer than our grandfather. He's lawless, but he follows a certain kind of justice that exists in people's hearts...you can imagine he's a combination of Joker, Robin Hood, Batman, Superman, Loki, Hulk...he's cranky and he's naughty (this is His side as a monkey), but he is righteous, brave and full of wisdom (this is his side as a Buddha), and at the same time he also understands the world, he can figure out people's hearts well, and has a good relationship with gods (this is his role as a buddha). The human side), this is a very full image, he is the protagonist of this story, but he is not the main body of this story, he is just a part of this story, this is not just a story about growth and transformation of teenagers, this is a time A rich journey to the west, the characters that appear on each journey are important in his plot, everything on the journey is part of the story, human nature, society, desire, greed, philosophy, Taoism and Buddhist mythology, Chinese Ways of looking at the world, many metaphors...

Think hanuman is different from sun wukong.. Sun wukong was a king, hanuman was always a servant first to his own king and then to Rama.. Second hanuman was of the wind while sun was of the earth in a way.. Third the weapons that they used were completely different.. Hanuman using his tail and mace and sun wukong often using his bar and shape-shifting
Sun Wukong has inspired so so many wonderful stories. Eastern storytelling wouldn't be the same without him and modern western storytelling wouldn't be the same either. So many protagonists that strive for a good fight and getting stronger owe everything to Wukong's story.

You can tell in this mythology time is but a cosmic parlance. How The monkey King lived for centuries in Bliss with other monkeys that were there, where do they all come from, and then the master? How is there such a being in total isolation and yet we know nothing about him? Ah mythology is incredibly entertaining as illustrative, love this video!
One Piece has "Money D Luffy" who sets out to sea to become "King of the Pirates", and has the "Will of D" which is essentially rebelling against the "Gods" who rule the world government. One of the places he went was "Sabaody"
How badass was the journey to the west? It inspired games as wukong or sun , naruto(shadow clones),goku, and heck he has the beam out of his eyes first before superman. And thats after 4-5 centuries after the novel was written
It will never cease to amaze me just how creative humans can be when coming up with stories like this in an attempt to explain and understand what they were unable to at the time. Better than any stories we can come up with today, that is for sure. Also, not sure how many levels of immortality can exist. You are either immortal or you are not. What is the point of obtaining immortality multiple times over? It's not like immortality can be stacked. I don't know. Maybe I am the only one that thinks about these things.
The fruits are for all the Gods. The pills however were only for the Jade Emperor. I guess you have to read the full story to understand the differences, this video is just a summary.
@Harry Moreno hmm. I suppose this makes sense. I guess that would make him a very greedy/ambitious character (depending on the circumstance), wouldn't it? Never being satisfied with his current level and always wanting to reach that next level. Oh wow. I knew that DragonBall was inspired by the "journey to the west" story, and that goku was the stand in for the monkey King, but I didn't realize just how similar their personalities were until just now

To be immortal you must know how to die. and be reborn, at will.
@@miningthesilverlining4947 Immortality itself is opposite of what you wrote.
Being immortal means you can not die whatever the mean.
@@grandmillenial7960 you’re confusing what films have told you and the reality of the situation
He is a demon
A demon who through a redemption journey, became enlightened and achieved Buddhahood.

Sometimes there is truth & reality in myths and legends more than we know or can appreciate!

The monkey king's body is immortal, but the God of death wanted to take away the monkey king's soul, and then the God of death was defeated.
It’s part of the character. One immortality isn’t enough, he needs to be extra

@Harry Moreno hmm. I suppose this makes sense. I guess that would make him a very greedy/ambitious character (depending on the circumstance), wouldn't it?
