  • Hopefully you guys saw the video a month ago where we attempted to repair this unit and found out it had a bad decoder. Well we've got parts so let's see if we can get her running again. There was an interesting surprise in regards to the parts I picked up. Guess I wasn't paying close enough attention, lol.

    The next-gen Atlas chassis eliminates the finicky pick up strips and makes changing the PC easy.

      I've heard the newer stuff is truly DCC ready.

      Why doesn't everyone use the Fox Valley method? Unplug DC-dummy plug, install DCC module. Ready to go Too easy I guess?@@Trains-With-Shane

      @@markdavid7013Yeah that didn't start happening till later. It's been that way in H.O. scale for a long time but dealing with space limitations in N scale. I believe Broadway Limited just started offering the DCC Plug type of DCC-Ready setup in their latest N scale "Stealth" line. Which, since so many people hate the Paragon decoders seems like a very good option because BLI has always had very nice detailed models.
