Man I remember watching that video and then getting the yak 15 like the next day and it sucked, mainly because sparks but still it wasn't easy

Made me realize that many vehicles in War Thunder have been in game for much longer that their service life irl.
Well, with War Thunder, there's no human lives to be sacrificed by throwing odd plane ideas at each other.
And once a newer, better plane exists. It's not like the older planes would simply be removed due to ineffectiveness. Because War Thunder has a battle ranking system to keep air battles relatively fair for all the planes.

Yak 15 is super underrated. Very good plane.
No, I believe its just a plane with a very high skill level, which is why you don't see it very often.

Yak-25, Yak-28, Yak-38... It's not much, but they were there. Also yak made sport and training planes

Yak 15 is better than any 6.7 and most 7.3's if you can aim and are in the correct situation

With that argument any plane is good “if you can aim and are in the correct situation”.
I dunno if this is still a major issue with the plane, but one of the reasons it used to be labeled as a bad plane (or if it is still now) is that the 23mm on it Sparks so often, it sometimes takes multiple passes to kill people, god knows how many times it happened trying to get kills for this video lol. But I haven't flown it in a while so I'm not sure if the gun has been buffed or not as of recent.

Just finished Acing Yak 15/17 series. Truly enjoyed those planes. Unique gameplay where you actually prefer fighting higher BRs. I found it easier to shoot down jets than props.
