What a awesome tutorial nees! Thanks for the srep by step tutorial. I would like to know the heat source requirements for clay pot cooking. We have a common gas line connection as we live in a gated community. We do not use seperate cylinder. I wish to use claypot, but my husbsand used to say that the pot will break as we use pipe gas connection it generates high flame...which is not suitable for clay pots.

Hi can I please know what we should be doing if we see colour seeped into the soaked water? First 6-8 hours nothing happens but after 24 hours the water changes colour for one specific pot.

Hi.. I have come across your video today.. last week i had bought a clayware. and I have followed the steps u told except the oil application. When I did the leakage test, I could see drops of water coming out from a hairline crack at the bottom.. Do you know how to fix it?
U're such a genius! I soaked the clay pot for 24 hours and the colour didn't come out. Last time I soaked just for about an hour and some clay was still coming out. Can we reuse the starch water for seasoning another clay pot? I have bought 4 and there is enough water to soak 2 ( I am soasoning 2 at a time) so I was wondering if I could reuse the same starch water second time ...
Hello Nees Kitchen, I bought clay pot one normal red and another was fire burnt clay pot so it has a deep brown to black colour. Which one of them is better? The foods cooked in normal red clay pot is kind of having a earthy muddy flavour. The ones cooked in deep burnt pots have no smell and it's like using another metal vessel. I am confused which one is better. Do you have any idea?

Chinese claypots are either glazed or unglazed. Glazed has chemicals and its quite dangerous to use. Unglazed ones are good but I felt they taste well for Chinese cuisine recipes more than Indian cuisine.
Hi, I have been seasoning the pots as you told. But when am trying to clean the pots, I still get the black colour how many ever times am washing ( for my black pots). Same is case with red ones ( how many times ever am washing, water is muddy). I still didn't come to process of applying oil. Is there some problem with my pots or is it common until we apply oil. Please clarify.
A little muddy is fine that's the nature of clay..You cannot get crystal clear water..At the same time it shouldn't be too much muddy. A negligible amount is fine and it will become normal after kanji

nees kitchen ; i seasoned a pot in rice water for a few days, adding rice water each day - i should have changed the water each day instead - now there is a little smell from the pot - im planning to soak it in plain water & dry it repeatedly a few times to get rid of that smell. Second hand Claypot means already used one, which means the previous owner should have seasoned it for there use. You are only continuing to use in your kitchen. That's how I see it.
You're right. But i was just thinking since i bought them in Germany, maybe it's not common to season it here. And i don't want them to break because i really love them😊

On day 3, when d utensils r soaked in rice water, how should I create kanji water for 10 utensils?? It's a bit much. Any tips? 2. It is true water storage utensils like water jug or natia doesn't need to undergo ALL these steps? If yes, which can I slip. The oiling step of course. Besides that? 3. Unfortunately i used detergent to rinse. Now the water have taste of detergent. Too sick to drink. Is there any solution to get rid of the detergent taste

Om Shanti sister ,my clay tawa has cracked after 15 days using....i seasoned well. It was taking more time to cook roti(chapati),I did the flame high after 5 minutes . Roti was cooked very fast bur tawa cracked at the same time. It oozes the oil when I make parathe.........so my question is that should we never do the flame high ?
This was my 6th clay pot,,, and they crack on 3rd or 4th use, even after seosining them, can you show us how to cook when to put oil and other details please

Applying oil is optional , you can ignore if you wish too.

The water has to be plain colour by the time it comes to step 2..there should not be any other color...

@@rainstormr7650 If needed, u can boil some water and put lemon juice/cut lemon while boiling.. it removes the smell

Unfortunately i used detergent to rinse. Now the water have taste of detergent. Too sick to drink. Is there any solution to get rid of the detergent taste
Hi mam, I'm using a claypot to cook fish gravy for the past few years. But there is oil stain /stickiness only at the base of the pot. I cannot figure out the reason. Even after cleaning, this does not go. Can you tell me why this is happening and how to get rid of this.

Om Shanti sister ,my clay tawa has cracked after 15 days using....i seasoned well. It was taking more time to cook roti(chapati),I did the flame high after 5 minutes . Roti was cooked very fast bur tawa cracked at the same time. It oozes the oil when I make parathe.........so my question is that should we never do the flame high ?
As far as I understand, most of chapath itawa's are failure models. I have not personally tried due to this reason. So no idea for tawas alone.
