My favourite part of this is that despite all the anti fishing for fishies talk in this interview, they ended up playing 'this thing' in their set later that night
Love that Stu said thrash metal felt like his core. I’m slowly getting to know their discography and I dig it, but man, I’m obsessed with Petro Dragonic. I would love a few more thrashy concept albums in that vein!
@@connormcdonald5075I honestly don't think so. I mean, of course there are some who do have a parasocial relationship, but the community is less about the band than the art created and inspired by it But this is just my experience from the people I've met at shows and online

I loved them for a long time but something magical happened during this interview where they became my favorite band. Stu's justification for the bootlegs is nothing short of inspirational. Thanks Gizz, even Eric 😂
First of all, Thank You, Band, for all the touring you do. I know it's not easy. Even more grateful to be able to watch the shows for free. I've been going to live music events for 50 years and It's absolutely astounding to me that I can go out after the concert, party a little, grab something to eat, and then watch the show that is still ringing in my ears from a few hours ago. Very, very cool. So, I saw KGLW in Chicago 3 times last year. The 2 shows in June, as a composite, is the best concert I've attended. That includes many Dead shows, Crazy Horse, PJ, RATM, and many other rock shows. Thanks for the interview.
@@kylealexander1172 Icouldn't make it to the show this year but June 12, and 13, 2023 at the Salt Shed were the best shows I've ever attended. That show on the 13th was absolutely epic and truly inspired. Hot Water/Hypertension from that show is unbelievable as is Rattlesnake/Honey from the previous night.
@jefferyansani1923 yes that hot water was probably what fully pulled me in. This year they did a really good hot water medley with some great songs mixed in, I live streamed It i believe it was the Philly show.
@@kylealexander1172 I'm having a hard time keeping up. That live debut of Change was the first time I heard it. Mars for the Rich, This Thing, Magenta... It blows my mind every time I watch that show scarcely believing I was actually there. Super bummed I couldn't be at the 24 show in Chicago.
@@jefferyansani1923 dont be too bummed, theres always next time. I want to be sucked into your world, plz don’t go thinking about what the audience would like!
I certainly appreciate this sentiment and I think most folks that have been to enough performances would agree. It's a give and take between the two parties! Those are the best types of shows.
While I do like their heavy stuff, their psychedelic/jazzy/groovy stuff is really where they shine in my opinion. Everyone hopes for their favourites of course, but I still had a damn great time moshing the whole set.
Yea there’s a bit more rhythmic and melodic elegance in their psychedelic rock/jazz/ soul songs. I don’t listen to their metal stuff. I welcome it at a live show but a whole set of that stuff would not be my favorite.
I love metal, stoner rock, doom so much but the Gizzard's heavy stuff hasn't ever really done it for me... But I love their softer dreamy stuff so much. Magenta Mountain is absolutely brilliant
Hearing Joey gush over Charlotte De Wit was awesome! Hope they come out with a techno album soon, if they're not already working on one. Best band in the world right now!
Thrash metal is and should be fun. I grew up on that shit and I'm stoked that kids these days dig it. King Giz and the Liz Wiz are an awesome band and I about shit when they released Infest the rats nest. Now they have two thrash records plus daaaaaaaaaays of other music and are not going to be forgotten anytime soon and I love it.
KG & TLW are awesome, my new favorite band! I love how eclectic they are and will try anything. My only complaint is the full metal albums. If they like it, whatever is inspiring them. I personally am not a big fan. I thought is was cool on Omniom Gatherum that they put Gaia and Predator X mixed in the Presumptuous and Grim Reaper. I hope their next album is more like O G. Still the best band around these days!!

This was fun. Good interview and love how close we got to the boys. We’ll excuse the “trash” metal, you still nailed the interview.
The 'th' sound doesn't exist in the Dutch language, so it's difficult to pronounce and often ends up sounding like a T or an S.
I was giggling
These dudes seem super chill, love how they don't take themselves too seriously
“Any time you root a story in reality, it’s instantly boring” this made lol, Ambrose’s reaction made it that much better 😂
It's funny cuz it's true. Seriously though, think, country, blues, reggae, Jimmy Buffet (RIP).
He nailed it. Didn’t like when they got political and all real world in the KG and LW era, it really was boring
low key the reason i got into gizz was exactly because they sang about fictional stuff instead of the usual real-world type of stuff most of the time
