Wait for the GoPro 12 in less than a month if you want a GoPro, for me I pick the x3 every time I leave the house but action 4 is the best action cam at the moment
You were the first to call the last couple of cameras. Do you have any definite details about the hero 12?

Perfect decision making video. I currently own a hero 10, X3. I’m waiting to see how the hero 12 is before I buy either the OA4 or the 12. I’ve had a blast with my X3. The new insta360 app update works flawless.
I love my GoPro 10 and 11 mini. It’s the picture that I like the most. The Action 4 does look great too though! Thanks for the informative video.

Thank you for the thorough review! Does the camera cut the videofile into smaller ones? I heard the maximum length of a single file is 20 minutes.
Just received OA4 a couple a days ago and it is absolutely perfect for my needs (essentially gravel and road cycling) this is my very first action cam, never thought to pick a GP for the well known heating and reliability issues (nevermind if the gp 12 will shoot in 64k at 1200 fps.... with a 10inch sensor...) i still have an insta go 2 for the "impossible" shots and i good to go. cheers from Roma Italy

For motocross I still like the go pro. But it doe’s randomly have issues. Which not seen one that didn’t.

wow great job on this review! I learned a lot also how do you feel about it mounting to a car for like racing?
I’m planning to buy my first action cam ever, I do many boarding sports like: Wakeboarding, Snowboarding, paddle boarding, skateboarding and maybe sometimes for mountainbiking. Should I wait on the GP12? With the Insta360 I will scratch my lens for sure and waterproof is most important for me while wakeboarding, I can crash at high speeds in the water etc
I bought the X3 wile already owning the Gopro 9 thinking it will be a great addition.
I don't use my Gopro anymore...
The X3 does everything and even better !

Really love your video and i agree the X3 is extremely versatile. But which camera do you recommend when eg going to the zoo and filming wildlife? Best way to zoom and get really close to film the wildlife?
With the GoPro 11 have you tried to change the ISO Max setting in the protune section? Change it from 1600 to 800 and you will get much better quality in low light environment!
Looking into the instan360 x3. I just don’t see any support regarding external battery/mounts for kayaks. I’m hoping YoloTek Juicebank is compatible along with the top mount

nice video ..guys can you please help me out which one should i buy insta x3 or gopro11 or osmo action 4 ...my requirement is for motovlog and travel vlogs ..but im worried the quality of insta is only 1080 p in 360 mode ..can we upscale the footage to 2.7k or 4k without compromising the quality again ...kindly suggest thanks
I got my x3 yesterday and tested how long it would record before it overheated….. it lasted just over 55 mins!!!!!!!
I’m interested in trying the x3. Never used 360 cam.

14 minutes constant for x3? Thats really bad but I watched other x3 videos where it recorded for a lot longer. One guy had the same issue with his x3 and sent it back, he got a new one and it fixed the issue. My x2 records for 45mins and only stops when the battery dies

My osmo action 3 never freezes or overheats but I've seen this problem in GoPro. Sometimes GoPro doesn't even record the voice
I just sold my X3 because having a kid aswell I just cannot bear the fear when using it near him (X3 seems more to a camera to me than an action cam because you have to be so aware of those 2 lenses). The reframing is nice and all but honestly is also a big chunk of more work in advance before going over to Davinci...
I am now very tempted in either buying the Go3 OR the Action 4 and while the Go3 seemed to me as the obvious first choice due to the hands free option it seems to me that the image quality is just too far away from the Action 4.
Nothing sucks more than having a bad low light performance and the micro stabilization stuttering seems to be a lot more with the Go3 - can you confirm that?
Regardless this video is really well made and was exactly the thing I was looking for!

The decision making feature for me is that the Action 4 only requires a cheap adaptor to connect my radio mic receiver. Whereas the GoPro Hero 9 requires an expensive and heavy media mod. This has to be removed, along with the mount, to change the battery or remove the battery to reset after a regular freeze. Incidentally, GoPro replaced the camera recently and it’s still a problem. And I confirm I’m using the correct spec SD card.
I would like to choose one of these for holidays, waterpark, skiing, swimming and to shoot beautilful pictures. I am between x3 and action4. My biggest problem with x3 is that i would really afraid, that the lens would get scratched(for example in a waterslide). I know there is a lot of cases to cover the x3, but not the lens, and the sticky lens seems to me a bad solution, because that also scratch easily, so you have to change it all the time. I saw in the video, that the guy place the x3 on the table with a soft case under the cam, to safe the lens. So you have to be prepared for this all the time.
My question to x3 owners: Have you ever enjoyed using the x3 without constantly worrying about scratching the camera?
For me action4 is more durable, but x3 seems better for what i need.

I would think twice of how i use and mount it in a water slide for sure. My use is always “safe use” so I don’t worry to much
I agree with your concerns. but if you want the 360 benefits. it is what it is. personally I want to get the action 4 and the X3. and I will not use the X3 in circumstances where the lens is so much at risk. but still unexpected things can happen. but with that said. the only action camera I have ever owned is the Go Pro Hero 3. which is really old. and it has a roundish lens. and it is unprotected. and it still isn't scratched even though I think the camera is in it's final days of operation. and if the GoPro 12 is coming really soon I want to wait to see what that offers before getting the action 4.
@@photographerjonathan you totally described, what is in my mind. I also think that an x3 is a must have, and buying a gopro or action4, beside the x3 depending on the offer of gopro12. But it is a more costly way, but what could we do??! :D
Can mini planet be done with dji osmo action 4??
x3 is the beast. I have gopro 11 and i did not enjoy it the same way as x3. Most of my useful footages are unintentionally from x3.

What would you use for mounon a motocross or enduro bike? Helmet mounts are out in many events now but bike mount can be a terrible view and will get shaken around A LOT. Could the x3 cope ?
Fairly tired of go pro at present. New models aren't often ready for release when they're actually released

Not easy decision. Do You have any accesories for X3? Im afraid that without 3m stick its not good enough. And X3 solo have the same price as GoPro 11 with accesories

True, but the x3 has more options and makes it easier and more fun.
You don’t need the 3m stick, you can use the 114cm as well which is nice too. It’s just that i prefer the 3m

I would definitely recommend the X3, but I wouldn’t make it my primary camera. OA4 or maybe the hero 12 would be primary.
I never had a action cam, so no experience. What will you recommend for cycling? A classic format as go pro/dji or a 360 camera?
I think the x3 cuz he uses it for his bike and can adjust the frames and stuff later. GP/DJI, you risk the chance of bad angles or overheating.

So there will be issues for battery charging a powerbank of 20k mah maybe sufficient but the climatic conditions will suit these camera?
If battery is a huge thing, I would probably go for the GO 3 out of those 2
From my point of view the DJI Action 4 contributes little or nothing and since Gopro will launch the 12 next month, I would wait.

I briefly owned a GoPro11 but returned it for a refund as it didn’t suit all my needs.
The x3 sounds awesome, but again, for vlogging intentions, that 360 distorted fish lens appearance just isn’t natural for me and I actually find it quite nauseating to view after only a short time. So for vlogging, walking & talking, that distorted unnatural image is a definite no for me.
Even though the DJI OA4 is only slightly upgraded from the previous model, for my personal interests, I like that its lowlight recording has improved, as has the underwater recording, where a persons skin tone is more natural, instead of the overall “blueness” of a video from the OA3.
I’ve got a couple of months until I buy an action camera, so out of interest, I’ll wait and see what the GoPro12 offers, but I’m not expecting too much, so for me, as of right now, I think the DJI OA4 will be the camera I’ll be buying.
You can remove the fisheye in post tho

Sure, but it´s not really in the same category. It´s a handheld gimbal stabilizer with a camera on top so you wont really use it in the same ways as these 4.
But Pocket 2 is definitely killing it in certain modes for sure!

Pocket 2 is the best in low light no competition. Even better than my insta 360 1inch 360, because it has wider aperture. All these action cameras are disappointing in low light anytime its getting dark I just switch to either pocket 2 for long action videos or my full frame r6ii for static videos.

Is the 360 x3 used for still pics or is just good for taking videos?
It takes 18/36mp photo and 72MP photos in 360.
Photos are pretty good and can be more fun than others

Videos comes out between 1440p and 2.7K is when exported in prores at 4k. Maybe around 2k ish.
It also depends on your adjustments like how much you zoom in and out.

Yeah I again fallen into the trap of sponsored reviews and got Go3. Image quality is not the best, although it's quite versatile camera.
Try Free Frame video😎 quality is a bit better when using the flat profile

Come on GoPro.. after 11+ generations other companies easily caught up in a few.. even the akaso is doing better
I got the 8 a few years back and when I finally found a reason to use it more often, it kept getting corrupted. Never again, my Akaso doesn’t want to capture audio, but I use it for all my obstacle course races and no problem! Go Pro is going to be like the Sears of Action Cams.

160 minutes is 2 hours and 40 minutes and you got 1 hour and 45 which is nearly 1 hour less than their claim.
I too hate cyclists who ride on narrow roads blocking traffic. There are plenty of great bike trails where I live so there is no reason for them to be on the roads. I'm glad the old guy on the bike was ok, but it was his own fault.
Not really, driver was recklessly pushing him out. They also came from a camp, so this was 100% the driver 😬
there is no excuse for a driver to push out a cyclist or a pedestrian. Even if the driver is right, being so aggressive turns right to wrong. At 06:18 the driver was careless, inconsiderate and reckless
100% the drivers fault. You mention there are plenty of trails for cyclists to ride on, so why does that not apply to the car driver, there are plenty of roads no? Slow down and respect cyclists, be human and be kind. They aren't hurting you, enjoy the scenery until it's safe to pass.
