- In this video, we'll show you how to setup your Amazon Echo Show 5 and Ring Doorbell so they work together. These smart home devices are perfect for keeping track of your home security and monitoring activity.
Once it has been setup the Echo will automatically alert you when someone is at the front door.
Make sure you watch to the end of the video where I will show you other controls and features that you can use, including commands so you can talk to and see the person at the door.
The first thing you need to do is open the Alexa app on your phone or tablet.
Press more and go to skills and games
Press the magnifying glass icon and search for ring
Select the ring skill
And press enable to use
You should now log into your ring account to enable the skill
You should then get a message to say that your account has been successfully linked
Press next, the app will then search for decides to connect too. It should find your doorbell,
If you now press the devices icon and select cameras you should see your door bell,
Select the doorbell and press the gear icon on the top right hand corner of the screen,
From here you can select the devices that you want to alert you when someone presses the doorbell,
For now I am just going to select my Echo show 5
You can then chose to turn motion announcements on or off, I have this turned off as it can be annoying,
You will want to make sure that doorbell press announcements is turned on, as this is what will alert you when someone is at the front door,
Last but not least you will want to select your doorbell sound,
I keep mine on default but there are lots of options including seasonal alerts. - Наука та технологія
Alexa is not giving notifications? Make sure that you dont have your ring enable in other account in your Alexa. To check go to Alexa app > Devices > Select Echo & Alexa > 'Your echo device' > Setting gear > and in General section double check "Amazon Kids" or any other profile. If you have "Amazon Kids" enable, then disable and ring your door bell to see if it works. If it still doesnt work then contact Alexa customer service by going to Alexa app > More menu in the bottom R corner > scroll all the way to the bottom > Help & Feedback > scroll all the way to Contact Us section > select Speak with a representative. The system will ask you to confirm your phone number and a Rep will call you inmediately.
They will be able to see your phone app screen by allowing permission to share and they will troubleshoot in 1,2,3. I spent hours and hours playing and watching videos making sure that I did everything possible to fix it and it took them literally 6 minutes to fix it!. I hope this helps someone one day :)
Thanks I’m having same problem everything is connected but it’s not working
Excellent video. Thank you.... got me up and running easily!
Thank you for making this video!
Thank you Daniel. I love the Darren hayes insatiable single recently played. Great help too. Thanks again
Awesome tutorial! Quick and easyyy
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent. All the info needed and given efficiently and effectively. No faffing about!
Great Video. Helped me s lot thanks. For who say its too fast you do have a pause button!
Great Thanku
thank you, just received my Amazon show five, no instructions how to do anything, was ready to throw that thing out my window.
got the ring connected and now I can see my front door through the show
Thank you from Sunny 🌞 California 👍🏻
Here's another thank you for you. I found this very helpful and I'm subscribed. :D
Your welcome. I’m glad it helped.
how long does the live feed screen stay up when the doorbell is rung?
You are the man (Thank you) How do you cut the sound out. "but only show the person at the door ring camera? O change the sound?
is there a way to disable the chime in the ring doorbell itself? i don't want my neighbor to be alerted with that sound especially at night.
azan
Is there a way to snooze the ring alerts on the echo say for 2 or 4 hrs. Kids play out front and every min it’s "someone was detected at your front door". Can it be silenced other than going into the settings and disabling notifications?
Thanks
Your welcome. 👍
@@DanielWestow I have done this exact setup but do you know how to keep the live feed constant on the echo show? After 4 mins approx it defaults back to the home Screen.
I have tried using routines but no avail.
Can you not ask alexa to stream front door? Or does it need to be done manually?
So you need a ring subscribed service or can it work without a ring acct?
Live video feed doesn't need a monthly subscription if that is what you mean. Echo Show 5 (1st gen) is currently on half price sale at Argos for £34, so less than £123 including the doorbell, not bad value at all.
I got the ring door bell 4 and the echo 5 my old ring doorbell video worked on my show 5 I upgraded and my 4 gives announcements but no video
Did you ever get it figured out? I'm looking into buying a ring 4 & echo 5. I don't want to buy the ring 4, if the echo 5 can't display ring 4 videos
Can we talk around two ways with the echo show with outside person?
Yea
Well I’ve just got a ring doorbell with echo show 5 I’ve followed your instructions to the letter I don’t get notifications on the echo show but I do on my tv. I don’t want it on my tv but I can’t turn it off. I’m sad to say after 8 hours of trying to set up this I’m returning it because it just doesn’t work
H where on Ring account do you find Enable Skill ??????
I get video & sound when I open the Ring. But Does the doorbell ring supposed to ring the sound on my Show? Because it doesn't. Only on my cell phone. What am I doing wrong?
Does this have the original ring sound chime on Alexa show
No
My echo show 5 doesnt connect, like ITS already in the listo but the doorbell just sounds AND Nothing else...
Do you have the ring 3 or ring 4 version ?
I did all this (thanks for the help) and I've checked it time after time, but I still get no doorbell ring sound or announcement from the Echo Show. It does find the doorbell device, and does (if I ask it) show the doorbell video/sound, BUT doesn't notify me of callers, nor gives a doorbell sound. I cannot get that on my mobile phone either, although my husband gets a notification sound on his phone.)
Did you ever get the answer to this I have the same issue
@@eleanorsumner27 Hi, I still have no announcements or ring tones on my phone or Echo Show despite everything I have tried. I think it is because I am only a "shared" user and my husband "owns" the doorbell - it seems there can only be one owner. He gets a ring on his phone but not on the Echo Show. We have now bought a chime to work with the dorrbell so I MIGHT get a doorbell sound. I wish we had just bought an ordinary doorbell.
@@TriciaBooth thanks for reply
Is there an installation video for Ring Hardwired??
You will need an electrician to install it. Just bought one today as well
no gear icon on my alexa app so couldnt see the front door apart from that everything worked
Hello, I have Alexa App connected to all my echo dot/show and also my doorbell, but when I try to connect a alexa device in ring app I get the error code P13-01
Sorry. I haven’t seen this error before….
@@DanielWestow I got the same message. Please help...
I’m also having the same issue, please assist
@@QueensGurkhaRegiment For me deleting everything and setting up each device again worked. And fyi there is no need to extra connect an echo dot for example in ring app. Its enough to connect it via alexa app, then you should automatically get the notifications
❤❤👍🏻
Didn’t work for me. Echo show does nothing
My echo is saying "something went wrong " continuously even my internet is connected
Please help me
I was having the same problem so I just di activated my Alexa to my account and reset my Alexa . Then I put in my Amazon account again and did everything it told me and it was back to normal
Mine doesn’t work it’s so annoying. Literally a pointless device at this point
Needs to be up dated.
I agree…to fast for elderly customers. Sorry, not helpful.
too fast, not ideal for beginners
You can pause the video
You talk wayyyyyy to fast. Remember some of us have never had this Ring app before now
but you have pause and rewind
That's where pause comes into play lol
You can also slow down the playback speed of the video
I like the speed
Dude ridiculous fast.
You talk way to fast, try to remember a lot of seniors are trying to set it up. Try redoing and at a slower pace, not everyone is knows all the apps and their settings , finding the different steps take time for those that don't have total command of the phone. It may be a new phone and not familiar with it and all the things available in the app. Sorry we're not all on your level or have grown up with a cell phone or computer since birth.
It's youtube. Slow it down and rewind it. He done a great job explaining in this video.
Pause and rewind my friend
