He’s so right. Everyone rightfully praises Ederson for being a brilliant keeper, and he was powerless to get around Arsenal’s clever blocking in their 2-2 (identical blocking, twice in a row, the second leading to a goal). If that was Vicario the narrative would’ve been “he needs to be stronger there”, but as it was Ederson, it was just “clever from Arsenal, nothing Ederson could do”
It's not clever, it's just cheating that refs said they'd stop but after a few weeks started ignoring it again.
Came here to comment this. Disgraceful tactic and illegal in the game with it (at least should be) labeled as obstruction. Got an arsenal friend who said it was "smart" lol nah just cheating
@@poosalad7067 - No intention to play the ball, every intention to play the man. That for me is obstruction to the letter
after seeing forster the other night i'm so grateful for having vicario
It’s hard to argue with that! After watching Forster, having Vicario must feel like a real blessing. He's been solid, and it makes all the difference knowing you've got a reliable presence between the sticks.
Faser foster is a big for nothing dosser said it from day one why we even ever brought him is a complete joke he’s not at that level and the fans are stupid for not saying it how I is 😂😂😂 everytime the 6ft7 lser plays we lose 😂😂😂

@kevinlarsen709 So why do people care about a so called "joke club" so much then? Why do West Ham, Chelsea, and Arsenal all consider Tottenham their biggest rival? You can mock and hate on Spurs all you want, but it's only proves that it is, in fact, a relevant club 🤷♂️

This interview was much better than couple of recent Ange's interviews.
It's much more communicating on what's going on with Spurs recently.
It's like he has an attention problem when under pressure
It does seem like Vicario’s focus wavers when the pressure’s on, especially during those high-stakes moments like set pieces. It's almost as if he gets caught in two minds-whether to come out or stay on his line-and that hesitation is costly. When a keeper struggles with concentration under pressure, it ripples through the whole defence, creating uncertainty. Spurs need him to be sharp and decisive in those situations; otherwise, it could be a recurring issue all season.
no it doesn't
I love Vicario and love Spurs! COYS
I really liked Vicario's answers to all the questions, good leader for us
lol
Vic has to be smarter with set pieces and play the rules. Any touch on a GK is a free kick. At corners Vic should make an attempt for the ball the way the opposing team have there defenders on top of Vic means Vic will get the free kick.
Any touch on a gk is a free kick? Source?
@@tom11mansfieldthere is no source because he’s chatting bs
@@tom11mansfield You not watch the game. How many times has a GK gone for the ball the opposing player goes into him and its a FK.
@orinorio1 yes I watch a lot of games, I'm an arsenal fan and we appear to deliberately try to block and harass the keeper every corner and it's rarely given, last season too many were given but we aren't seeing them this season. Feel free to list some examples if I'm wrong...
Vic does speak very well here tbf.
so true , not much italian accent ,cant believe this is his second year in London
gotta be more aggressive young man
It is a tottenham problem need to comment the penalty area better and organise the defence better
Absolutely! It's clear that set-piece defending is a real issue for Tottenham, and it comes down to better organisation and control in the penalty area. The team needs to be much more assertive, with the keeper commanding his box and the defence more disciplined in their marking. A lack of focus or communication in those moments can cost crucial points, and it’s something that can't be swept under the rug. Addressing this vulnerability is key if Spurs want to compete at the highest level consistently.
Great shot stopper, but definitely a worry at set pieces, he seems distracted all the time
Yes he seems like he feels he must move a lot before it’s taken and that what distracts him I think
@JackTottenhamHS yeah, he's more interested in the opposition players than the ball. He's a bit of a softie
That’s exactly the problem. It’s something he will need to work on. Opponents truly know they can score vs Tottenham. But at the same time the defenders aren’t better on corner defending either. Ange said he doesn’t need a set piece coach on top of that
Terrible at corners too. He's become an easy target for the opposition
When a GK has to deal with 5 players pushing around in front of him its very hard to stay focused. Arsenal had 4 players who's job was to push into Vic or stop him from coming for the ball. Means Spurs has to have 4 players trying to stop those 4 players. Imagine having 8 people in front of you pushing each other
Big up, Vicario! COYS
People are not appreciating Vic's intelligence and articulation here. Regardless of whether Ange is the manager long-term, us Spurs fans have a great keeper and a thoughtful individual who will most likely see us lift a trophy down the line.
One of the best keeper in the league right now and so young. Will be in the top 1-2 keepers within 2 years. Also showed today he has excellent mind and attitude. Go VIC!
Well done vic
Great Keeper. Can see him being a manager one day even as a keeper. Very least he’ll become a GK coach. Seems to love the game.
Look for someone to teach you how to handle corners why concealed a lot of goals
Bro had the stats on hand for that set piece question. Press officer had him well prepped 😂
Love this guy 🤍🤍
Wow his English is already great
Arsenal don’t have an issue with conceding from corner, neither do a lot of teams 😂
You're right-plenty of teams, like Arsenal, have really tightened up their set-piece defending, showing it's more than possible to solve that issue with the right organisation and personnel. When you see teams handling corners and set pieces efficiently, it highlights just how much of a weak spot it is for Tottenham. It's not an unsolvable problem, but Spurs definitely need to focus on it if they want to keep pace with the top sides who’ve made these vulnerabilities a thing of the past.
@@johnpyra7956 Are you chat gpt?
@@chishh2554 it's the - for me
100% a Tottenham problem. We need to spend less time trying to justify it and more time trying to fix it, conceding way to easily
You need to do better on set pieces.
Did this guy just say “33% of goals come from set pieces so it’s not a big problem only for us” i don’t even like Tottenham but the way his talking is giving me Weak mentality he sounds a lot like Bellerin’s interviews for Arsenal. I hated that type of mentality. I wouldn’t want a player like that in my team.
That kind of mentality can definitely be frustrating to hear, especially when it feels like the player is downplaying a real issue. Set pieces are a massive part of the modern game, and brushing it off like that shows a lack of accountability. It’s exactly that sort of mindset that can keep a team stuck in mediocrity-accepting flaws instead of addressing them. Reminds me of the old Arsenal days when Bellerín would talk more about style and philosophy than fixing the glaring problems. You want players who demand more, not ones who excuse weaknesses.
Well lucky your a nobody who don’t have a team 😂😂😂
@@johnpyra7956 exactly couldn’t have said it better.
According to him any away game is a tough game😂
Spurs' capability as a team is single-handedly capped by him. Set pieces will continue to be an Achilles heel. Look across North London at how Arsenal replaced Ramsdale with Raya to have a GK that dominates his box. Spurs need to do the same or they will never progress beyond top four pretenders.
It’s not easy to find a keeper who can play tiki taka passes at the back comfortably like Vicario. If you also want cross claiming ability on top of that, then it’s even harder to find.
You've hit the nail on the head. Vicario’s issues at set pieces could very well be the ceiling that holds Spurs back. Arsenal’s move to bring in Raya shows a clear understanding of the importance of a keeper who commands their box and handles those high-pressure situations. If Spurs want to take that next step beyond just challenging for the top four, they might need to make a similar bold decision. Dominating in all aspects, especially in vulnerable moments like set pieces, is crucial for breaking through to the top level. Otherwise, it might be more of the same "nearly there" story for Spurs.
@@thierryhenry674 Steel of Brighton? am sure he would be a perfect choice
No disrespect to him whatsoever. Has a great potential. He is a good shot stopper, good energy, poor in the air, poor with his feet.
Biggest cope of the century
Biggest cope of the century" is slang, typically used online, to suggest that someone or a group is using an exaggerated or misguided justification to deal with a loss, failure, or disappointment. "Cope" in this context refers to coping mechanisms, but it's used sarcastically to imply that the person is unable to face the reality of the situation and is making excuses or rationalisations instead.
In essence, calling something the "biggest cope of the century" means someone is making a particularly grand or absurd excuse to deal with a significant let-down or defeat.
Biggest bottlers in the country.
I hope success comes your way.
I’ve got an idea for set pieces… leave the box ffs
If you played well and didn’t get rewards , what happens when you don’t play well ?

Tottenham use to tell the guners during Wenger era that we only know how to play good football with out results. We have sold it to them
What a backhanded compliment. Makes me proud❤
It’s ironic, isn’t it? Spurs fans used to mock Arsenal for playing beautiful football without delivering the results, and now it feels like the tables have turned. With Arsenal making decisive changes and looking more pragmatic while still playing attractive football, Spurs seem to have inherited that same old pattern of style without substance. It’s almost like we’ve traded roles with them, and now we’re the ones grappling with the frustrating gap between performance and results. Time for Spurs to break the cycle and find that balance!
Spurs team it's self have a big problem

Don’t get fooled by Ange’s way with words. We lost to Arsenal twice last season in the exact same way through set pieces, and this season, we lost stupidly again with no plan against it. Are you in your right mind? Just because Ange says set pieces don’t matter, does that mean even you, as the goalkeeper, think they’re not important? Since Ange took over, Tottenham has been one of the worst in the league in terms of conceding goals from set pieces. We’ve lost nearly 20 goals from set pieces since last season. Yet Ange still doesn’t come up with a proper solution and keeps deceiving people by downplaying its importance. Meanwhile, Arsenal has scored around 30 goals from set pieces. Look at their position now. Under Conte, we had a dedicated set-piece coach, and we were one of the best in the league for set pieces.

We probably need to score more of those chances - which would not involve signing Timo Werner who is a specialist at missing chances.
Sign someone who can finish chances = Profit!
To be fair Timo is not there only to score goals, he is your classic wide player and is there mainly to create them, and if you think we signed him only to score goals, you know nothing about football. But then it seems that to get any sort of platform around here you have to bad mouth and bag certain players, i do think you are one of them, and i wish for Spurs sake, you would your hate filled, harmful, sad and negative statements somewhere else...... Holy copium 😂
Tottenham does NOT play good football. Calm down broski. The whole team is hype but there is nothing there. Their best player is Kulusevski and he is bang average. Tottenham will need 20 years to go back to that Pochetino time, for now, they will only get worse. 60M Solanke, 45M Johnson and 60M Richarlson? Goodluck hamrolls 😂
The best is Kulu ?😂😂😂 There's still Son. Ange is using him in a wrong way.
@@happypuppy439 Son hasnt been Son for 2 seasons now. Kulu is their best and thats how terrible spurs are.
@@philiprandolphbenitez3788 It doesn’t sound like you’re a Spurs fan. When Conte was in charge, Perisic was pushed up like a winger to help Kane become the top scorer, leaving Son to drop back as a wingback. That’s why he couldn’t score as many goals. On top of that, Son played through a facial fracture, and dealt with severe pain from a year long hernia, yet still contributed with 10 goals and 6 assists for the team.
Now, Ange is using him as a wide winger, sticking him out wide by the touchline. From that position, he’s just bait, pulling defenders away and creating space for the fullback to push forward. But he’s too far from goal, and opponents always park the bus against him. On top of that, Udogie and Maddison are constantly occupying the space he needs, leaving him with no room or chance to shoot. To make matters worse, even in counterattacking situations, Ange doesn’t let them attack quickly, but instead slows it down and resets the build-up. This system completely limits Son’s natural talent for counterattacks.
Next summer, Son will probably leave to find a manager and team that suits him better. Despite being loyal to Tottenham for a decade, consistently performing, and openly saying that he wants to win a trophy before he retires, both Ange and Levy are ignoring him. Son deserves better and should consider leaving as early as this winter transfer window.

It's not players, but Ange's too extreme high line tactics
@@Thomas-zs5wt VDV is the only decent player you’ve mentioned. Romero puts country before club and doesn’t play well for Spurs. Son is way past his best. The others players you’ve mentioned would struggle to get into any other premier league team. And don’t insult people’s intelligence that Maddison is a good player. He’s one of the biggest flops Spurs have ever signed (and even Ange knows it as he gets hauled off in every game for being useless).
@jeffrey6171 yeah ok so you hate yourr own team and i do still think maddison is ok and son gets a decent amount of goals every season
@@jeffrey6171 Maddison’s corner kicks are honestly some of the worst I’ve seen from a Spurs set-piece taker. But Ange does nothing about it 😂 Why?
And I have a different opinion about Son. In the national team, just before the Arsenal match, he scored 1 goal and provided 2 assists. He mostly played centrally in that game. It's not a striker, but a winger who comes into centrally. Son is a player who needs space. But Ange's system..... too crowded in front of the final third.
Now, Ange is using him as a touchline winger and isn’t creating space for him to shoot with his tactical adjustment. Udogie and Maddison are always in his way, so Son barely gets a chance to shoot. If Ange would just adjust the players’ positions a little to give Son room to shoot, it would make a difference, but Ange isn’t doing anything. Because Son isn’t scoring, the team is now in 13th place.
