      @@InfoManiac742 So, radioactive, but such a long half life that you can treat it as stable for all purposes. Scientists never even measured any decay in samples at all until the 2000s, and even then only in very specific conditions. (And why am I discussing chemistry in a speedrunning Q&A video? UA-cam can be weird sometimes...)

      It happens for any unique content type - someone does it, then anyone else who does similar content gets accused of copying their content or style. While there are some pretty bad SummoningSalt clones out there (including one who apparently used all of the same music, though I haven't seen that myself), Bismuth provides a very different, and often far more technical take on the genre. Like he said during the 'collab' part of the video, they're complementary styles and different takes on the same broad subject matter.
      Oh, and please give us a full cover of We're Finally Landing. The bit we got was awesome!

    You and SS make very different videos. He makes more speedlore documentary type vids, and you make more in depth technical dives in specific speedruns/speedrun games. Both are great and I think should stay separate.

    Nice, you're not very far from me, I remember seeing you reply to someone in French once, but I would never have guessed from your English you actually lived in Québec.
    Your videos, as well as some other people's content you mentioned in this video, are among the stuff I enjoy watching before sleep, the only downside is that most if the time I actually fall asleep before reaching half of them, making me watch videos in several sessions each time lol

    People might be quick to jump to a comparison between you and SummoningSalt, but I don't think it's entirely baseless.
    I remember seeing a comment that went "Bismuth for Sciences, and SummoningSalt for History", which I think is pretty spot-on.
    You two might "teach" different topics in different ways, but you both work in the same "school".

    i love the piano music you play in the background of every video, I'd love to see some of this uploaded unlisted or something cause it really makes the videos a lot more enjoyable. I normally wouldn't watch a q&a but the music in the background really made it for me, great job!

    As a motion designer I was very much intrigued by the way you are visualizing your explanations. For instance I really loved how you demonstrated the level wrap in Zelda 1. The anti Link is a great showcase of creativity on your side. Keep up the good work!

    I love editing as well, as with the music (sounds like I'm buttering but its simply true) I simply knew more about the editing process and still haven't seen the best of editing. I simply don't have the inspiration to adventure into the dedication as of yet. Its there for projects but its just on the shelf... anyways keep it up Bismuth!

      Summoning Salt just hit 1M subs, and released a video about it, and I was shocked that bismuth didn't have similar numbers. Then I looked and discovered to my shock that I wasn't actually subbed to him myself. I fixed that immediatey.

    Weirdly enough your relationship with summoning salt reminds me a bit of the relationship between MOTI and Juno songs. Both are extremely skilled and make great content, both make relatively similar content in the general concept, and both get confused with and sometimes accused of copying the other.

    Great Q&A! Not to brag, but I think I saw the Pannenkoek inspiration/influence when I watched the video the first time; The visual style of editing & moving around Mario & maps & simple geometric images was very reminiscent of his style, & I liked it.
    Shame about no Summoning Salt Q&A, but I totally understand why. Your styles can't work together in a lot of circumstances, & that's okay!

    Anyhow, since you would be open to explaining speed runs of games other than retro (as long as the science behind it is complexe and interesting), would games from a console like the ps1 suit your interest? Assuming that the reason newer game’s speed runs are less complicated because they don’t require as much math and algorithmes...

      PS1 is a little bit unlikely because I know these games very little, so there's a good chance I do other games first before dabbling into PS1 games.

    Even if you're fed up with the comparisons I'm not gonna lie: I discovered your channel when the YT algorithm randomly played a video of yours after watching some Summoning Salt. And I actually like your stuff better - sorry SS. You delve even deeper into the nerdy details about frames/pixels/overall mechanics/whatnot, while maintaining an easy-to-follow style with superbly descriptive editing and narration (I like when people explain things like I'm 5).
    Also I didn't realize you made the music yourself, and as a musician of sorts, I will definitely check out your music channel as well!

    About your voice: Go after singing lessons, if you don't want to sing, the technique will certainly help you learn how to relax. The mains reason we get tired is a lot of muscular tension we generate unconsciously.
