You sir are the "Dog's bollocs" I've been wading through so much information trying to sort this out and and here you come along, articulate, concise and and captivating. What the hell is wrong with you making so much sense..... I subbed you and offer my sincerest thanks
My dad had a ring door bell and a fire tv stick & I do think it would help him also with an echo dot linked altogether so glad to see this video thanks I hopefully can sort all 3 at some point to get it all working once I’ve got an echo dot hopefully he will be ok with the plan
oh my god thank you so much, i have been pulling my hair out trying to get this, so if i have my ring on the firestick then i cant have it on the echo show to , but i dont mind, i can see my street on my tv, once again thank you.
If it’s a second generation I believe you can but from reviews and what I’ve heard it isn’t very reliable. Here is a link to tell you how to do it: www.lifewire.com/how-to-add-ring-doorbell-to-google-home-4766585
I’ve searched all over the internet for the answer to this question with no luck, is there any way of making the volume full on the eco device for doorbell sounds, like if I’m using It for background music then forget to turn it back up I can barely hear the doorbell?
Hi I have the 4K fire stick with Alexa, that is the only Alexa device I have in my house, I followed your instructions. The message you warned about “sorry we could not find any devices to link” came up, it all appears ok, it’s in my skills, I changed my password so all my Amazon is under one password, I logged out of my fire stick and Alexa app then back in again to link with no success. Do I need a dot or Alexa to do this. Btw thanks for taking the time to do the vid.
Hi Steve, I don’t think you need another Alexa device as the fire stick is a standalone Alexa device. I would advise removing the skill and then re downloading and see if that fixes the issue.
Echo does not chime with the Ring wired doorbell, even though it is linked, and shows in the Alexa app as "Front door" I thought this was going to be an easy set up, it is anything but that. Ready to return everything back to Amazon.
I have installed this on my firestick but whenever the motion detector goes off it doesn't come through onto my telly to tell me but it does on my ring app on my phone?
As far as I’m aware I don’t think there is without additional hardware, the only way I think that you could get the TV to do this is with some additional hardware by having a Logitech harmony and setting a routine with that.
I use ActionTiles on an old Android tablet that was lying around. There are many helpful videos on setting up ActionTiles. There is a small subscription charge for ActionTiles but is well worth it. Sorry that the answer is not about linking it to the TV but an option worth considering.
Yes I believe it’s the same technique as shown in the video just on the kindle fire instead but I expect it does depends on which kindle fire device you have.
@@LiamsTechGuide I have a similar issue firestick is in hdmi socket 1 Sky tv box is in hdmi socket 2 so if watching sky this won't work I assume I would have to be viewing hdmi 1 on tv ( firestick ) for it to work
Nice video. The front door chime worked well. I was able to get the video to come up once on my TV. Typically mine just sits and says waiting for Ring before eventually timing out. I wonder if anyone else is experiencing poor functionality.
To be honest it’s more of a gimmick than a feature I feel at the moment as the time delay is too long, I’m hoping that in the future they can speed this process up. The timing out issue has happened with myself on the tv and viewing it on my mobile but this has only happened ever since there last update so it could be software related
@@LiamsTechGuide Liam do you know if the live view allows for a live view of more than 5 mins. If I left the live view up as a security feed would it stay up for more than 5 five minutes or would you need to refresh the live image after a certain amount of time?
didnt work for me ..just bought a new Polk sound bar with alexa built in and it has a place for the firestick.. it goes to load the doorbell but then fails , any Idea?
First thing to check is that it is a second gem firestick if it is, It could be a number of things but normally the main culprit is the Wi-fi signal between the doorbell, router and firestick so check on the ring app the connection strength that it has
Yeah you can talk to them by holding down the mic button on the fire tv/stick controller or alternatively say Alexa talk to the front door and you can do it via your echo device.
Does anyone know if the doorbell chime works on 2 different Alexa speakers? I have the main echo downstairs and another echo in the bedroom, ideally I would like both echo’s to chime when the doorbell is pushed, is this possible? I can’t try it yet as the doorbell hasn’t arrived yet, I don’t want to have to purchase a separate chime when I can use the existing speakers in the house
@@LiamsTechGuide how do I setup both to chime as I have one downstairs which chimes when the doorbell is pressed but my one upstairs doesn't? I want them both to chime when the doorbell is pressed could you talk me through how I set that up in the settings?
Hi, to do this you need to go into the following- Alexa app > Devices > Echo & Alexa and then you need to click on each individual echo device you want to chime and make sure “do not disturb” is off and “communication” is enabled. It should then work.
So I’ve a ring generation 2 and fire stick 4k(2018, connected to a regular tv). So I followed the step. The echo says “I’m not quiet sure, what went wrong”. Anyone knows why is it?
Check the Wi-fi connection on both devices (if using Wi-fi on the fire stick) it’s the most common problem when this happens. If not then delete the ring app from Alexa and re do the process as I must admit it’s very hit and miss it when it works it would appear
How do I remove a Fire stick from my Ring? My sister 3 miles away can see my Ring video when she is watching something on her Fire . How the heck does that happen?
Sorry for the delay. Your sister will need to go into the firestick: Open the Amazon Alexa app. Select “Devices” on the bottom menu. Choose “Cameras“. Select the name of the Ring doorbell (Front door, Back door, etc.) Select the cog wheel located at the upper-right part of the screen. Select “Announcement Devices“. Deselect / uncheck the Fire TV devices listed. 👍 and then her her to uninstall the ring skill.
I would say in that scenario they possibly could (never really thought about it) but to prevent this you would need to change your ring account password and de register your amazon account from the firestick online via amazon.co.uk or whatever your regional amazon website address is.
If you have an original Fire TV Stick it is not compatible but It is compatible with all generations of Fire TV and the second generation upwards of the Fire TV Stick. If you have a compatible device check to see if there is an update for the Firestick.
because you have not connected your stick and ring...my echo dot said the same while telling me there was motion at the door...the dot and ring were connected but not the stick and ring. follow this dudes instructions and BAM! Excellent tutorial.
oh so you need the "Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Ultra HD with Alexa Voice Remote | streaming media player" for Alexa to read whats on the Ring to display on my Samsung smart tv.
It depends on what Samsung TV you have as some work directly with the TV without an Alexa Device but it does also depend on what Ring product you have. Details can be found - www.samsung.com/uk/support/tv-audio-video/how-do-i-use-the-ring-doorbell-pro-with-my-smart-tv/

You could possibly set a routine, that may work so when the doorbell in pressed it will play a certain chime at whatever volume you want it to?
Can you change the chime tone to the ring original tone ?

When you press the talk button down on the remote you don't have to say Alexa.
