For $30 this should have. A 5 star review. If you told someone 20-25 years ago that you could fly a drone, with a video camera attached to it, using you mobile phone for $30 they would have thought you were full of it.
E88 Pro is often discounted down to $9.99. Imagine how cheap the electronics & lithium batteries have become if the Chinese are able to make a profit from that.
These E88 style drones are pretty fun for a beginner like me. No doubt, they will not compete with anything costing more than $25 to $50 even. I like it because it's pretty simple and teaches you the basics of learning the controls in order to manually fly a drone without putting a lot of money on the line. Yeah, camera is disappointing, not 4k as my videos show 1280 x 676, haha. Photos with it are better, but not great. As far as I can tell, a 720p camera for both picture and video. Photos show "33 MP" and 1.5 mb file size at 7680 x 4320 resolution, which is probably how they can legally claim "4k" but it's not. It's more or less just 1280 x 720 blown up to that 7680 x 4320 resolution, which is misleading. All in all, camera is about the level of a cheap cellphone camera. Apart from that, it's a fun flier and has survived lots of crashes and even having to be dislodged from a tree and falling to the ground. lol
Great comment Destin65. I figured it was around a 720p camera as well, I had a similar thing with a 4k Aliepress action camera. The photos on that were defiantly better. I wonder if there is something out there that can confirm the sensor. I had a lot of fun flying it before it decided to fly off into a tree as well haha.
Yes E88 drone is lot of run for me too. I can hack it and do what ever I want and lose it or break it, for $10, it's fine. And it allows me to save my "precious" Eachine E58 from wear and tear. Eachine E58 is grand daddy of these cheap "mavic clone" drones, but with critical difference of decent 120 deg wide angle cam and SD slot for DVR. Too bad you can't get Eachine E58 anymore as it's out of production now.
That's pretty insane lmao. I bought a V88 from aliexpress to play with my brother on hikes, it still working after approx. 10 uses of the battery. @@videovoyagersaus
What your saying is true, but for someone with limited funds and the desire to learn to fly a drone, You cant beat it. Try learning to fly a $800 RC and destroying it while trying to learn. Been there done that!
Yeah the limited funds thing is hard, that’s why I suggested second hand. I honestly do not think I learned anything about flying a drone with the E88. I did learn about sprinting when chasing after it when it lost control lol.
In 2017, I bought a Potensic drone on Amazon for 160 euros-money down the drain. It was awful: the battery didn’t last more than a few minutes, it couldn’t hover in mid-air, and it was hard to maneuver. I eventually fried a motor by hitting a tree. After giving it a one-star review, they sent me a new motor to change my rating. I had to use a soldering iron, but even with the new motor, the drone was still unstable, easily went out of control, and became dangerous. It’s one of the worst purchases I’ve ever made.
Yes E88 camera is awful, and hardware is fragile/glitchy. But for $10, I think of it more as a cheap drone kit to tinker with. They even throw in a screw driver so you can open it up. One thing I did was to drill a hole on each of the four legs for oil port. I lube the crown gears before each flight and instead of sounding like a sawing machine, it's smooth now. Also another common hack is to add a legit antenna to the controller instead of those fake plastic ones. I am surprised there isn't more people tinkering with these cheap E88 drones for fun. Real Mavic drone no doubt is a million times better than poor cheap E88 , but not everyone needs a professional quality drone.
I have a similar model, these chinese companies are well known for using very similar parts ans changing the outsides. The cameras on these models are always terrible but for me anyways the drone laster quite a few crashes! And here's the bottom line I would highly recommend using this drone for practice before buying a more steroids drone like a Dji one and just kesnr how to get use to the controls and how to react to obstacles in your way. If you get good with this then DJIbstuff will be far easier because DJibhave extra assistance tools built in and this doesn't even have a GPS!
@@videovoyagersaus the box has no model on it. But based on the video on the QR code it's a F166. It has some kind of obstacle avoidance system on the top but I don't use it much.
All the cheap Chinese drones are rubbish they are all over UA-cam, their favourite trick is using actual video from a dji or autel and claim it is from their drone or they actually show pics of these two manufacturer's drones claiming this is the drone you will get. I saw one on Facebook today and they were clearly showing an autel evo and saying this rubbish they were selling was 6k you would be lucky if it was even 1080, problem is people fall for it and these scammers get away with it.
Couldn’t agree more. I hope it discourages people from buying it. I was going to give it away to someone that is curious about disassembling it. Otherwise it would just end up being landfill….not good.
I would hardly call it professional, more like entry level, especially being an older generation now. But my point was more around getting something second hand if you want to get into drone photography.

Processing power did became really cheap. Regardless I'm amazed at how they managed to make the mechanical components so cheap.

Little late I know, but good comparison $30 drone vs $800 drone...mmm ..i wonder which is best?
Yeah haha, I just hoped for more out of the cheaper one.
Really?
I think thats not the case for all. The drone works perfectly fine for us . Also, can you lend us the battery ? Cause ours STOPPED WORKING.
Yeah I have heard mixed reports, maybe some people get lucky. Unfortunately I gave it away, hopefully you can find a battery somewhere.
You could have calibrated the e88 first you know it don't have gps the calibration is done with those arrows on the controller
It was calibrated, did you notice a difference when you did it with yours?
@@videovoyagersaus yep
can you make a video specially on how to use the drone control
Hey mate, unfortunately the drone broke in the middle of filming the review.

That's a really good point, I actually gave mine to my niece to learn how it all works. Be pretty cool to see a transformed E88, great idea.
Can you explain how u do that? how to make a hole add oil bla2
What is that cameta fps? 0.5?
If you are lucky haha
For 30$ is good it has cam and can fly too
They have definitely come a long way.
Czy możesz porównać z E88S wersja ulepszona, silnik bezszczotkowy? Czy kamera jest lepsza i sterowanie?
Z pewnością! Bądźcie czujni, a ja postaram się wypuścić jednego.
what about battery life?
About 20mins depending on conditions. But if you were to assimilate it being the Borg queen, you might get more ;)
It's simply a shame to compare the E88 with a drone 20 times more expensive. What is this?
I get it. My main point was if you really want to get into droning a good second hand one would be an option.

10usd now
